Where Is Augustus | When Is It Okay To Get A New Dog After One Passes Away

I’m so sorry, we went thru loosing our pup a couple of weeks ago so I know the torment of going thru that. Looking for a new pup has helped me immensely. Hugs.

No-one should have to justify why they get another pup after one passes, you do what you need to do! I'm so sorry for your loss, my family and I went through the same thing last week, so completely understand how it feels, it'll take time but he'll always be in your heart

So sad if anyone would tell you or anyone else it's too soon to have another puppy or how long anyone should wait. We are all individuals able to think for ourselves what is best or not best for us! One of my fur babies that passed away I heard yelp in pain for two days on a weekend before we could get her back to her vet. They don't show pain like we do so when they do it's really REALLY BAD 😥 I could literally hear her yelps for awhile after she was gone which made it so traumatic for ME I didn't want to even think about having another dog ever again. I had not gone even one day without a dog in around 30 years at that time so that tells you how hard it was on me but because I do love dogs so much I finally gave in around 2 years later and got another dog. Now, I can't even imagine not having her in my life for the 14 years I had her getting her at 11 weeks old but I made sure this time that I would not see or hear her suffer like my previous dog had but it left me heartbroken once again 😥 For ME, this time, I knew I would not stop crying if I didn't get another dog to focus on loving and caring for as soon as I could find one that was right for me to get. No dog would take the place of any of my previous fur babies. Each one has their OWN SEPARATE SPECIAL FOREVER PLACE IN MY HEART 💖🐶 but for those of us that love our dogs for whatever reason when we decide if we decide to get another dog we create another special forever place in our hearts for another one. We have so much love to give another one so for those of us that decide to get another fur baby or not and when to get them that is a decision no one but you can know that's right for you just like no one could tell me. I had to know that for myself. It is true whenever someone decides to get another one it does help us heal, however, I DO KNOW the new puppy I just got Saturday didn't come without my going through the loss of losing my precious fur baby I had for 14 years so that does hurt to think of it in that way. When someone tells me congrats on the new puppy, if they don't already know, I make sure to tell them thanks but it didn't come without the loss of my precious fur baby I had before getting the puppy. Congrats again and just know those emotions are going to be there. We will ALWAYS miss the fur babies that have passed on but if we decide something can help us heal we should do it and not worry about what anyone else thinks. Enjoy your fur babies. I am finding I need MORE NAPS since I just got my 8 weeks old puppy 😁

I get where you guys are coming from. I had to do the same thing after I lost my fur dog it was 💔 but I needed to fill my ❤️ again so within a month and a half I too got myself another fur baby this time I got a female. I still can't talk about my boy so I get it. Bless your ❤️

My dog died too I got one and it died 1 week after we got him I cried for so long

I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you’re feeling I just went through with my Yorkie he had cancer as well. Yorkie survived two years after he was diagnosed he was a tough little guy. I had to make the decision and not be selfish and do what was best for him. I have to say that was the hardest thing I had to do. As much as I would love to get another dog right now I am just not ready.

I lost my dog back on July 24th in the middle of the night and it was one of the hardest things i ever had to go through. I agree getting another dog after the loss of another dog is totally a personal preference. I ended up getting another one 3 weeks ago now to give my other dog a playmate
