“Moonshiners,” an American documentary/reality television series from the Discovery Channel, has been entertaining viewers for a decade now. Mike Cockrell gained popularity among moonshine enthusiasts, as he’s been included in the hit TV show for the past six years. The illegal production of liquor and the various ways that the moonshiners had evaded the law fascinated a lot of people. Several rumors hounded the show and its cast members since its inception, such as getting busted by the police, and a few names were tossed around on social media, including Mike Cockrell.

I liked it when Richard & Craig went to meet Mike &, Jerry, and Richard said you need to find out what a good ass whipping is, and then Richard & Craig told Mike and Jerry that is Mark & digger still, and Jerry went and got that elbow and did not say a word

Every story needs a bad guy. Mike is ingenious when it comes to creativity. Only Richard can beat him. But professionally, he's an ass. Too impulsive. I do like Jerry though.

I think discovery pays him by the word! I don’t care if it’s fake or not, some good characters in it. Just less Mike would save me from muting the tv so much, lol

I've never really cared for Mike and I know it's just a show, but these last few episodes have really made me not like him even more. If you're portraying yourself doing something "illegal" you don't do the things he's been doing to Richard. The things he's been doing is things the law does and that's just not something you do. Plus going by his own logic towards Richard and Craig, Mike needs to take his ass back to Mississippi where he came from. Otherwise they are equal and the customers are fair game.

Couldn't disagree with Mr. Gregory more. I never cared much for Mike, but Richard needs to take his ass back to the bayou. You need to live by the moonshiners "Code" I can't stand to look at or even hear his voice. He needs a good ole Appalachian ass kicking at least. Yeah, I know the show is about as fake as the WWE, but what would that POS Richard do if the shoe was on the other foot? Probably nothing because he's a puss or wouldn't have pulled that shit in the first place!!

@@dannychurch4596 I wasn't necessarily taking Richard's side. I was just pointing out the fact that Mike isn't an Appalachian native himself. From what I can remember form geography class, none of the state of Mississippi is considered as part of the Appalachia region. Both his partners, Daniel and Jerry are, but he considers himself the dominant one. As a matter of fact his brand used to be Tennisippi Moonshine. He done the exact same thing. As for the tracking device in the magnetic key holder, a few episodes back, Mark and Digger were loading diggers truck. Mark looked down and said digger your hide a key just feel to the ground. Digger said I don't have a hide a key. It was a very similar device inside what I'd be willing to bet was the exact same magnetic hide a key. My distain really is more towards the producers or writers. Did they think people would forget seeing that not so long ago?

I live in Haywood county NC and the real moonshiners are around, they’re not on TV and honestly, the law doesn’t mess with them much. Troy Cagle is still a figure in our town.

Mike's legal. The show is not real cause who drives around with Tennessee Moonshiner in huge letters on the rear window of a bright red truck when getting by with making illegal shine. It doesn't happen lol 😂. I'd be more of a traditional shine drinker as in the corn liquor cause I grew up drinkn corn likker and if anyone wanted it flavored with fruit and other ingredients, they had to go get their own mix cause in the 70s it was high proof corn likker or nothing lol...I'm old school and I liked the old ways of doing things and I can only imagine what jalapeño likker would be like lol...It's a recipe for hemroids probably or acid reflux really bad and I watched every episode till the end of em all...

He"s the one guy I really didn"t like,whatever.I love the point that they"re supposed to be "Hiding" from the law,riding around with window stickers advertising what their doing.I think some of the methods of "moonshining" were probably pretty close to authenic.The rest of it pure entertainment,made for ratings.

Most of the moonshiners on The moonshiner show are licensed legal distillers and if they're making real liquor on television then they're paying tax on it you don't really think they could do that and flown it and get away with it you really think the law going to make them look that stupid it's a reality show is the entertaining as hell but it's reality show why would a camera crew follow Josh all the way to Brazil when he's on the run like I said entertaining as hell Kenny & Henry law are license legal distillers
