The Puli is possibly the most high-maintenance dog you could ever own. From what I've seen, making sure their dreads are healthy and don't get matted like this takes daily care. Best wishes for the pup!

Seems this breed is incredibly high maintainance. And you get so many of them! well done.

I volunteered several years with Lake Tahoe Wildife Care in California at the southern end of the Lake. They are licensed to care for bears. When an orphaned cub would arrive, it would be sedated, blood sample taken, and Dr. Willets would pick over the animal carefully, finding a small mountain of debris and vegetation! If the cub had been on its own for some time, it would have collected a lot! I had no idea foxtails were dangerous! Thanks!

I always think how amazed they must be when you have to sedate them and they wake up without all that weight on them. Your heart must be so full when you see them after grooming. Knowing the pain and confinement they felt in their own skin. Now free again. Imagine how it feels for them the first time they can wag their tail! The tail is so important for dogs. Back in 1970, 50+years ago, my husband bought a Hungarian Puli puppy as a surprise. She was adorable! We named her Fruska; we had her for five years. After about a year, she was constantly getting out because our two little girls would open the door, and she'd go flying out and disappear. Even though she always came back, I felt she needed a better home, so we found another owner, a couple who already owned a mixed breed Puli, and were excited to have a purebred dog. Fruska was spayed, so they had no bad motives; it turned out to be a perfect choice. Anyway, while we had her, I never had her groomed. Didn't even know such a thing existed. Not caring much for dreadlocks, I combed her out on a regular basis, and she was the softest, fluffiest dog ever. The cutest little dog! Thank you, Damjan and Sanja, for helping this Hungarian Puli! He was a huge matted mess!

This is a reload we have seen this dog, you are going to have to start grooming dogs that just need a regular groom. Maybe try to find dog owners that don't have the funds to groom their dogs. Just as fun to watch you use your skill grooming dogs, plus you would help both dogs and owners.
