what's great is you can see that Dornan's suit lacks a fusion core. He is simply using his sheer strength to move that unpowered suit around like it weighs nothing.
you know what's even funnier is if you manage to convince him that you weren't issued any power armor he goes off on a tirade against the people in charge of equipping new recruits instead
Those paper shuffling-jackasses! How the hell do they expect me to run this unit if they keep shortchanging me on supplies! Double-time it over to the armory and get your issue, then report back to me. Dismissed!
Except the X-02, the X-01 quantum, the X-03 hellfire, Ultracet power armor, X-01 tesla armor, x-02 tesla armor, and the ten billion armors found in f76
@Cotac_Rastic yeah, Bethesda just needs to rewrite 3, 4, and 76 to be actual fallout games, not fan fiction that got tacked onto the series because they own the IP
I forget which game in the fallout timeline this takes place but it definitely takes place before 3 cuz I remember in that game you didn’t need a fusion core in order to run around as if you weren’t in power armour and that could be the same in previous fallout games too cuz as far as I know fallout 4 and 76 are the only games in which you needed fusion cores in order to move faster than regular walking speed when using power armour
@@andrewmcdonald7435 Bethesda Failouts don't follow the canon established in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, so don't bother applying logic to it. Specifically the way power armor works in Fallout 4, in canon, was limited to T-45 power armor and was quickly replaced by T-51 power armor, which is the only power armor you can get in Fallout 1 and in Fallout 2 the power armor Enclave has is basically T-51 "mark II" _(the X-01 power armor from Fallout 4 literally shouldn't exist, even according to what you can find in the game itself)._ T-45 ran on standard microfusion cells _(that's the thing energy weapons chug)_ and they could only power the suit for a short while before needing to be replaced _(not directly stated, but it made long time operations essentially impossible, so it'd be anything between minutes and hours of operation, which coincides with fusion cells in Fallout 4 lasting 20 minutes tops)._ T-51 power armor _(so even if we assume T-60 and X-01 were a thing, they'd use the same or similar energy source)_ used a specifically designed microfusion pack that had enough fuel to last for 100+ years of operation. As for the timeline, it's: 1. Fallout 76 2. Fallout 1 3. Fallout Tactics _(I mean if the shit Bethesda serves as canon is canon, then so is Fallout Tactics, especially since Bethesda integrated a lot of things from it their games... like the entire idea of West Coast BoS going East in zeppelins)_ 4. Fallout 2 5. Fallout 3 6. Fallout New Vegas 7. Fallout 4.
@@LecherousLizard XO1 did exist according to both the Fallout 4 game and the official wiki it was just still in the R&D phase when the nations started nuking each other and post-apocalypse factions like the enclave found and continued research and production on it from there
@@andrewmcdonald7435 If you really want to relate to the garbage Bethesda Failout lore, then the schematics were sent to the Control Station Enclave shortly before the bombs fell... from Appalachia, so Fallout 76 is the actual source of information on X-01, because Fallout 4 couldn't provide a single cohesive story. Well, not like Fallout 76 helps much, for example with all the Vertibird bots flying around which were, apparently developed years before the army started designing actual Vertibirds, so... Yeah, it's a mess.
@@andrewmcdonald7435 armor that didn't exist until 200 years after the war was a super secret prototype that was mass produced... yeah sure and bethesda can make good games
When you’re so good at your job you successfully intimidate the guy infiltrating your base to destroy it to get back in line and serve till they pay off their new armor.
I wanna see that thing happening in Fallout 2 where there's an option to serve the Enclave and pay off your new MK II Combat Power Armor that you have lost by doing a very FINE job of guarding a warehouse, resulting a different ending where the Enclave won.
Makes you wonder what'd he'd say if the recruiter or the guys in the armoury didn't give you a suit. Would he yell at you still, or tear the other guys a new one?
Probably both. The supply would likely not be in that SGT's command so even if he has a lower rank, if the SGT doesn't follow the procedures and forms, he is shot out of luck. (Check Zack)
I'm thinking, "you can't possibly be dumb enough to lose a big piece of shit like power armor right" and then I remembered that it's the US Military and I've watched enough of Zack and Mike's campfire stories to know that they would definitely no questions asked lose some MK 2 power armor
I know an armored cav captain, while on exercise they lost a bradley fighting vehicle for 6 hours (they got lost and for some dumb shit reason didn't bother to let anyone know, instead hoping they could just find their way to the right place)
“I didn’t know they let ghouls in the enclave” “They don’t that private is just paying off his power armor over the last 500 years, and he’ll be damned if he ain’t following orders”
Great touch that he hasn’t seen him yet for the first two lines, then suddenly gets pissed. In the game he is just looking at you already so it has a different effect here, I like it. And you even got the NV Remnants who referenced overhearing it
Bro I fucking love when the protagonist(?) is silent because you can do so much with their facial expressions Like first he's like "Oh God what am I getting myself into" to "What- uh- I don't have any" to "God fucking dammit" to "FUCK"
I once heard a story that a lost Enclave patrol managed to find their way back to camp because they heard Dornan screaming over the hills and followed his voice.
As someone who have served... If we had power armor in real life? This will be near the exact rant you will hear weekly when private snuffy loses his power armor. Add some more cursing and it would fit perfectly IRL.
Imagine Sgt Dornan is in F3NV and has been watching over the Remnant's hideout until Courier 6 walk in. With assumption of Courier being new recruit, Dornan proceed to rant about "RECRUIT! WHY ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR UNIFORM?" Edit: I was waiting for someone rant at me like Sgt Dornan. You know, for highly immersive Fallout lore experience.
RECRUIT YOU ARE OUT OF UNIFORM AGAIN! GET YOUR ASS IN UNIFORM AND GET TO YOUR POST OR I SWEAR I'LL HAVE YOU SCRAPING THE RUST OFF THE VERTIBIRD EXTERIORS WHILE THEY FLY! NOW GET GOING!
Did some math with some loose evidence for fun. $56 per newspaper according to FO3 newspaper is like $1.50 (8y ago) 37x Private yearly salary is $42,200 (US Army) 37x42,200=$1,561,400 1,561,400x510=796,310,000 Chosen one is like 20years old? (not doing research cause I don't care) Adjust math $765,086,000 Considering the capabilities of the power armor I'd say that's a fair price.
As much as these lines of Dornan are amazing I like the one where he just gets angry that apparently the logistics unit told you that you would get the armor here.
@@blakebaugh Pretty sure that in any army if you just lose the equivalent of a tank, there would be way more consequences than just just a bill that even your great grandchildren would still be paying.
The Courier: "Who's Sergeant Dornan?" Cannibal Johnson: "He was a drill instructor I knew. He was also the meanest bastard I've ever known. Once, he caught this private out of uniform and old Dornan went off on the most ear-blistering rant known to man. It was inspiring."
You know damn well those two Enclave Soldiers are cannibal Johnson and Orion Moreno just sitting there Orion: Johnson why won’t you just shut the f- Cannibal: Shhh Dornan’s at it again Orion: Damn that’s why I have mad respect for this man
The two enclave soldiers outside the bunker reminds me of that one scene where there is the two first order stormtroopers walking aka doing their patrol and then Kylo destroys his room, so they walk the other way.
Man could yell so loudly that through the muffling of his helmet and walls of his building Cannibal Johnson could hear him clearly enough. Imagine being in the room with him if his helmet was off. Hearing dsmage would be a blessing.
And that’s how you get a free military gear. Show up act like a lost private who lost his gear and then get new gear that gets taken out of a paycheck you don’t have.
From experience….. once a guy in my unit lost the small plastic lens cap for his NVG’s and EVERYBODY had to go out and crawl in the dirt looking for it for an hour. We never found it but the sergeant PT’d the dogshit out of us for another hour and a half until he got tired and told another sergeant to come and continue drilling us…..
