THANK YOU Ajahn for saying it is “impossible to let go.” I have tried and tried without much success to “let go.” I have listened to others say to let go, they never really tell you how ... they just say “let go”. And so I was always met with failure. When I heard you say “it is impossible to let go,” something deep in me reacted that sent shivers through my body. And when you gave the ant simile, I knew deep in my heart that this was the reason why I couldn’t let go ... the cause of my failure. It is truly “impossible to let go.” And I needed a Master to say it. Then you gave the reason why ... The ants don’t know the command LET GO. And when I heard that I said to myself, .... neither did I. And a light came on. You said the ants only know what to do “one step ahead” And if they go in the right direction and go down ... then they will reach the floor. Ajahn this was a powerful teaching for me. Thank you.

Instead of saying to simply “let go,” I need to show the Heart that what it is attached to has a lot of DUKKHA. I need to “show my heart” and not tell it. Sadhu!

Your talks are most enlightening!... One area I struggle with is like you I come from a scientific analytical training and can not cross the bridge of faith that there is rebirth... Do you have a talk of your journey from your non spiritual scientific training to your enlightenment of rebirth?...

For Than Ajahn Martin it was his experiences in the practice of samadhi which lead to faith (saddha). If you do not deny rebirth and you keep an open heart, with the attitude "I am not sure, I do not know" and you try to do good and you abstain from evil and you see the benefits in this practice, you will progress As more you practice, the more you will see the truth of the Lord Buddha yourself and your faith will continually increase until certainty will arise in your heart, because you tasted the truth yourself.

Let go mean not being involved. Let go involved understanding the sensation of feelings. Let go is not mere saying. It involve looking at feelings. Unsually feeling arise around the chest. Try and see ot when it arise. Around the chest. When any bad feelings arise, it arise around the chest. If you know what i mean, the meaning of letting go can be known very clearly.

Thank you for your wisdom . One thing I don't understand though is ,as a former scientist.. why you think/ thought that everything should have a reason ..or that people's different luck in life relating to where they were born etc etc isn't simply down to luck and can be attributed to randomness rather than Karma or God's plan ? Buddhism has so much wisdom and understanding ..but it seems like, Christianity and other, many traditions involves blind belief re karma, rebirth etc. You cannot know this .. otherwise please give me the proof .I am only following the Buddha's advice to not believe anything he said but to find it out for oneself.

Practice vipasanna to Awakening. Step 1: It is easy if you follow it carefully. Do not imagine it is difficult. Here are how you practice with simple instructions: Please sit comfortably, relax and feel free. Close your eye and gradually feel your breath or you can put your palm on your abdomen and you can feel when you breath in the abdominal wall RISE and when you breath out the abdominal wall FALL. So You will say in your mind RISING, FALLING, RISING, FALLING and continue on. When this continue you will notice the breath begin to change and be different. Do not worry learn to follow it and experience it change allow it to change. If you can do that you will easily progress in your meditation. Once your breath disappear let it disappear you do not need to find it. Just aware of your mind status as you practice mind will have many tricks to cheat you. Just remember to just aware of your abdominal wall breathing in you say in your mind RISING and when you breathe out the abdominal wall fall and you say in your mind FALLING. Continue just doing that until the RISING and FALLING change and disappear. This is the first step and if you can do that, you will definately progress. Step 2: When breath disappear it will replace by happiness feeling's. Now you stay with that HAPPINESS feeling. As happiness feeling also begin to change just allow it to change and as it change you just AWARE. You will learn to be AWARE and AWARENESS is now the key to bring your meditation to higher level. Step 3: AWARENESS and DETACH must be understood. You will notice various sensation in between as you meditate and they are not important so you have to throw them away. To throw them away you use AWARENESS now you need to really know the meaning of AWARENESS. Once you know how to use AWARENESS in your meditation then you will know how to AWARE of pain as it arise. These pain and body sensation all come in FEELINGS. They come and go. And another type of feeling it is in the MIND. It come in form of THOUGHTS. When it is THOUGHTS or THINKING you must just. AWARE of it and LET IT GO or DETACHMENT. Step 4: Once you are experience in AWARENESS, DETACHMENT you will notice the mind begin to CALM and EASY. You will begin to AWARE the HAPPY feeling. AWARE of that HAPPY feeling which is now your object of concentration. Then as you are in this AWARESS of HAPPY it will begin to change again. You must always have AWARENESS now as you mind keep changing until the mind have no more tricks it will gets tired and STOP. This is UPEKA in meditation terms. You must keep calm and AWARENESS still in your front line of defence. You AWARENESS tell you everything is quiet. Ok that is good don't do anything just stay there and AWARE. Step 5: AWARE, AWARE, AWARE then when it is timely SUDDENLY everything SHUT OFF. AWARWNESS DISAPPEARED. This is CEASEATION OF SAMSARA CONCIOUSNESS IN MEDITATION TERMS. It is the end of samsara existence one has complete the full meditation experience. One is now awaken or is now an ARIYA. Meditate in this way one will experience Enlightment finally. Hope everyone follow this simple instruction to minutes details and you will soon realise the end of birth and death. CEASEATION or NIRODHA SAMAPATHI is the final stage and the end of birth and death is STOP. BUDDHAM SARANAM GACCHAMI
