Here's a breakdown of our current budget. It will change.
20% on Inventory
25% on sales and marketing
25% on salaries
15% on shipping and fulfillment
7% on processing fees
8% in profit
After all that, you're left with around 8% margin.
For a million-dollar business, that's about $80k in profit, roughly $6-8k a month.
To grow, you can't just cut costs everywhere.
It's not easy, Especially when you are alone.
you need a community to share the load with you.
To support you and sanity check your ideas.
If you're in the same boat, let's navigate this journey together.
I have a membership where i am gathering founders that want to or are already at $1mm a year in sales.
It gets easier when we have each other's back
My name is Evan. I invented a crafting product, started selling it online, grew the business to $1M+ and it allowed me to quit my job as a fireman. Now I'm growing that brand to 8 figures while I document the journey.
I can help you do the same.
Let's grow our ecom brands together.

You sir are a very intellectual and conscious person. You WILL get to your goal. Take a step back and see where your biggest potential cost savings is with the lowest barrier to entry. You have done all this work for selling your product, but running the business has just as much potential in efficiency. Your video about a $600 production line in a garage for what costs you double from a 3rd party producer is just a true in all other facets of the business. As margins narrow you will see that 20% savings on a 10% expenditure is what all of a sudden makes you profitable personally.

Excellent video! I would love you to compare and contrast the typical “RU-vid” business as compared to your own - selling a physical product versus selling “an idea” - really enjoying the series !

Wow! That was really insightful! The documentation of the journey you are on will be the one that gets you to those huge numbers. I love how you can just wing it while driving and provide so much valuable information to people. Amazing hustle ability you have to utilize the little bit of free time available to produce extra content that will pay off in the long run.

With the upcoming Ai, which I believe Apple will release later this year, I think a lot of your difficulties will be eliminated and costs of things which are not as necessary will come down because of it. When you can have a personal Ai, which is local onto your phone or computers, it will eliminate and streamline so much of your businesses.

You’re hopping between cash flow and profitability. Eg buying inventory = cash flow consideration. But inventory doesn’t hit your P+L, it’s on your Bal Sheet. It doesn’t hit your profitability until you convert those assets into a sale, creating a liability against the sale revenue. Your sentiment is right on though - after start/scale/exiting x3 in the manufacturing and goods space, I am in agreement with you. I was more cash-rich and profitable p/$ earned at 6 figures, than I was at 7 and 8 figures. I experienced it all 3 times, even after applying learned lessons each time.

Just 20% on marketing is totally wrong for e-commerce. You need to spend every available dollar because marketing = traffic, traffic + good product = revenue.

I own a custom woodworking and cabinet company I had 5 employees a 8000 sq ft shop that cost me 3500 a month and was working 70 hours a week . The best thing I ever did was down size to a 2500 square ft shop in my backyard with no employees. I now work 30 hours a week now and I do alot less work. my profit margin went from 25 percent to 60 to 70 and im happy ., i know I will always have to work but the headache of having employees is gone. Ask your self if I spent no money on advertising and employees how much would you sell and and how much will you make with that formula. Because 2 million in sales and you're not making money what's the point .

Becareful with employees . Ask yourself this are you training someone to start their own business similar to yours and now they are your competition. Because no matter how good you are to them they all have that thought of owning their own business especially if the market gets bigger competition will come.

Even the worst recessions offer wonderful buying opportunities in the markets if you're cautious. Volatility can also result in excellent short-term buy and trade opportunities.
