I don't think I've ever uploaded an unedited flight. But here you go, from take off to landing, nothing removed. The winds were CRAZY this day. Made for a very bumpy ride. Normally dodging a lot of traffic going through the Class D's, but nobody else up this day.

I'll keep an eye out for that wind when it gets to the east coast later this week. I had a good reminder this weekend that even a headwind can have its own problems. The wind was forecast to be brisk but straight down the runway. In reality it kept switching between a left and right quartering headwind, often several times during a takeoff or landing roll. Not a problem for a trike, but it can be a bit of an issue in a Cub. I must have looked like someone furiously churning butter and tap dancing at the same time in the cockpit.

Dan your takeoff departure route was really buffeted by those winds. Maybe I just never paid enough experience to this type of wind. When you were flying over those Dallas area subdivisions it look as though I was seeing the similar imagery I get when looking at Google Maps. It always fascinates me how city planners decide how all the infrastructure and subdivisions are laid out.

With heavy wind seems like you would shorten downwind instead of extending

Shorter = can make the runway if the engine dies. Longer = more time to gauge and adjust to the winds. Everything is a give and take.

Usually the video camera smooths things out (GoPro's anyway). If that's the case you were getting pounded lol I don't "mind" flying in that kind of air but I don't enjoy it and avoid it if I can. Kind of like that traffic that you didn't see lol Nice work on that landing though!

Nice day, great pic's. The picture quality in general is very good, and you get to have a stabilized view of the interesting features. I much prefer this view to the through-the-window -- plexi that has seen some use is just not very clear. I have trouble with the tearing at 180 and the motion compensation drops, though. I guess they need a bit more processor to make it look exactly right. The things overheat enough as it is, I suppose. Is that a new Best Tugs conspicuously attached to Lola? I may have missed some mention of it.

If you get bored, just head a little further south (and west) to check out Isenhower Field. I would bet that Clifton Aero could fix whatever issue you were having. Not as much runway though...

Interesting! How do you "tell the story" from the one vantage point (and audio)? I feel like I got a great overview (literally) of Fort Worth. As the resolution on 360 cameras improves, and you can zoom in tighter on stuff on the ground and the pilot, for example, this single-shot approach will be even better. I like how you held steady at the approach and landing and we could see the shadow growing as you descended. What mount did you use? (I assume this was on a tie-down bracket.)

Yeah the quality has a lot to go on the 360. I have a hard mount under my wing .

They’re all priced the same, so doesn’t matter where go. I got mine straight from GoPro. Or maybe it was BestBuy.

The stitching on that camera is pretty poor. Maybe some settings can improve it? I would expect GoPro to do a better job than what I see in this video. With my insta360 One X the stich line on anything farther than about 2 meters is barely noticeable or not seen at all.
