Before retiring down south we lived in the mountains of North west NJ. We had bears around just about every day. We had deer, coyotes, fox, raccoons, possums, bobcats, and we did witness seeing a cougar once! I’ll never forget that. But you acclimate to your surroundings. I was never afraid but I was respectful and cautious at times.😘🙏🏻❤✨

The garden looks great. Something has been nibbling on my stuff, so I finally put wiring around each item that love to nibble on. I live on a mountain. There are foxes, hawks, owls, raccoons, skunk, groundhogs, bears, bobcats, and couragers. Sometimes I go walking towards the cabin, which is were we have spotted bears around. I have also seen footprints in the field on the side. Occasionally we have dogs from doen the road show up. The worse was a husky attacking and killing 35 chickens. Then the husky went for my cousin's cat.(The cat climbed a tree.) Another neighbor took care of the husky after it attacked their chickens.

When we lived in Talihina, at the base of Buffalo Mountain, we saw bear, mountain lion, and all kinds of snakes and things. It was really cool. Made taking walks a little scary, but just had to be careful. We were living in their world really. Wasn’t their fault someone built a hospital in the middle of their yard!! lol. Your wrap is really pretty, I’ve been looking at Wrapunzel trying to figure out what I want!

Interesting. We live in East Central Kansas. Our Ks wildlife and parks have said there are no mountain lions here but there have been sightings for years. There was also a black bear that wondered in following the wildlife refuge nearby a few years back.

Wonderful walk through your garden! I noticed the burro carving in the background. My husband dreams of owning one. He sez they offer better protection than guard dogs. Restful Sabbath (really dig ur head scarf)🌻 🌻

We have coyotes, coydogs, fox, raccoons, opossums, minks, weasels..hawks, & occasionally an eagle & deer.. no woods, not far from towns, but you betcha we’re ready for them. All I have for them is 2 barn cats who are locked in at night & chickens, which are in at night..but they will show up in the daytime when the crops are up because chickens like corn & beans & get lost out there

Those are great seed saver zucchini!!! Those wolf dogs could be like Cujo in a bad situation, even a good situation they need to go. When we were stationed in Northern California, base housing went on lockdown until they darted a HUGE mountain lion. It was found in a culvert. We live in Texas. We hear packs of coyotes every evening and early morning before dawn. We have a trail cam in several places on our property. Mostly just rattlesnakes and scorpions scare me here. I don’t like anything like that I don’t see and I happen upon.

Your security light doesn’t effect your garden? Plants need some darkness don’t they?

Not really. When we lived in Alaska, 1 am was lighter than what the security light puts out. People's gardens up there actually greatly benefit from the 24 light. I saw the biggest head of cabbage I have ever seen at the fair. Over 80 lbs!!!
