Tanioka's Seafood and Catering in Waipahu, Honolulu specializes in fresh, locally sourced ahi and aku, they are also known for their extensive pupus and catering menu. Signature items include their famous limu poke, crisp and juicy fried chicken, Grandma Tanioka's ahi patties, Grandma Sakuma's maki sushi, Aunty Betty's inari sushi, fresh sashimi, traditional Hawaiian dishes, and the best tasting spicy ahi and spam musubi in Hawaii!
I was told by some friends that Tanioka's is the place to get the best Musubi on the island and also the spot where many locals go for poke and other local ready made foods, so we took a drive to Waipahu to check it out. We enjoyed everything we tried! Spam Musibi as good. Not sure how good a Spam Musibi can get and from what I've been told, Tanioka's is it! The poke was fresh and tasty! The pork served in the poke bowls was also nicely done. The bonus for us was this random ube treat (or at least I think it was ube) we bought. It was surprisingly delicious!!
Get there early because this place gets packed!!

Hi! Just wanting to fill in a few of your food gaps. The pork is KALUA (kah-lu-ah) pork. The tomato salad is lomi lomi (lu-me lu-me), also known as lomi lomi salmon. The ube treat looks like a haupia (how-pi-ah) ube bar. I know this video is a little older, so you may have learned how to correctly identify and pronounce these dishes by now. But just wanted to share if you or your audience hadn't. Good luck with the rest of your transition to O'ahu.

Thank you so much for that. And nope, you’re the first person to correctly identify the dishes for me. Look forward to the big move and having more Haupia!!
