Thanks for the information! I've done a few interviews now and I've been struggling to answer the more technical questions about accounting. My degree is in physics and I didn't do an internship, do you have any advice about how to learn more about accounting? I haven't managed to find many internet resources but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place

RU-vid is a good place to start there's some useful playlists on my channel explaining the interview process - you don't need to be an expert in accounting to ace the interview. Many people join each year from non-finance backgrounds therefore the interviews aren't the most technical.

My biggest worry about pursuing the accounting field is that I don’t wanna be doing exams in my mid 20’s, I picked the wrong course😩

True but you’ll find most professional careers will involve taking exams in mid 20s

would you need to go to uni and study finance or related courses then acca qualification to become a CFO in the future or could you become a CFO with the acca qualification

No you can become a cfo with just the ACCA qualification as it’s a senior position other qualifications such as the MBA may help

Yh good idea - gives you some experience so can help you decide if it's a long term career you want to pursue, opportunity to get paid, and helps your CV stand out - but priority should be given to graduate applications as obv that's the long-term role.

Wa alaykum as Salam yes they did so when you complete the application form you’d have to enter your predicted grades and these will be checked against the entry requirements so yes they do matter!

Whether a role is haram or not depends on your role and responsibilities if you’re working for a financial services firm ie banking, insurance or involved in marketing, selling to, assisting haram entities then I follow the opinion this is haram

Is there any short courses you’ll recommend to do during my Accounting degree that’ll be useful for my CV and for getting a job later on and also do I have to wait until the end of my degree to write the Acca exams?

I would recommend courses with Excel, Powerpoint, and Access and then if you have time working with SQL, Python, Tableau, Microsoft Power Bi. Analytical skills are the future and will be highly desired!
