Like many other potential hobbies, 3D printing is a wide and deep rabbit hole! Because most of us cannot sculpt, we turn to robots (3D printers) to help us turn our imagination into something tangible. I am still debating with myself to learn all about not just the printing part but also the painting aspects - all of which are a very daunting mountain of information and skill to acquire, versus just continuing to purchase items made by professionals which I can then immediately enjoy. This video helped me understand where the files can be obtained. I enjoyed your presentation and appreciate the closing outtake. I have done something similar when teaching online classes. I will record a 10+ minute lecture, go to preview it, and in haste click the delete/record button versus the save button and do a face palm such as yours. (after a lot of NSFW language of course) 😧

Also, it may be for kids, but tinkercad is great! After finishing a model, it may seem choppy, nut you can easily smooth it out in blender using the modifiers, just look up a tutorial. Just a tip for easier modeling.

Looks like CGTrader royalty-free license says you can't sell the printed model: Royalty Free License allows you to use the product without the need to pay royalties or other license fees for multiple uses, per volume sold, or some time period of use or sales. You can use it as long as it is incorporated into the product and the 3rd party cannot retrieve it individually in either the digital or physical form. You cannot resell the model you bought in the digital or printed form, but can use it in your commercial projects multiple times after paying for it just once.

20:22 At this particular point, you can actually add in the Price is Right Lose horn effect as his expression changed. LET'S TEST THIS OUT! 30 Seconds later... YUP! Worth it! When it comes actually making your own models, it's the epitome of getting it for free. HOWEVER, it is not with out spending time and effort getting the results you want. Trust me! I know how it feels. Anything cosplay related, I can make it on my own, but time will be consumed if you don't know how to approach it or you come across a certain detailed part that will actually consume 1 whole day. I will say this as a beginner of selling my own 3d files. If you are planning to sell your models on line, please check your normals on the models to make sure that they print correctly! For example, if you wanted to print some documents like a book, you will have to print the odd pages first and the even pages last on an inkjet printer. If you mistakenly print the other information on the same side as the pages that had the information on it, it will be come unreadable! In 3d modeling and printing, make sure that all faces are shown out into the 3d space so the slicer can determine that it's an actual shell being printed when it creates the g code.

First time seeing your video. Very nice! I'll let you eviscerate me: I think having some 3D design skills is pretty helpful, especially if you find something that's MOSTLY what you want, but not exactly. I've designed some practical items, such has trim rings for my deck rails, an Apple Pencil holder for my iPad, stuff like that. Where it's helped is that I have some promotional items for my business. In that case, I'll use an item, then use Fusion 360 to add my information to the model (imprinting). That said, I'm trying to expand my design skills, especially with Blender, so I can do some looney tunes and other characters - I'm an animation fan. Similar to what RedDadSteve does on Printables. I agree that it's not absolutely critical, but if you don't learn at least something simple like Tinkercad, you might be limiting your option unnecessarily - something like Tinkercad is pretty easy to pick up for basic stuff. Good advice about non-printable files.

I want to see the actual model so I know I can print all of his artillery pieces that makes WM iconic. Thanks for the content. I'm new and just received my 3D printer which I haven't even unboxed yet. I'm interested in printing miniature figures and things to go with my 1/32 scale Slot Car Track. Please point me to any videos you may have on miniatures in my scale. Thanks again

Thanks for sharing! I just received my Sovol sv01 pro (thanks to you) and I was wondering what Machine settings did you input into your splicer? I'm using UltiCura and the default settings looks off. Thanks for your help. Keep up the Great work.
