Join us as we search for Chrysocolla while we revisit the Wind River. We wanted to thank everyone who had a chance to come here. We appreciate everyone has treated this area with respect and the environmental impact has been minimal.
Chrysocolla is a minor copper ore. It is usually tossed out because it's high silica content makes refining inefficient. The Chrysocolla in this area can be milky white and is always massive or brecciated. There is also several other types of green material in the area that is very similar to what the Chrysocolla appears as in this region. Chrysocolla's hardness is typically softer than quartz but can range in hardness depending on the silica content.

Ha! When you were describing what you could find in/by the river, I heard one of the things you listed as "lots of sea maggot". I thought, 'Ew! Get out of the water!' I did figure out what you *actually* said. It gave me a good laugh.

My grandfather got an epic recording of screams (possible Sasquatch) right in that area in the early 80's.

Thanks for your wonderful outdoor videos. Silica comes in so many beautiful varieties. The color of the agates varies with the oxygen present when solidified. The black of basalt is no oxygen. Black to red to yellow with other minerals adding other colors to our wonderful silica deposits. Basalt erodes to the red clay soils which frees the silica agates which do not erode from the atmospheric CO2. This process is called the Laterite Process. What wonderful views of the streams you present. Thanks again for sharing.

I found a lovely small green stone with a perfect hole in it years ago and it’s been hanging round my neck ever since. May I send you a photo of it? I’ve asked reddit and others but no luck. Also I’m scared to tumble it and make it shine because I feel it may crack and It’s a treasure to me. Are there other “softer” techniques in order to make a stone shine while dry?

Sir, I think your partner may have missed her calling as a hand model. It is good you are showcasing her talents.

Another good video and nice that you are able to get out and explore. I like that you share the locations and talk some about your finds. I am confused about your hand model in your videos. Is she in the witness protection program , on the FBI's most wanted list? Not my business and if she wants to hide from the camera then she should. That doesn't change the fact that you make good videos and find some great areas with amazing finds. The best part is you are within my range to go search for my own rocks.

She is FBI's most wanted! Hahaha she doesn't like the camera so much. Thanks for the kind words, I should be developing a good catalog of locations in that area soon. Skamania county is amazing
