Join us as we search for Chrysocolla while we revisit the Wind River. We wanted to thank everyone who had a chance to come here. We appreciate everyone has treated this area with respect and the environmental impact has been minimal.
Chrysocolla is a minor copper ore. It is usually tossed out because it's high silica content makes refining inefficient. The Chrysocolla in this area can be milky white and is always massive or brecciated. There is also several other types of green material in the area that is very similar to what the Chrysocolla appears as in this region. Chrysocolla's hardness is typically softer than quartz but can range in hardness depending on the silica content.
