Also, great points about GGG's apparent lack of planning for the types of scenarios that can come up (i.e. red card, different formation from opponent, etc.). It's wild because much of the commentary around GGG's original hiring and since that time has been his dedication to analytics (Tac mentioned this) and attention to detail. For someone so highly praised for his process with respect to preparation, he's incredibly unprepared for almost any scenario that deviates slightly from his initial game-plan.

As always Pete, you being a voice for the fans is very much appreciated. All of you guys, thank you.

I would have rather subbed both Pepi & Balogun off they weren't really doing much in the first half and subbed in Scally & Richards; playing with 5 defenders & 4 midfielders. Eventually, we'll sub on Malik for Gio and just play counterattack. Also, I would have put in Maloney for Aaronson.

One other positive. As bad as USMNT qualification was, it was not as bad as Mexico's qualification...

You guys should check out the highlights from the game and freeze the video at the point of the long pass being made for T&T's first goal. It demonstrates so much of what you are saying. Basically their right-back plays the pass from right around the midfield line, we have both Pepi/Balogun offering no defensive help to the midfield (they are flat with each other 10 yards up in the offensive half, essentially matched directly to T&T's CBs, leaving the rest of our team 7v8), there are gaping holes in our midfield positioning because we are outnumbered in the heart of the field, Ream is stepped into midfield to make up for that outnumbered scenario by covering a withdrawn forward that should be covered by a true D-mid if we made the right sub, and CCV is left alone to cover their striker with tons of space to be exploited behind our high-line when we should have been bunkered into a low block. It represents so many tactical errors, all that originate from GGG depleting our midfield and not instructing a different posture to get to halftime. Honestly it deserves to be memorialize somewhere and hung up with the words "What the fuck is this Gregg?".

Under BJ the team looked free flowing & creative , but under Gregg regardless of the players on the pitch , it’s slow methodical, & forced. Gregg values ball security & procession to the point of killing creativity & flow. Overthinking what is simple. ALLOW PLAYERS FREEDOM TO PLAY !

Remember all the noise about the 2014 team vs the current USMNT? How do you like ‘em now? Good to see Jermaine Jr. get some ❤ He was criticized for years for too much 🔥 Semi-finals of #CopaAmerica? Semi-finals? There are 6 CONMEBOL teams better than USA 🇺🇸 now. In 2016 #Copa, USA 🇺🇸 lost 4-0 to ARG 🇦🇷 and MEX 🇲🇽 lost 7-0 to CHI 🇨🇱. It’s not the #GoldCup.

A big part of this that no one talks about... how is LOSING TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO going to bring casual fans to usmnt soccer? It doesn't. It probably turned casual fans away tbh. Every win counts when you're building a brand. Now it's just a losing brand that we're promoting... and who wants to be associated with being a loser???

You guys are right about the winning away thing, it is a mentality thing, I mean winning away to a CONCACAF team isnt always straightforward, but say for example Costa Rica play France in Costa Rica, does anyone think France don't win that game? You have to actually believe you can win away instead of creating excuses for why you can't

The USA ranked 11th in the world, losing to the 99th ranked team in the world is not acceptable. Just imagine Argentina(1) losing to Curacao(89). Not a chance. The problem here is the coaching and not the players. Heck, discipline has become an issue now.

The players didn’t care about winning. They knew, we are good, we will still qualify even if we lose.

The 202e, the past 12 month there has been no improvement with the Gregg Berhalter ability to improve the USMNT overall game. Indeed, we qualified for Copa America and that is the minimum.

In other countries the fans voices matter so much more. They demand to be heard and respected. We need to start holding our federation and players accountable and stop accepting that his garbage mentality. This is the only sport we don’t have a big dog mentality. While we are criticizing GGG for his reaction to the Dest red, can we include criticism that he didn't use all of his subs? Also, I'm OK with "just qualify" as a mindset in the 85+ minute, but not the 45th minute. I said a version of this as a reaction to one of Tac's videos, but it bears repeating. What odds would it take for you to bet on Brazil losing 2-1 to US after going a man down while leading 1-0 in next years tournament? What odds would it take for you to bet Brazil losing at all if the score was 0-0 when a Brazilian was ejected? ('94 throwback for you)

If we have to have a bench manager who is American because of budget I go with Dempsey or Jones. With the "talent" USMNT has, it is quite hard to believe we can just barely "get the job done" against the like of T&T. Whereas, take Japan as an example, trash the like of Turkey and Germany (ok, they are just "friendly"). GGG is definitely the biggest factor holding back the whole team. Even Hudson or BJ are clear better choice than him. Doesn't make sense about the manager selection of the USSF

The over the top hate on Dest from the "big" sports media has been nuts. Granted, the guy lost his sh*t, and he has to learn and figure that out. But really...people talk banning him, etc. He's clearly our best right back. He'll have to kind of humble himself with the other players, but man....

It feels so repetitive to keep bringing up Gregg. But everytime the camera panned to him after the red card, he looked lost. Like a deer in headlights. Clearly he had no idea what to do tactically. 2 striker formation was the right call considering who was available. But who continues to play two strikers after going a man down?

Best format for usmnt fans. Former players have limitations to their critique for self preservation.

USA really needs to put their game up against teams they should win and compete. With the way they are playing, they won't make it far into Copa American. Colombia, Ecuador and others will get that hunger mentality to score goals when they see opposing teams bleeding. And now that Dest has that hot-head antics, he'll be a liability if he doesn't fix that. Opposing team see that as a target to provoke him the minute he gets on the field.

Its a USMNT version of Friday Night Tights. Great council guys! Hail. Yes, COPA America is THE priority now. Nations League Semis is a tune up for Copa, which should be treated just like a World Cup. The decisions and lead up to Copa American 24 should be no different as if it was World Cup 2026. Copa 24 is a World Cup as far as I am concerned. I am VERY worried about goalkeeping right now. Matt Turner has regressed in the past couple months. Behind Dest, he was the clear #2 person to blame for the T&T poor performance. Forrest dropped him and skipped Horvath too!! My 1 defense of GGG is that he is from the Era of USA us going to outhustle everyone. We were gritty and tactful but when we faced teams supremely better than us, we got beat. This generation does not have that "American" mentality. We are not gritty and tactful. We don't play like Americans. We look like a collection of Europeans who all play their way. Greg doesn't know how to coach the "American" into them!

I know Americans are unhappy and they themselves don’t know why, but I do. Americans are unhappy because 11v11 vs Trinidad, the USA only managed to score once. And, the defeat in Port of Spain was a reminder of the failure to quality, in similar fashion that it is very possible for this team to lose against the regions top 10 opponents. Still. It is American philosophy that they are entitled to go into another man’s country and beat them because they have more resources and in this case “better players”

This teams needs a real leader that could push this team. It has to be someone that is undroppable. Brooks could be drop. That’s why 2014 will win against this team

We all love sergino dest cause is a very, very skillful player, but his opponents understand hoe good of a player he is and always tryna make him mad and angry cause he's gona react and his minutes gonna be over the rest of the games. Is like this way, most players already know that that sergino weakness had to do with a temper issues, and he's gonna react and get ejected and it will be over with him. But he needs to watch out for that all the time.

The games suck, from a players pperspective, they make no sense to a star, injuries etc, esp, concacaf, imposter refs, violent fans, even in the brasil, vs, arg, fights fouls it was total schitt!!!
