1. turn on dark mode. 2. get screen protector & case. 3. get a pro controller if you play dock mode a lot. 4. watch reviews of games before buying a game. 5. buy Nintendo online for a year, it isn’t that expensive.

The switch is perfect for me. My parents are divorced and I cant aford to buy 2 game setups. I just take my switch with me every week and the dock is easy to carry around my 2 houses

For anyone getting a Switch, I'd advise getting a screen protector as well. For a Nintendo console, the Switch is fairly delicate.

Bought one this summer! Got Minecraft, BOTW and Pokemon Shield so far. Enjoying it a lot, just wish games were cheaper

At one point I incorrectly mentioned the Switch having 5.5 - 9 hours of batter life. I should have said 4.5 - 9 hours.

When I first got the Nintendo switched I had no idea what to start with. I saw that legend of Zelda had some good reviews so bought it. I didn’t think I’d like it because I never play storyline games, but omg I was BLOWN AWAY with that game. Also, you do not need to have any knowledge of passed Zelda games. BOTW was the first legend of Zelda game I’ve ever played, and since the guy you are playing lost his memory, you learn about what happened at the same pace as him. I just recently bought animal crossing NH and it continues to impress me and keep me playing for hours lol. I reccomend starting with animal crossing and legend of zelda. Both will keep you entertained for a long time.

The switch lite isn’t a switch if it can’t switch

It's weird that none of the Nintendo Switch games have me coming back for more. The only thing I'm looking forward to on the console is animal crossing

Love the pacing of these videos, not so fast it sounds like you've had too much caffeine like so many others and not too slow you feel like your time is being wasted. I can take it all in and understand what I heard/watched by the end of it, even when I'm doing something else, good job! 👍

My advice is to savings, as the switch is a much bigger investment than any other platform. only get exclusives, as switch games are more expensive than buying them on other platforms (as well as having lower visuals). opting for other controller brands is a good way to cut down on costs, you will miss out on some features, but Nintendo charges a lot for controllers and other accessories. If you plan on playing handheld mode a lot, buying grips is a wise investment.

My wife and I pulled the trigger on getting the family a Switch for Christmas during the Black Friday sales this year. This video contains a lot of useful information for a new owner like myself. It also gives me something to do while I not-so-patiently wait for Christmas morning so we can finally dive in to the family fun!

I recommend playing mario games first, because you will get used to the switch and also, it’s really fun!

This is what we need - folders -wider screen -themes -internet browser - Netflix - no joycon drift - good eshop - and a great online services - more features. - powerful enough to run next gen games - good graphics

I don't know why but I was extremely happy when he said the prices in Canadian.

I got so scared when you said there where 2 versions of the regular switch and one of them had significantly less battery life. I did check and I have the newer one. Thank god

Note that you CAN transfer your downloaded games from one sd card to switch internal memory, and vice versa. So you can more easily upsize to a bigger SD card this way

As a new Switch owner - a screen protector and pro controller are a must.

I actually have the lite, just got it actually. It’s been amazing since I don’t really have other people to play with and I’m never in one spot. Not to mention I love watching tv while I’m playing (yes, I’m Weird... I know). Also since I’ve never had an actual switch, I don’t know what it’s like to have the detachable joycons and what not (ok now I sound like my grandma😂) I got the lite because I really missed the portable era, being someone who had all of the game boys and the last thing I had being a 2ds (I think??) (😑 someone stole it though but we won’t go there) So anyway in closing, if you don’t plan to play multiplayer or any types of just dance games or even if you travel ALOT maybe bus rides to and from school and stuff like that I’d recommend the switch lite because it’s more portable and lightweight.. and compared to my cousin’s regular switch it feels less “breakable “ (honestly I don’t know if that last bit even made sense)

I’m getting a switch in three days and I’m honestly so excited lol. I didn’t go for the normal Nintendo games because they’re priced up for the holidays, but I did get a few less popular games!

Screen protector is important for both the standard and Lite models that's the first thing that should be purchased, then the microSD card (128GB and up). For controllers you can go the Pro Controller & Joy Con route or if you have the switch's dock use the 8bitdo bluetooth receiver to use your Xbone, DualShock 4, other Bluetooth controllers that you might already have.

Fun fact if u go into themes and select black rather than white ur battery goes down slightly slower when ur in the home screen I also recommend turning on the ability to view ur battery percentage and not buying a screen protector as a good quality case is enough

It would be great to have a new version of this video, but mentioning each genre and a few of the game that fit there. Jrpg: xeno 1, 2, three houses, octopath, etc. Shooter: splatoon, doom And with an emphasis on exclusives like Astral Chain

I like the joycon and the grip that came in the box. I'm not picky. Some people complain about everything. Probably because it's Nintendo.

You guys should definitely start off with Touhou Genso Wanderer (the reloaded one) and Super Meat Boy including Castle Crashers. These are superb indie games and they're also kinda kid friendly just like the good old flash games on Newgrounds.

I bought the animal crossing edition switch and I’m now just watching every video about Nintendo to prepare while I wait for its arrival lol

Good briefing of what the console is what it offers. I, personally, was expecting something like "if you're buying this for a kid between 4 and 8, these are the games they might like" or "if you haven't had a nintendo console since the SNES or N64, there are new DKC and Mario games", or "if you love RPGs, then these are the main ones in the console". And "if you're buying this for your two kids, buy another controller so the original joycons dont wear out so quickly". But great video still

I hope Nintendo remakes the Harvest Moon games for the switch.. I always loved playing those back in the day. They remind me a lot of Animal Crossing but with more in depth story lines

I hope they release all the Neptunia games on the Switch. Played them on PC and vita, would love to play them again on the Switch. Those are great handheld games. It's a stretch, but I hope the original trilogy gets released on PS3 get ported to other systems.

I know this video is a little old but still very helpful. I walk into GameStop stores looking at Nintendo material but no idea how it all works. I want to get s system and so I am researching information and the latest info to figure out what exactly I want to get. I do love the games you recommended as firsts. Especially Odyssey! I didn't really know about the on-line play and so I will be exploring that also. I'm trying to figure out now why some game cases are smaller than other and how to load them to the Switch.

This was really great and helpful too. I'm thinking about buying the Nintendo switch lite since I prefer to play games in handheld mode most of the time. I changed my mind about buying the Nintendo switch v2 since I don't really play games on the tv that much anymore and the Nintendo switch lite is more portable and cheaper too.

I got a switch it's so worth it. :) However, I did spend more money on Switch accessory than Switch itself. Such as Memory card, Screen protector, Carrying case, Protector case, Ground Loop Noise Isolator, USB C cable, ethernet port, extra Joycon, and pro controllers. And top of that games. Still love my switch.

MHGen, Skyrim, diablo 3, dragons dogma, and darksouls. You’re good for the next three years.
