Retired Navy. Remember when it was just a sand beach. The little boats would bring us from the Ship to the beach. We use to buy beer on the boat for our ride in. She been their a long time.Their use to be little bars on the beach. One bar had a monkey who would steal your beer, and one bar had a snake to put around your neck for pictures. Those were the days.

GP nice video I like your discussions with folks. By the way, no foot massage is better than O-Ring! I will also say that Nemo's Massage on Soi Diana (right next to LK Metro entrance) has a great deal where you get 2hr massage for 350b + tip! You can mix and match massages too, do 1hr foot then 1hr oil or do 2hr foot or whatever. Great deal. I gotta say I have become addicted to those kebabs too. After a night of partying and drinking a kebab or two goes down very well. I've visited Oscar and Istanbul Kebab a number of times on my recent trip. Regarding good location hotels I can recommend Intimate Hotel just off 2nd road across from Soi 12. Nothing against Hermann hotel, but hotel Intimate is 1/2 the price and is decent hotel. Dynasty Inn across the street is okay too for a bit cheaper even.

I love the friendly attitude of the sales lady towards humans and animals alike ! Fantastic to know there are wild animals on the beach other than rats...

Asian streets amaze me every time.. I have a friend in Tacloban Philippines that is a retired police chief and when we decided to start a big bike riding club, he told me the traffic laws and enforcement or lack thereof. The only strictly enforced law is go as fast or slow as you want, but just don't hit anyone! I see the 40kmph painted on that road and just looking at traffic, don't see a single one doing 25! lol! but like you say, keep your head on a swivel and don't be an idiot. communicate as you show by waving bikes into the safest lane of travel and almost all the time, cooperation is their first though, not like the American way of "git-um"! Is walking street where i want to be at? I may come in a month or so. Dont really want to stay in a hotel. I just came back from Patong beach in december and i was 1 mile away from Bangla road and stayed in an 80 sq meter apt which i liked!!! I stayed 1 month in bangkok in april and 1 month in patong beach. I never made it to Pattaya
