As a resident of the Big Island, this was a really good video! Don't forget to check out the tiny towns in between the big ones -- lots of rich history and small businesses to check out. Reminder to all visitors and potential visitors: don't touch the wildlife here. Alot of them are endangered and carry felony charges.
We loved the big island! We stayed in Kona for our honeymoon 16 yrs ago at Kona Village Resort, which sadly got destroyed by a huge storm a number of years ago. Such a fun place with so many options to do and see! Thanks for sharing 😁
Nice quick video. Gives enough information so others can do more research on their interests. One advantage of vacation rentals is that you can cook your own meals, saving not only $ but time as well. Fortunate to have visited 2x (from CA), Hilo side. Yes, count on it raining everyday, just carry a waterproof windbreaker.
Mahalo for watching! See the description for more info on our favorite resorts. Need more info on what to do and where to eat? Check out our Big Island Wayfinder Itienrary: thehawaiivacationguide.com/BigIsland.
we stayed at king's land by hilton in waikoloa village and would highly reccommend it. much more affordable than the fairmont an other luxury hotels but extremely nice, comfortable beds, and great pools.
I can't wait to get out there next summer!! I know I won't wanna come back! You two make GREAT video's!! I can't wait to see more from ya! Much respect and support from Yuma, AZ. 👍👍
Thanks for another great video. I hope Kauai is next. That is the one island I really want to know what to do and where to stay if I visit Hawaii again.
we are supposed to be in Kaua'i right now but had to delay the trip. We are heading over soon! We love Kauai for the outdoor activities and laid-back hotels.
Great video!! Planning to head there in December because on our way to Oahu a couple of weeks back we had a 12 hour flight delay, so they gave us credits for future flights within one year. Probably going to visit the Big Island in december!! Also a question, is there more rainfall in the winter than in the summer? Thank you for the helpful info!!
Good choice for the Big Island in December. That is the Big Island's most popular time for visitors. There is more rainfall in December. January and February are usually the wettest time of year. @@TheHawaiiVacationGuide watching your video now. We stayed at sheraton room 2319 GREAT VIEW 👍 we decided to view the Mantarays it looked scary but we did actually get in the water from a boat 🚢 to snorkle.( I heard your voice in my head when u said TIP Get IN THE WATER. we also did the zipline like Jordan and we loved those 2 waterfalls * Akaka & 🌈* in the beginning first 3 days we stayed at condos on Alii Dr (Kona Makai- 3303 someone post a RU-vid video, but it looks so much better in person
@@queenie4937 You had an epic trip! Congrats! Good job getting in the water and clipping into the zipline. We are looking forward to going back but Kauai is next on the agenda!
we are planning to stay for 8 days in the Big island. would you recommend staying 4 days to Kona then 4 days to Hilo?! or just stay on one side of the island then just drive around from one side to the other?!
Consider one or two nights on the Hilo side. With Kilauea erupting right now, a day at the park is good and another day for the sights on the Hamakua Coast and Hilo. If you have more on your list, then add another day! Have a great trip! We have our legendary Big Island itinerary if you need more planning info: thehawaiivacationguide.com/bigisland/
Hi guys, love your videos! I wanted to ask you if Hapuna beach is good for swimming / snorkling in March… Are there big waves or is rather calm…? Would appreciate your help in that matter as we are planning our holidays …
Your videos are my go-to source to plan our Nov 2022 trip. Seriously considering 2-3 nights glamping in Pahoa for the experience before a week in sunny Maui. We’re in a different stage of life than you (emptynesters) and would love the quiet solitude. Found a deal on an interesting “cabin,” but am wary, bc I don’t see your mention of that town anywhere. Are we off track? TYIA
Great video! :) Thank you, guys! Wanted to stay at Sheraton Kona in December, but their website says that it's permanently closed! :(( Do you know why?
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Not being critical and to each their own. But just a safety comment. 🤔 . . . airbags are designed to stop an adult body from hitting the dash, feet will be no contest.💝🙏
Just wanted to remind everyone that plans to visit Hawaii, don't touch or harass the marine animals. So many tourist are putting up social media videos of them harassing the animals that Hawaii has increased the fine to $50,000! And we will hunt them down in whatever state or country they are from and press charges. If they don't pay the fines then a warrant will be issued and they can be arrested if they EVER return to the islands. Also, we love the wild marine animals like our own ohana, and can get very aggressive in protecting them. We see, we watch, we act. Please show ALOHA to all our family.
YES! This is SO important and we try to always make sure we put it in our videos related to swimming and snorkeling. But thank you for calling it out here as well.
