Even as a Pies fan Dusty’s don’t argue is a thing of beauty. In his prime he almost seemed to go out of his way to run at blokes while he had the ball just to smash them away. And so many times he would sprint into a 1 on 3, grab the ball and send all 3 opponents to the deck as he ran off.
Koutoufides holding the ball with one hand.Peter Matera running 50 metres with ball then kicking 50 metres for a goal.Kevin Bartlett bouncing the ball, getting grabbed and getting the free kick.
Which is, and always was, a free kick. Being tackled while in possession', bouncing the ball is considered 'in possession' and not disposing properly is a free kick. Then again, correct disposal went out of the window once the term "umpire interpretation" became common. Now with four umps the game is pure shite.
1. MISSED mark decision 2. Inconclusive angle 3. CORRECT insufficient intent (force, direction, no players in vicinity) 4. MISSED HTB - PO evade 5. INCORRECT MI 6. CORRECT non holding decision CORRECT non HTB. (GC player dragged it in. not Saad) 7. INCORRECT insufficient intent (worst decision of the year) 8. CORRECT HTB - PO B&S (Although it looks like a bump, Butler placed his hands around Ward making it a legal tackle) 9. MISSED mark 10. CORRECT non HTB - no prior oppurtunity. (taking it out of the ruck is not prior oppurtunity) 11. CORRECT non DRB (Although the port player deliberately handballs the ball through for a behind he has every right to do that because he is under immediate pressure) 12. CORRECT non insufficient intent (It cannot be insufficient intent as the ball hits Spargo's leg) 13. MISSED HTB (pretty poor miss, umpire thought he handballed it) 14. MISSED HTB - evade (hands go from low to high which is and EVADE)
I love your channel bro, but I have to make one slight correction on something you said. The stiff-arm fend off was first made popular in the 1980s by Fitzroy superstar Michael Conlon. He was one of the most powerful, unique players to ever play the game, essentially a slightly worse Leigh Matthews that helped Fitzroy become a bit of a powerhouse. You can verify this by watching the "The old don't argue" AFL video, just a bit of trivia for you x
Tom Hawkins marking style is a signature move. He sticks his hand out blocking the defender from getting to the ball. He the steps back and takes the mark.
