Wordle 1,181 4/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ROUTE 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ SNAIL ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 GRASS 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 BRASS After 2 guesses, I thought of (in order): BRASH, CRASH, BRASS, CRASS, and GRASS According to WordleBot, I overlooked GRASP as a possibility. I considered several strategic guesses (BEACH, BOUGH, COUGH, and CHUGS), but decided to go for the immediate solve. After my 3rd guess (GRASS), only 2 choices remained: BRASS and CRASS Current Streak = 961

Good Wordle solve, eventually. Four for me too: AROSE, TRASH, BAWDY, BRASS. Oh no, the RAS trap. BRASS was my first instinct but I decided to try more common distinct letters and a filler first. My filler tested for WRASS* but that's not even a word (it's spelled WRASSE and it's a fish). Gym words: SWEAT, TOWEL.

STARE-CRASH-GRASS-BRASS for me. CRAGS on guess two would have been a valid hard mode guess and guaranteed I get it in 3. But unless I'm in danger of failing I'll always prefer the higher volatility if it has the same EV. Risk getting it in 4 for a chance to get it in 2 any day.

@@danjwheatley The original answer list systematically excluded all regular plurals and third-person present tense nouns. It also excluded regular past tense verbs with one exception: if the verb ends in Y such as FRY or TRY, the past tense (FRIED or TRIED) was not excluded. That was probably a programming error. Regular comparatives of adjectives were apparently not excluded (FINER and RIPER were valid). The original answer list is no longer used for this game (but most answers are similar). The list is still used for most other 5-letter word games.

Irregular plurals such as MEDIA and CACTI are fair game and so are irregular past tenses such as DWELT and WROTE.
