Yay!!!! So, here are my 2 cents as a 52 year old with the expected attendant skin concerns for my age. I have been using the DDG mask 5-7 nights a week (with a couple of weeks off) for about a year. I have definitely noticed significant benefits in terms of texture and fine lines. I got the EMS device in August. I try to use this every other day, but usually end up missing a couple of mornings because life. I have noticed a lot of benefits--even my husband notices. Particularly in my jaw but also (I have more to fix!)--around my eyes and my forehead. Also, everything seems bouncier and... idk...more awake? I find it pretty unpleasant on my forehead but TOTALLY worth it. And I am only using it on the first "up" intensity level. I don't use microcurrent. I'm interested, but trying to be realistic about my time!!!
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
Thank you so much for sharing! So the bounciness/more awake - that’s what I see from microcurrent, so it’s super interesting to hear you see that from EMS! I slacked very quickly on using it for my forehead (yep it’s…odd to say the least!) But I know medicube claims their device also does boost ATP, and I can’t help but think that’s the visible effect of higher energy production in the skin. 🤔 What levels do you use? I still use 2-3/up on my jawline. That thing gets SO intense lol
@kimberlykefalas9563
@kimberlykefalas9563 Год назад
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I am still using level 1/up. I haven't tried the other setting, what is it, skin? I think I could use 2 on my jaw, but not on my cheeks or forehead! One thing I think but am not 100% sure I am noticing that's fairly exciting is less drooping of my eyelids, making them seem less hooded? I am trying to pay attention. A young woman who does some work for us asked me a couple of weeks ago if I had botox. I use a LOT of different skincare so I wouldn't put that all on the EMS, but I am very happy with the device!

Oh girl, I’ve had a pmd for a long while but I just picked up the theraface pro about a week ago from Best Buy and let me tell you, I’m in love. It’s definitely pricey but if you have a Best Buy card you can get no interest financing and Best Buy has their holiday return policy right now which allows you to return anything you buy between now and the end of December until January 14th. So I figured it was a no lose situation and I had to give it a shot and I’m so happy I did. The percussion therapy really seems to have made a difference almost immediately in the vibrancy of my face. I have to attribute that to the increased blood flow. It’s also extremely soothing on my temples and jaw, I carry a lot of tension in that area. I also really like the LED attachments and the microcurrent as well. I think it’s a great tool, you should definitely check it out.

Thanks for sharing! So for the cure LED mask, is it required to add serum when in use? I am interested in the mask but don’t feel like to be hooked with a brand specific gel or serum the way microcurrent devices do if that makes sense 😂
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
Oh no there’s no serum required. I personally prefer to use an antioxidant-rich mist prior to LED, but that’s optional (and inexpensive! I like Isntree’s green tea toner in a spray bottle 😃)

Thanks for another awesome video. Excited you got the Ziip!!! . I have a few microcurrent devices, but mainly use the myolift 600. I have been using it a couple years and absolutely love it. The only problem is It is really time consuming at 45 minutes to an hour. I wanted something less time consuming to use on certain days, so discovered the Ziip (after a lot of internet research) Wow!!! I absolutely love love love the Ziip. The treatments are awesome. I got it from current body about 4 weeks ago. Well, I love the gold serum so much, I was looking on eBay to see if I could find it less expensive there for the future when I run out. I didn’t find the gold serum but was lucky (or not! Laughing!) I found a brand new Ziip never opened on ebay for $330. I bought it. My reasoning? The gel is $120- so basically got a second Ziip for $200. Crazy, I know! I can do (for example) The Works full face treatment in 7 minutes. It feels like a spa treatment.

I feel that one of the holdups with electrotherapy (and unmentioned: RF, electroporation, etc) is that it’s a combination of limited public research and lack of information on how devices operate, largely due to the competition factor. If a brand puts out all their data/specs, others can duplicate it for a fraction of the $ as they can just copy that research. But goooodNESSSSS it’s so frustrating for people like us, who want to understand what we are doing and what the data shows!

I have a ZIIP and don't use it regularly enough for it to have value. I think its for the exact reason you mention... it targets your needs in different ways which to me feels like it takes more effort to use than what I want to be a simpler process of moving the device around however feels most productive to you. I bought a Nuface from Costco during a sale, trinity kit with cream, serum, and bag for $160 thinking I might prefer the functionality, but after this recommendation I'll probably return it since its unopened and go with a medicube at some point as a backup. About LEDs though, do you think the other colors of the spectrum like yellow and green have sufficient research to justify their use? I have a Dr. Dennis Gross mask I use almost every day, but I've had it for almost 3 years now and I just expect it to die at some point. No performance issues, just feel like it'll go eventually. I've been looking into alternatives and because I don't have acne issues (I still use the red and blue setting but I can't pretend it's super helpful), I was thinking of the OmniLuxe mask which is red only. I also saw some alternatives like the MZ mask offer other types of light with benefits like targeting hyperpigmentation. While this sounds good in theory, I'm not convinced of its value and there tend to be tradeoffs ranging from comfort to price and even portability going for the all-in-one solutions. Bottom line I just haven't seen research like what is available for red/blue light for yellow/green wavelengths and wonder if the tradeoffs are worth it.
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
Oooh ok here’s my advice for using the Ziip: decide which program you like the most, jot down some notes (with the end goal of memorizing it), and then you can use it while doing other things. I quickly tired of the app, but I decided I love Instant Gratification and Problem Solver, so I load the app, set it to go, and I can put my phone down and do whatever else! And at this point, i feel the research is on red, infrared, and blue LED primarily, and also at specific wavelengths vs the entirety of those colors. With green & yellow, there’s some evidence that they may have benefits, but I’m not sure it’s adding anything more than what red/infrared do. Even blue is unnecessary for those without acne I would say.
@sassypineapple
@sassypineapple Год назад
I trust NASA (who literally created LED technology for healing) over any skin care brand, so I went with the Celluma Pro. Very expensive, but super effective for my acne, pain, and anti-aging. I use LED everyday (alternate between blue, red, and infrared) and notice dullness, blotchiness, inflammation, and dryness when I miss. My doctor was charging $150-180 per session, so I figured it was cheaper to buy my own😮. So far, my treatments have cost me $1.50 per session, and that cost will keep going down. Out of all the technologies, LED is the one with the most proven science and research. 👍 Have you tried a high frequency machine? I have the Nuderma Clinical which has both gases in one tube (argon for inflammation and neon for anti-aging). I don’t have as much long-term experience with this one; I just know my aesthetician swears by it. So again, I had to buy my own. 😊 I’m 53 and my stance is ANY device over surgery/needles. I just can’t go there… 😁
@AliceintheRabbitHole

Yep exactly how I see it. It’s a personal choice of which I’ll never judge others, but my choice is to reserve procedures for medical issues, and keep the cosmetic stuff on the surface. I have an RF device, but I really feel like I understand so little about it that it makes it difficult for me to talk about lol! I like to KNOW what I’m sharing before I share it. Otherwise I’m going to have to answer questions with “🤷‍♀️” which is just not my style 🤣

As someone with hyperpigmentation/melasma, I have a question about micro needling and EGF. I have a family history of skin cancer. Could EGF contribute to accelerated cancer cell growth???
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Год назад
That’s a great question! I do think there’s room for more research here, but in the meantime I would not use EGF over any cancerous spots. EGF is not known to be carcinogenic, but it may be mitogenic, which could speed up pre-existing cancer growth. I will say: I think this is one of the best arguments for why it’s important to see a doctor regularly (I know, I’m saying this as an American aaaah!) it’s pretty important to know where our skin is before using any treatments, honestly even including skincare products. Thus the duo of regularly seeing a doc/derm + a good skincare routine is the sweet spot!
