For absolute noobs who don't care much for parkour, and have good plot and gameplay: go start with AC4. For those who love parkour with a lot of character control, great plot, and gameplay: go play the Ezio trilogy. For the modern open world rpg, play AC Origins. For those who love stealth, decent parkour, and large crowds, play AC Unity.
The problem with starting with the Ezio trilogy is that A. You have a modern day missing its beginning B. Revelations doesn't work half as well without playing AC1. Even ACII can be appreciated more after AC1. So yeah, my answer is still start with the first.
im playing with this order: ac1 ac2 ac brotherhood ac revelations ac 3 ac liberation ac black flag ac freedom cry ac rogue ac unity ac syndicate ac origins ac odyssey and after im planning to play ac valhalla and after valhalla mirage and then (if it releases) shadows. In short word i played in release order because i wanted to keep up on the lore in the way ubisoft intended to and i gotta say i havent regretted it till now
Awesome brother I have to agree with that order. That's the order I am going back and replaying it. Only thing different is I played mirage before starting Valhalla. I really liked mirages gameplay and I figured since it explains basims past I would play mirage first
For new assassins creed players, I would recommend they start with the ezio trilogy for the story and gameplay, and origins or odyssey to see how the brotherhood started.
My first one was Syndicate not cause I liked the game but it was given out by Ubisoft for Free and I think it was a good idea Now I love this series After which I played Unity for 50hr And tried Origins from gamepass
AC1 or at least AC bloodlines if you can, but if not possible, you cant go wrong with ac2 as a first, its the game that basically introduced the modern day assassins. Overall better character's and acting too, and sets up well.
I recently replayed AC2 after 13+ years and yeah, you simply can't go wrong with AC2 as a starting point. the first hour of game is amazingly paced and sets up and teaches you basic mechanics perfectly with aappropriate narrative context too. Not to mention every main mission has fun objective thereby engaging gameplay. You can just start the game and have fun. unlike immediate sequels where you go mission after mission like a cutscene simulator devoid of any meaningful gameplay (ACB, ACR, AC3,AC4 etc).
I have just started the AC series and I completed AC 1 about 2-3 days back, ngl I'm a big fan of Prince Of Persia and AC 1 didn't disappoint but yes there are quite a few major bugs in most of the AC games, I'm going to follow the Release Order as I feel like that would be the best way to experience the whole AC game series, and how they evolved. Liked your vid @TheHiddenOne
I am of the opinion that generally speaking, any big franchise, be it books, movies, games, anything, is best appreciated when experienced in release order. Emphasis on generally. And for the Assassin's Creed series, I think it applies perfectly. The ins and out of the whole story (story, not scenario, stressing this out) are only fully exposed and explained (sometimes to a painful extent) in the first game. It sets the foundation for every game that follows. It may be hard to play as it has a dated gameplay (that I personally think still holds up on its own, but I'm an old man already), but it's worth going through... And it'll probably be a more appreciable experience to see the games evolve technically rather than going backwards.
Aside from what you listed, for newbies and casual players, i recommended going straight to their personal preferences of what this series is known for, historical setting. You like Pirate? Black Flag 🏴☠️ You like Renaissance Italy? Ezio's Trilogy. 🪶 You like Mummy, Desert and Egypt? Origin.🦂 You like Classy Victorian London England? Syndicate. 🎩 And on and on... The Assassin's Creed series is also like an interactive Time-Travel machine. So just choose which place and period you want to go and simply enjoy 🥰
The first game I played was Odyssey but in the starting I liked it because I used to play RPG games but the gameplay I first saw was of Origins then I saw Odyssey also then I bought it but then later I bought Unity and syndicate then I finally played origins then rogue then black flag my favourite then was Unity and the bugs and glitches were fixed by the time and then I finally bought the Ezio Trilogy and AC2 became my favourite game
I’m currently playing it in chronological order so I started with oddesey I just prefer to do stuff in the order it takes place and I’ve been enjoying it but idk if it’s the best way to start
Only issue it the modern day plotlines will be out of order. Most of the games work pretty standalone except revelations and brotherhood which rely on 2 and to some extent 1. edit: also rogue relies a bit on 3 and black flag
My personal favourite playing order is AC2 -> AC Brotherhood -> AC1 -> AC Revelations -> AC3 -> others in any order after playing the first five for a complete story
Unity could be a great place to start as well. It has detailed Paris, great assassination missions, and lots of customization options. Sure the story isn't great, the map is cluttered, and it is still glitchy for some players but it offers lots of content for players.
My order with how I played the series: 1) Black Flag 2) Unity 3) Syndicate 4) Rogue 5) AC 2 6) Brotherhood 7) Revelations 8) AC 1 9) AC 3 10) Origins 11) Odyssey 12) Valhalla 13) Mirage (currently getting all achievements and may replay story on permadeath) My console says I completed Unity's story before Black Flag's story.
A year ago i played origins because it was on game pass and loved it. Since then i bought and played the whole series. Origins and the ezio trilogy are my personal best but i like all the ac games
imo I think rogue is a good start since its short has a good story, good ship combat and good stealth gameplay which means after you finish rogue you can either go the assassin route with the ezio games or you can go to black flag then go from there
My First AC game was AC Chronicles Trilogy (China, India & Russia). My first mainline entry was Rogue and Syndicate after that. There is no wrong or right way to play the game just start with anything you feel comfortable. If you wanna play based on the chronological order then here is the list of playing order (I am not gonna mention DLC as you can playing it with mainline game of that DLC): 1) AC Oddesey 2) AC Mirage 3) AC Vahalla 4) AC Origins 5) AC Shadows (Upcoming) 6) AC 1 7) Ezio Trilogy 8) AC IV: Black Flag 9) AC III 10) AC Rogue 11) AC Unity 12) AC Syndicate 13) AC Chronicles (China, India & Russia in order) So this is the whole playing order and with this you will still able to follow the Desmend story in order and rest of the modern story sucks anyway so don't bother with that.
I played AC 2 first. At first I didn’t know that all 3 games were on PS4, so I played it on PS3. I played Brotherhood and Revelations on the Ezio collection though.
I would recommend playing the Ezio Trilogy, Black Flag, and Origins no matter what. And Unity and Syndicate as well for their open worlds and black box missions. Definitely don't start with Revelations and AC 3 since those will spoil the modern day or, in the case of Revelations, spoil and undermine the impact of Ezio's story.
i heard about ac1 after the launch and HAD to play it when i seen the parkour. years later id go on to have the insignia tattooed on my wrist, and still have a sharp interest in the canon today, regardless of my feelings of the games as games.
My advice is to start with either ac1 or ac 2 or ac syndicate. ac1 bc its the 1st game, ac2 because its iconic and the trilogy is great for story and gameplay, or syndicate because the parkor is safe and it's own story not related to any other games
I started with 3. Then I didn't have a console for years then did and went into origins cus it was on sale. Loved it like crazy. Bayek as a character is just awesome. I went back to ezios story and I was mad at the parkour. Ik it's dated but I was just mad lol
My First AC And Favourite Game of all time Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag I would recommend starting with Ac2 completing the trilogy Ac 1 is great at what it's trying to be but gameplay structure feels outdated for now and then AC4 is great as a standalone experience ,also Origins was great and Valhalla ending was pretty good
Simple answer would be ac1 but origins could still make sense story wise as the start, black flag had a new modern day "protagonist" same as unity and syndicate. Chronological oder could be fun but I feel like Odyssey would be quite overwhelming to a new comer not just from the narrative perspective but by how huge that game is
probably ac2 as its part of the ezio collection so even tho u skip the 1st game u still understand it as u play as a different character (ezio) so u understand his story completely and then it u like brother hood and revelations buy more ac games
honestly tho I have to say I'm a new player myself I have gotten to about the midpoint of revelations, imo brotherhood is my favorite as of no but ac2 comes close and revelation is good but I don't like it as much and I bought the triple pack on sale(20 bucks) (ezio collection for 15$) so im looking forward
In my opinion Odyssey has the best open world I found Origins far too empty you could literally go for miles and not come cross any cities or landmarks while in Odyssey every you went had different environments and sometimes required you change your normal play style
Great choices. I would probably recommend the same games in this video, alongside Unity. The Ezio Trilogy has great characters, the Italian Renaissance is breathtaking with multiple cities in AC 2, and the gameplay and side content is fun. Black Flag is pretty much a game anyone can enjoy, unless you don't like naval or hate the tailing missions too much. It currently has my favorite story in the series, the naval gameplay is addicting, and it has some of the best cast of characters in the series alongside The Ezio Trilogy. Origins has one of the best main protagonists in the series, Egypt is one of the best open worlds in the series, and the map size and amount of side content and length of the story isn't too much compared to Odyssey and Valhalla. I would say open world map sizes are probably the best balanced in games like Origins, Unity, and Mirage. AC 1 is great to start to catch up with the modern day, understand who Altair is in Revelations, and with it being the most dated game in the series it won't feel as dated if you play it before the later games. Plus it sets up the tenets of the Creed and who the assassins are and the game has great atmosphere.
Origins black flag unity ACII was my order Origins is a really great start to the game IMO, but it might be a bit off putting if you play the older games like I did with black flag
My first was unity I think its a perfect game to start with its gameplay is easy, the story is easy, and the parkour is amazing If you really like ac you should play the rest.
Honestly I think one should start with assassin's Creed brotherhood. The gameplay is modern enough, while the story gets you interested in the entire lore of assassin's so you start to play other ezio collection games and then all the other ac games.
brotherhood is a terrible starting point with it's intro. If you don't play 2 first, it's very confusing, you probably won't be as attached to Mario, won't feel as connected to the villa, etc.
Imo release order is the best one, but with skipping the first one because it's too repetitive and you can just watch a video on youtube about a story of the game
I play them in order of release (since Ezio trilogy because the first game is not on the PS4).. I could have gone fior Odyssey since I am Greek but I prefer being presented to the AC franchise like it was
play 1, 3 and ezio saga to understand how Ubisoft used to be before they found out there was a black dude in Japan (they already once said there will be no assassin's creed in Japan, and boom here we are in 2024 with Ubisoft desperate for damage control)
When people play Assassins Creed they focus on the story more than the stealth parkour or combat admit it Rogue was the same as Black Flag there was only one difference the story
this might sound dum but TRUST ME do assasins creed mirage first and pick easy mode itl show u a breif understanding of what this francise is and if youl like it
Don't suggest Valhalla to anyone new. That game will ruin their idea of what Assassin's Creed is. They will just think all other AC games are just slow, bloated games.
@@faiththeunknownbeing8126 you weren't really rewarded with that in the game. There's only a few really good items you get for exploring. Compared doing quests.
@@alibiiana3919 to me it wasn't the rewards. I like feeling the completion and Easter eggs. There's a mission involving Worcestershire sauce which was hilarious to me
