Secret wars i feel is last time we see most of the orginal mcu actors and from previous marvel movies to make way for new actors taking on iconic marvel roles
@@themultiverseproductions8492that’s why he calls it soft reboot because it not a full on reboot where characters will be completely different, it will still be the same characters from all the universe just now put together, BUT This shift in marvel is it’s way to recast characters for the newer generation calling for a “soft” reboot as it won’t be the same MCU anymore
Its going to be tough seeing an Iron Man recast because, personally I grew up watching Iron Man 1, 2 & 3. And thats where my fixation to the MCU started. But I do love each of the different Spider-Man movies so maybe it wont be that difficult. I think the only thing that would throw me off is that it'll be along side the same actors that shared a screen with the original Tony.
I think the MCU should do something similar to the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past, where Spider-Man is the character who remembers the old timeline (like Wolverine in DOFP) and the entire universe around him is completely different, including the timeline leading up to that point. This could allow for the return of many fan favourite characters without ruining their previous character arks.
Sounds like an interesting idea. I don’t think if they just go for a soft reboot that it would ruin character arcs but I can see a world where Spider-Man remembers
In the comics I believe a handful of characters go on a ship and remember everything from before. I could see something like this happening with the characters they wanna keep the same and have the same history.
I really don’t want them to recast Wanda!!! Elizabeth Olsen is irreplaceable for that role. It would be weird seeing anyone else play her. Then again that’s the same for all characters
They cannot recast wanda, Elizabeth olsen is the reason i love her and it would feel sinful to watch someone else play her. And lizzie would like to come back after she has focused on different characters which she has.
I really hope Anthony Mackie stays, i Just really loved Sam's character development in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Show, he as Captain America is So Cool!!
Here’s the thing about captain America. A lot of the things u said post reboot for cap can be done with Sam instead of Steve. Here’s what I’d personally do. Since this is a soft reboot that means that history was rewritten in some form or fashion. New timeline Steve Rodgers never froze in ice and woke up 80 years later. Instead steve stopped the red skull and died in the plane crash. Steve is now a hero of history and in modern day Sam Wilson becomes the new captain America because he was inspired off of the first captain America steve Rodgers. And so with this it does 2 things and this that Sam is still the modern cap but there are still plenty of prequel stories that can be told with Steve like maybe a wolverine and captain America team up movie that takes place during ww2.
Not a terrible idea, but saying so diffinitavely that Steve died 80 years ago rules out him being alive. I don't think that want to close that door. Totally possible they don't do Steve right away but I think they would either have him still be in ice or be MIA so they cam come to him later. Cause his rivalry with Cyclops is more so a Scott/Steve rivalry instead of a Scott/Cap rivalry. Correct me in I'm wrong but I don't feel like Scott and Sam would have the same kind of butting of head.
Imagine the new rebooted MCU is a start from the beginning of marvel but with new actors and stories. A new Iron-man, Cap, Banner\Hulk, Spiderman, and all of them. Although the new MCU would be a new universe, the OG actors could reprise their roles in cameos. That be cool, but highly unlikely.
They should NOT recast Captain Marvel in my opinion, i think Brie is a perfect fit for the role and i think she has so much more to give as Captain Marvel after Multiverse Saga, especially since Captain Marvel is important in some mutant storylines
@@BasicallyMarvel I see, I think we’d benefit from it, but a lot of the actors should be kept the same IMO. The real issue is the writing and directing, I think most of the actors were amazing choices. Recast any dead characters, or aged out actors, but keep people like Spider-Man, the Defenders, Punisher, MoonKnight, most of the GoTG, Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Shang Chi, even the Ms Marvel actor wasn’t a bad choice. Just make them different universe versions. Personally I’d keep Thor and Antman the same actors too cause the actors themselves were good choices, the rest I wouldn’t mind being recast, but some, like who I named, I don’t really see a point in recasting, just give them a fresh start
I agree with most of the characters you said. (Don’t want to spoil who cause of future recast ranking videos haha). But for some of those character like Thor and Ant-Man, while I agree they were cast extremely well, we need to keep in mind the actors might not want to play the characters for another decade or two
I'm very confused about the reboot, are they doing it after secret wars or before? Will it be set in the same universe? A continuation? In my opinion, i think they should do a hard reboot after secret wars if they want to end the mcu.
Well a reboot actually hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s pretty much what we’re all theorizing and expecting. The way I see it it’ll be after secret wars (secret wars will create the new universe) and they’ll keep some actors in the roles and recast others
Amazon Video I Agree Am Looking Forward Seeing What Actor Will Return Or Not Seeing It Very Interesting How They Will Go Like Iron Man I Wonder He Be Like Armored Advanced If You Not Seen It Recommend Seeing It But Like A New Idea For The Iron Man Actor To Not Copy Over All Love The New Videos Vibe Keep It Up
There is no chance that Elizabeth Olsen gets recast. She is 12 years younger than Cumberbatch. She has said that she wants to hang around for the X-Men. I suspect that maybe the only recasts will be to replace actors who have decided to move on.
Possibly, but just because she wants to stay around doesn’t mean she will. I don’t personally see a world where Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are older than the X-Men (except for Wolverine and Professor X of course)
@@BasicallyMarvel I personally think it's going to be either if the twins has a similar or same backstory as the MCU then I think it will the olsen's choice if she continues or not but if they change the twins backstory so that their Magneto's children then I can see them changing to a younger actress
Hopefully Valkyrie Will Deserve To Be Recast But This Time, White ( Brunnhilde ) Because I’ve Been Waiting For So Long To See Her For Like… I Don’t Know, Never? 🤷🏻♂️
It’s gonna be hard to recast. From what’s been seen from phase 4 and phase 5, a simple replacement just doesn’t resonate well as the OGs. If they recast most of them, for me, the MCU is truly finished.
They'll probably just keep the younger actors... Spider-Man will stay ofc since he's far younger than the other Avengers. And of the new ones introduced in Phase 4, I do like a few of them, like Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, and Kamala Khan. We will see how Joaquin Torres shows up as the next Falcon but I actually think he was a likeable and skilled character in the FATWS Apart from that, of course, they will have to completely start over
Hoping too eventually. I have videos planned out for my DC and Star Wars channels too, but to be frank I have to prioritize the Marvel channel because it's the only one monetized.
@@BasicallyMarvel I feel you bro. Keep up the good work. i am finally creating a DC channel of my own (it's hard to maintain bc I have a full time job lol)
@BasicallyMarvel since DOFP erased the events of the old X-Men movies, recasting and being in a new timeline, I feel like Secret Wars will be like that
I can kinda see him as Cap, but I personally can’t picture him as Tony. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t do it though. There’s plenty of examples of actors surprising us in these roles
It’s been heavily, heavily, rumored for a while now and just makes a lot of sense. The mcu will have been going on for almost 20 years at that point, and now being able to use every single marvel character, Secret Wars gives you a way to soft reboot
No it wouldn't. When u really think about it, when the MCU reboots they will have the rights to every Marvel character. (atleast every major one.) So we can the the X-Men immediatly, Fantastic Four, Miles, Black Panther will be back along with Iron man, and better villains. Just look at the bright side. The MCU started small with characters the audience didn't't know. And now the audience love them because of the MCU. So now even more characters/teams can be in the MCU.
I think you're going over the top with this. There isn't gonna be a reboot. It's gonna be a very soft reboot. Currently there are only 3 mcu heroes left that has a huge fandom: Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Wanda. Neither of them will get recast. Two of those 3 only work due to the incredible actors playing them.
Soft reboot means some characters are recast while others aren’t. Yes those three characters have massive fan bases and the actors are great, but those characters also had big fan bases from the comics and animated shows prior to the characters being introduced into the mcu.
@BasicallyMarvel I disagree completely. Doctor Strange and Wanda are both popular because of Benedict and Elizabeth. Before that it was merely hard-core nerds knowing who they were.
@BasicallyMarvel I don't think secret wars will restart marvel and bring literally everyone back. Certain characters will stay dead. I don't think rdj is getting recast and neither is Evans. Nobody in the mcu currently will be recast. They will simply just merge the X-Men and the Fantastic Four with the MCU timeline. Then AFTER the Mutant saga they can start thinking about recasting.
They absolutely SHOULD NOT AND WILL NOT recast Wanda. Olsen IS WANDA. Wanda IS olsen. ALL Wanda fans ARE Olsen fans. She doesn't work without her and Wanda JUST BECAME a household name because of her.
That’s just not true. Scarlett Witch has been around long before Olsen and will be around long after. It doesn’t make sense to keep her around if the rest of the X-Men are gonna be younger.
Age is a very good reason. If the rest of the X-Men are early 20s, why would they keep her? Just because people are a fan of her in the role doesn’t mean someone else can’t play it. That makes no sense, especially in the superhero world where beloved characters have been recast many times
@BasicallyMarvel Wanda is different. Elizabeth Olsen embodies the role. She is the role. Wanda is nothing without her. And if she gets recast marvel is gonna find that out the hard way. I am most certainly not going to support a random person playing Wanda. I am a fan of Elizabeth Olsen and therefore Wanda. And I am a fan of Wanda and therefore Elizabeth Olsen. And trust me. All her fans think the same way about it.
While I agree with most of your reasoning and arguments, I don't think that many characters will get recast. It'd be a huge risk by Marvel to let go of the talent that got them a large part of their success, and I also doubt the contracts involved would allow such a large turnover. I can especially see the likes of Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Mackie and Chris Hemsworth just point towards their massive contracts and their massive fanbases. I do think you're right for many others however. With what Marvel has been doing these last few years, I can definitely see Jeremy Renner be "recast" by Hailee Steinfeld and Captain Marvel being replaced by Ms Marvel etc, with just the younger mentee figures becoming the main version of that character in the soft rebooted MCU. The only characters I can see be recast directly are the very OG players who were a part of the MCU since ~2012, dead characters and some MCU adjacent characters like the X-Men and Sonyverse characters.
I just hope Wanda (Scarlet Witch) as well as Pietro are recasted. Wanda is supposed to be a brown Romani woman. Not only has Elizabeth Olsen used slurs against Romani people several times in the past, she continued using them after being educated on the topic. Additionally, she literally mocked the country of Serbia which is literally where Wanda is from in the comics. While I do love MCU Wanda and appreciate Elizabeth's portrayal of the character, with the material she was given, I really hope we get a more accurate Wanda casting in the future after the reboot. Would love to see her have a role in the future X-men movies, hopefully along the lines of the Wolverine and the X-men show.
You do realise she doesn't hate romani people and as far as I know she NEVER used that slur but im free if you give me any real evidence and nothing created by her haters.
@hyewonderfull complete over exaggeration of events. Elizabeth Olsen is a very lovely person. One of the most wholesome people out there and they are few to come by
@@BasicallyMarvel she never used it in a bad way ever, and she didn't want to say bad things about Serbia, and the way she is, tried to correct herself only for it to be hated on even more. She's not like that
