The A1 was catching fire with a badly designed chord and has been pulled off the market and out of stores on FULL recall. P1P wins

I got the Recall email last night. I am keeping mine. I already printed the clip and wasn't having the cable strain issue with the exposed wires. Will still install the replacement part IF they send them.

Its not worth it to me. All that little extender does is pushes the problem further down. The real problem is the brittle and thin wires themselves. That adapter is just a bandaid. I personally just went with a P1P , It still can do all the fancy colors if I want it too and it doesn't have any electrical issues@@3DandTeePrinting

I have 2 P1P'S already But No FULL AMS. I am still going to print with the A1 for Multicolor prints only (Not as much as before). I will just have to take my $120 credit and another $240 and get at least 1 FULL AMS now. Whole reasons I got the A1 was for CHEAPER color printing. $350 for a FULL AMS add on OR $559 for AMS LITE and NEW PRINTER. I THOUGHT it was a no brainer. But now this.

Summary of the video: Which one’s right for you? It’s kind of up to you…
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 6 месяцев назад
Yep. If you want a Core XY you go with the P1P. If your budget conscious you get the A1 (Non-Combo). If you want quick swap nozzle the A1. You want the ability to upgrade you chose the P1P. It's all up to you. There has been forums and groups that think the P1P is now Obsolete with the A1 and P1S out there from Bambu.

@@3DandTeePrinting Your video was fantastic and straight to the point. Given your experience with the Creality brand, how do you think it compares to Bambu Labs overall? Specifically, I'm interested in your thoughts on construction, parts quality, print quality, consistency of results, and so on. Thanks! ;O)
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 23 дня назад
@mikekiske Answer: BAMBU is a well made APPLICANCE like printer that has very good Quality, Consistency and User Interface experience across all the lineups they have from the A1, P1, X1 and soon to be...... series work right out the box. with no mechanical tuning needed (from my experiences). CREALITY, depending on the lineup you go with, can be a ready to go out the box but usually needs a little mechanical adjusting to get a GREAT quality print. Consistency with Creality is more about how well you maintain your printer. Bambu just PRINTS with no additional manual adjustments. To me if you like tinkering and having full control of your printer go with Creality. If you just want to be able to print over and over again and don't care about the ability to fully access your machine, then Bambu is the way to go but you will not be able to play around with ALL the settings on a Bambu because they have taken the guess work out of everything and given a BASE line that is better then MOST manufacturers out now. Long Term Printing Consensus: If you bought a Bambu it's because... A) Your a NEWBIE: You heard how "great" Bambus are and how "bad" Creality has been B) INTERMEDIATE: You've experienced TOO much needed Tinkering and you just want to print and stop tinkering. C) EXPERIENCED: You need SPECIFIC features already on a printer. Want a printer that needs no self assembly or programming, along with Multicolor, Ecosystem, etc.

I'm wavering between a P1P or an A1. I will only print in PLA. The A1 has Active Flow Rate Compensation and easy nozzle changes, but the P1P does not. What do you think?
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 4 месяца назад
That Flow Calibration is awesome. But the P1P'S ability to become a P1S is something you can't get with the A1. 4 COLORS on A1 series vs 16 colors on P1/X1 series. You can't enclose your A1 (safely) and print ABS/ASA or other high temp materials. Unless your constantly switching nozzles, the quick swap nozzle is overkill. The Core XY frame on the P1P is also more stable than the i3 Bedslinger setup on the A1. If you have no intention of printing in high temp materials in the future then go with the A1. If you want more to print ASA/ABS/NYLON you will need an enclosure which the P1P can be upgraded to a P1S (Fully Enclosed)

Where you got those filament locks to avoid spool fall off? BTW I keeping my A1 too, is amazing and still use it, no problems .... Its good for those who follow assemby instructions in the MANUAL :). Gonna replace bed when they send to me.

Makerworld for the Spool holder. KEEP THAT A1. I am Banned by the wife from using it. Print something for me on your A1 in solidarity while I WAIT for the new replacement parts. 😕 makerworld.com/models/116787

is the printing noise alot louder on hte p1 than the a1?
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 6 месяцев назад
Yes and No. If your not using the Aux Fan on the P1P they are close with the firmware update with the Noise Cancellation. But the A1 is definitely quieter overall. The P1P WAS loud without the Aux fan on before.

Cool video ! The combo A1 Combo with a K1 can be interesting ?
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 6 месяцев назад
A1 VS K1??????? Hmmmm Challenge Accepted. K1 is going to kill it against ABS printing. I am currently in the process of upgrading a Ender 3 V3 SE right now and ran into a few snags with parts availability and then a small ALMOST fire with a TWO frayed wires. A serial cable and the LED bar. I can put the VS on the list of the next project.

Just waiting on the video of the E3V3SE linear rails. Done a few upgrades sprite pro, k1max hotend, led upgrade kit, creality enclosure, sonic pad, PEI plate and hardened nozzles for carbon and metal filaments This printer is a beast and will be even more reliable with linear rails

@GammaBeastOfficial
@GammaBeastOfficial 6 месяцев назад
@@GoldFus1onReally only two on my list hotend and PEI. Sadly I purchased the se before the KE came out in my area. It's still a great printer I can't complain and has forced me to dive in and learn more than just press buttons and print
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting 6 месяцев назад
@GoldFus1on Alot of People Grabbed the SE (Including me) and kind of felt it needed a little bit more refining and wish we would have sprung for the KE. During the Holidays the SE was going for $179. The KE is now going for $299 (after the holiday deals were over). So you have 2 choices. 1) Upgrade the SE or 2) Buy a KE. I did BOTH. That way I can have a fair comparison and people can see IF it's possible to make a SE into a KE for the difference in their pricing. Thats About $120.

@@3DandTeePrinting I might plan on purchasing another printer in the future I only got into this hobby since I got the SE for personal projects in my shop. The "Ender 3 V3" is very nice I am interested when I see it go for sale as it is similar to the K1 with linear Rods supporting the gantry and follows other ender 3s with the bed slinger design

I've seen a few on Reddit claim to have no issues running the A1 in an enclosure. Would like to hear your thoughts on the subject. Love the videos by the way, highly entertaining!
@3DandTeePrinting
@3DandTeePrinting Месяц назад
I myself would not risk it. I am sure it will run for a while but for the long term use of your machine I personally wouldn't subject my main board to the kinds of heats it would have to endure on a long multicolor print inside an enclosure without some sort of active cooling. BUT to each their own. I will not be doing it.
@jf0314
@jf0314 Месяц назад
@@3DandTeePrinting thanks for the response, maybe someone will figure a way of getting active cooling to the MCU. I had thought of just enclosing the to portion where the print occurs, leaving the base outside for cooler air.

@jf0314 as long as you can keep the temps away from the mcu you should be ok.

I love mine. My chord is fine, so I'm keeping it and will replace the heat bed when it arrives at the end of the end of the month. With 120 credit, I'm going to get a second A1.

I am keeping mine as well. Still trying to decide. P1S Upgrade kit for one of my P1P'S (hard to find in stock), Buy an A1 MINI (printer only) make it the dedicated color printer, or buy $120 in bambu filament.
