It being in WWI made it stand out. Guns we never use in games bc there’s no WWI games finally get to be used. Zeppelins, biplanes, gas, all things we rarely get to experience. I’m glad WWI is finally getting the recognition it deserves.
Battlefield Hardline have a hardcore player base because of it's unique online modes. Cop's vs Robbers with car chases is quite fun, stealing cars that will explode if you don't keep them over speed limit etc. Lots of hilarious moments in this game. It's nothing like any other Battlefield online.
@@Salute503I don't think it will happen, because the first one failed for the wrong reasons as it were misunderstood. Hardline were called a BF 4 MOD on release, but single player and online were nothing like BF 4 at all. It also had new mechanics not in BF 4 too.
Not gonna lie I switched my fav Battlefield game from 4 to 1. Battlefield 1 is literall perfection of what this genre should be and the fact that it dethrowned Bad Company 2 and BF3 for me is something I would´ve never thought back than.
Bf1 was my first and favourite battlefield game. I tried other games like bad company 2 and 4 on game pass but the graphics and and controls feel too sluggish and outdated IMO. Bf1 is a perfect balance of very good atmosphere, variety of maps and beautiful graphics. A lot of bf fans class bf1 as the best battlefield ever made which I agree fully
Battlefield 2 was the best Battlefield imo, it was better than Bad Company 2 for me. Battlefield 2 and 2142 were definitely the last games in the franchise that HEAVILY focused on teamwork. Teamwork is still pretty vital in new Battlefield games but it’s still easy to be a one-man army because of the lack of bullet spread. The crazy bullet deviation was annoying af in Battlefield 2 but it made teamwork a requirement.
BF3 had a major resurgence during covid. To a point that there were several thousand people playing on PS3 at any given time. My friends and I had a blast going back and reliving our childhood memories. Fingers crossed it can make it to 2025.
BF3 would be more fun if people were more accepting of mode/map variety, unfortunately everyone just wants to play Noshahr TDM and Conquest. No Rush, barely any gun master, no scav. These were maps and modes you could find a server for even just one year ago. Seems the population really dropped off much more rapidly at the turn of the year, and I'm not sure why. I feel at this point, BF3 premium should be released for free permanently. Not that EA would do that, however...
@@hemanthsaikumar.p8672 I play on console and I always find matches, but its mostly conquest and Operations. There still has to be a lot of players on PC playing.
Both are very active with over 10k players almost every day. But the problem is the hackers on bf5 its bad but often times due to the amount of players hackers are less likely to be in your games. So if you are going to get one I would get bf5 if you like combat more or bf1 if you like the atmosphere of games more. But if you ever get a console get bf5 as there are many games and no hackers.@@hemanthsaikumar.p8672
@@FakeAdirTV Well, Battlefield 1 *was* a passion project of DICE's, with EA only telling them to leave room for MTXs, but not how. If only EA actually had an ear for their players that wasn't only slightly listening when their stock-value drops, and instead listening in for what ideas could make a great game to sell.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I read somewhere a while back that BF4 servers (at least on PC) aren’t run by DICE anymore so BF4 will most likely still be around for many years to come with its dedicated community.
Bruv do uk how to join a platoon in bf1? Ive created one (me and 8 other friends of mine been playing it since a while) and want to be in a single platoon
@@jaweel6205 Yeah, can be a problem on some servers, but the more established private ones, with plenty of admins, generally are good at kicking hackers almost instantly. They also use loads of tools to check if a player has been banned for hacking on other servers, if any weapon stats are suspicious, etc.
BF1 is still my main. On PlayStation I generally find 8-12 full servers for conquest every night. When bf1 servers go away I think I will legit shed tears. I have around 43 full days in playing it. But I have to say, the best fps experience of all time for me was Bad Company 2 on the Vietnam dlc.
Bad Co 2 will forever be my favorite. It was summer going into my sophomore year and my Dad just got WiFi for the house. I just got a ps3 at the time and spent the entire summer playing that game. So many great memories. Great all around.
1943 was my first exposure to the BF series and man not only was it the start of my love for BF, but it also changed what what arcade games could be. At the time of release most arcade games were very basic and cheap games to play when nobody was online. I remember being shocked by the $15 price tag on PSN.
it would cost them next to nothing to just keep servers up. I love the game and its unique features and it sucks that they can kill it just to save a few bucks
@@About36Greeks I just want my BF3 1911 back. Not the S-TAC from the End Game DLC, but the OG three you got for making an account with EA Gun Club, the crappy (but fun) branch-off of Battlelog.
My friends and I bought it on release, sat in enemy boat spawn with our boat destroying the unmanned boats the entire match constantly racking up score to level up the 4 classes to lvl 10. unlocked everything you can get in days and no progression left to make, the devs went through and demoted everyone that exploited but you still had all your items unlocked. boring ass game bf4 better
@@spartan-1210 the fact that you can unlock every single thing in the game that quickly makes it very boring compared to bf4 where it will take you months at least, if you are playing a normal amount per month
@@benchgoblintheres plenty of exploits to unlock things in BF4 as with every other game there are exlploits/glitches just because you found an exploit that the devs fixed doesnt mean that a game is trash by that logic every game is trash because you can cheat or exploit almost every video game especially multiplayer games
My favorite Battlefield games are BF Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1. I hated how EA turned on the Battlefield Community with Battlefield 5 so I didn't buy the game until recently for like 10 bucks used. BF5 is a good game now after all the patches and final updates.
As someone who absolutely loves Bad Company 2 I’m devastated that the severs will be shut down early December. Just hoping they will somehow reverse this terrible decision because the new battlefield games aren’t anything special compared to the classics in terms of quality or fun factor. Not to mention Bad Company 2 still has some of the best sound design of any game I’ve ever played to this day. Going to enjoy these last couple months with these masterpieces while I can.
BF1 was my first BF and I put a stupid number of hours into it. I miss the beauty and immersion of it. Oh and I miss the limpets (whether it was putting them on planes, tanks, collapsing buildings or kamikazeing into a bunker for a huge multi kill they were just fun) Didn’t buy BFV for ages and hated it when I did. It just wasn’t fun. Just come back to 2042 recently and it feels good and is fun now. I love the new map Redacted on conquest and much hilarity can be had with the new Pondhawk vehicle :)
I just bought BF4 for PS3 last week despite I already have BF4 at Steam, I'm surprised there are still plenty of players playing online in multiplayer, it's still quite a blast despite its max 24 players limit (12 vs 12).
If you wanna play the old BF games, i recommend you to play it on PC, those games are populated on PC, at least some of them have support from the community with mods like the BF3 Venice its awesome. I love BF and my fav games are Bad company 2 and BF3
Definitely remember that on I loved bf2142 was my first start to battlefield wish they made a remake. I know there was a private server a few years ago that could be played
BF1 is my favourite one. They reached perfection on that one. The inmersion and atmosphere are brutal, specially on trench maps from the DLC's. Just watch any gameplay with no HUD in max settings, it just blows your mind. The real all-out war experience.
I bought BF4 for dirt cheap around September 2022 and was a total nostalgia trip to when I used to watch BF4 Beta videos while playing Bad Company 2 on my old PC which wasn’t even capable of holding stable 30FPS. I remember dreaming about the game, and now I can play it whenever I want on a new gen console… All this to say closing servers for some of us could mean we’d never get to try out the game at all. Some of us didn’t have the chance to play them back in the days, but players like me still would love to do it one day… I don’t know, it’s just sad.
Bf1 is my favorite! Still populated on Xbox and it’s crazy how many people still play! I think we are all just waiting for another shooter to come along that is actually good…
Me and my brother would play bad co. 2 every day after I’d get home from school, he was ex army and loved gaming. Some of my best memories were with him just running around maps hiding in trees and sniping people out. He had to teach me about bullet travel because I had only ever played cod before lol He passed away about two years ago now. Rip jonesy, 11B’s are tough ass dudes..
Deleted it after my 55,000th A10 kill and never looked back. BF3 was better in nearly every aspect and it had one of the most toxic communities bar none
Every single Battlefield game for PC has a community still, some big, some small but ALL are still working or have been revived with community servers.
Battlefield 1943 was like $15 if I remember and it was actually pretty good but just WAY lacking in content compared to standards even back then. There were 3 maps, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and Wake Island. And I believe 1 (maybe 2 can’t remember) Air Superiority maps. Wasn’t the best but good for $15
My list for the battlefields I played (my favorite to least favorite) BF3 BFBC2 BF4 BF1 BF2042 BF Hardline BF5 This is not a ranking of best to worst. I enjoyed all these that I played. Battlefield 1 was hella good it’s not higher because it’s a ww1 shooter and I like the modern ones better
@@itzrewiind9399 Nah, you have to realize that modern or futuristic shooters have been the dominating force for 2 decades. Its time to put the "airsoft guy" and "tacticool" cringe to rest. This fast paced, tactical grappling hook, wingsuit and double jump shit needs to GO. Slow paced head to head combat like Battlefield 1 and 3 are much more entertaining than running around at 90mph trying to be some ultra god gamer doing double backflips and grenade spamming across the map. Its only popular because the 12 year olds that find that shit entertaining are the majority of the gaming market.
I would just move the bf1 to first place. I didn't touch anything else. This is because the general quality of the bf1 is unique, in everything it represents. There is no game that represents the era that is comparable. It has superb music and the perfect ambiance and sound of the war at the time. is the first game to put a lot of emphasis on team play, unlike all multiplayer FPS games.
I miss hardline so much, last I checked there's only 1 lobby with players on PC so sadly can't experience those fun game modes in a battlefield setting
Battlefield 1 steel rules. For the PC there is still lots of servers with the long waiting list to get on. I agree Metro is the best map ever. Intense team play, Point Blank shootouts, fighting on the escalators going to the trains.
The sad news it, although there are still players, in all old BF only a few of the standard maps are used nowadays. BC2, BF4 and BF1 had some really great additional maps but noone is using them anymore.
My two favorites are BF3 and BFV. 3 had the very best maps that were distilled divine inspiration. I think V has some great great maps as well and the guns slap in a sloppy way i love. I think the movement in V is the best and I've come to love building fortifications and i really miss the fortifications when i go back to 3 and bf1
I’d dare to say that bf4 has more active players than bf2042 and in terms of graphics gameplay content and longevity bf4 may even be the best battlefield ea has ever made (im not saying bf3 and bc2 are dogsh*t games but you can see the player base in those 2 games and bf4) And i was hyped for bf1 when the trailer came out, bf5 tho wasn’t the case, i played a bit of bf5 but even when I’m playing on south american servers i lagged big time
There are still a lot of full servers for Battlefield 1 on xbox in the North American region. Lately on any given night there have been about 30 to 50 full lobbies between conquest, operations, and frontlines game modes. The trick is that many people don't know how to set up the server browser filters correctly and then don't see most of the servers. For the server browser filter, you have to set the free player slots option to "none, 1 to 5, and 6 to 10", and then select your region, and the game modes you want. The problem with the browser is that if you don't select that "none" option for free player slots, then it doesn't display all the full servers that you can still queue into.
The way I see battlefield 5 is that the game is fun. Multiplayer is good, campaign is meh with the exception of the Last Tiger, firestorm was left to die. What I think people hated about it and probably still do is the politics behind it especially Patrick soderland
Battlefield 4 is the best. Played it with my friends on Ps4 for years and we were on leaderboards (1s1k clan) (Moko ryuji r-m-akms2) he was 2nd global in kills count. Dhofar (top jet/dogfight player) FaisalX (sniper) , Arabian(Tanker) unfortunately we left the game in 2018. I am sure none of us is on the leaderboard anymofe it has been 5 years since the last time we played it. Best days is challenging other skilled squads like (GERM) on private servers. It was awesome. DICE DIED AFTER BF1. الله يرحم كانت كلها عرب اما الحالية الجديدة مهجورة
I've tried to play bf3 on Xbox but it won't let me. I think i heard something about having to contact ea or Microsoft to get the server connection fixed?
A lot of the classic battlefields ca be played online on pc it’s just you got to download a community made patch and possibly get the game basically through a website
I remember playing through Battlefield Bad Company 2, playing through that last mission, getting pumped up, reaching that crazy cliffhanger ending, and....realizing they weren't releasing a sequel to it. Now that they are killing the servers too 😢
Back in 2016 I remember getting the PS4 and getting the BF1/Titanfall 2 Bundle. Those two game were my first multiplayer experience memories of when gaming studios released finished games
As a call of duty player I admire BF aswell and would like to buy my first one (BF4) I hear this game is amazing and it does look good but my question is does the game still hold up and is active in servers?
Yoo wtf, i tried looking for a game in battlefield bad company 2 a few months and i wasn't able to connect to matchmaking server. Thought they had already shut it down.
PC has a lot of games including Battlefield ones with servers fans bring back. Command & Conquer Renegade is another one that came out just before 1942 that regularly has a very active server at nights.
Its funny that this came into my recommended today, because i spent yesterday going back and playing all of these just to see who was still playing lol
I haven’t played bf3 in atleast a decade but my brain still remembers BASE jumping from the one map with the helipad super high up on rush. Sorry it has been so long since I’ve played I hardly remember map names but I know someone knows exactly what I’m talking about. The feeling of BASE jumping from that helipad was one of the best feelings ever as a kid. Especially if you were playing rush and just capped the objective right before that and started sprinting to the hillside and you’d just see everyone on your team running and making the jump.
Played every Battlefield game since 1942 till Battlefield 1 (except hardline, play4free and console exclusives). Yea like you said, after Battlefield 1 the franchise officialy died. My all time favorites were 2142, Bad Company 2, BF3 and BF4.
Also for people who have a ps2 or an emulator, a community project recently revived the servers for battlefield 2: modern combat, so you can actually play that online now
1943 on 360 was really active before the servers shutdown. When I tried BC2 before the server shutdown, I could only find a few max rank try hards that kept spawn killing me. I have a feeling that EA will announce a server closure for BF3 soon on consoles
Battlefield V, other from all the bad thing and (remember the battle royal mode?), what I heard is a lot of hackers, ever since mid 2021. RU-vidr doing vids on it also like they only came back once and not again. What do you think?
if people complaining about hardline spent like 30 minutes playing it they would have realized how great it was. Massive massive title, my favourite one with BF3
Battlefield 1942 is not inactive and you can still play it online, same with BF2 for PC with BF2Hub. Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for PS2 is also back online as of earlier this year thanks to the community.
Games like BF2 and 1942 will never die because they actually have offline bots. Today even the few games that do have bots, they are often made "online only" which are doomed to be unplayable when the servers shut down.
Heroes is undoubtedly severely underrated, I dare say. It has that fun/goofy atmosphere. It can be played today but is generally a shadow of its heyday.
Played competitive BF:Vietnam, then took a long break and absoluetely had in blast in Bad Company 1 when I got my PS3. BF3 rthen seemed to be the goat for me, but they even perfected it more in BF4. I tried 1 and 5, but 4 is my absolute favourite and peak of the series to this day.
Hardline had a domination game where the cars were capture point. I always stick with generic modes but couldn't help get a few matches in of it when i played. Lots of fun on it
I'll only be happy but if they shut the service down under the condition that if the weapons and the maps are all moved to one game without missing anything
I was a full-on cod player growing up, so i never really liked the battlefield games until my friend told me to get bf1 best decision of my life so many good times. I play bf4 every day. Also, i missed out
