This gave us an idea to test a few different options and see how they deal with condensation, what size they are and how much of a pain they are to put on and take off. Come and take a look and see which windscreen cover we think is best.
The ones we have featured are;

Wouldn’t be without the Remi blinds. You do get condensation in the depths of winter and for those occasions I use an external Silverscreens thermal wrap like the Campervanbits one you tested, but I like the ability to wild camp and be able to move away quickly if needed without taking something off the outside. The blinds are also good for quick privacy and coolness when travelling & stopping. Don’t think the two solutions are mutually exclusive. I happily use both.

The fitted Remis Concertina cab blinds for the win. They are just so much simpler and no faf

We have them and use Custom Camping cover for warmth in winter also shade and coolness in summer.

I appreciate these are insulated to a certain extent but for ease you cannot beat the Remis cab blinds if you have them.

We have both but never use the outside one now. As you said in the wind and wet, it is a pain to put on and a pain to store, once wet. Even high quality well fitted external blinds flap during high winds making noise, when you are trying to sleep.The other trouble with the outside ones is that in high winds, particularly on coastal pitches, grit and sand gets blown underneath the cover, once there it acts like sand paper and damages your paint work. The outside cover does reduce condensation but for the reasons outlined and the fact I don't take both now because of storage space, It is now always the inside ones we take with us out of experience of both. An expensive mistake buying the outside cover. We store our internal blinds on the pop top bed, with the pop top bed up during the day, just flat. We clean any condensation with a large micro fibre towel, working from the bottom of each pane of glass to prevent any drips from getting into electrics, particularly when doing the wind screen - easy, inside, in all weather, nice, dry and warm.

Completely agree. A little misting is worth it to keep the blinds dry.

Interesting review, thanks. We get condensation with the Remis blinds even with a window slightly open. The reflective internal blind we tried was useless, so we opted for a Silver Screens and it’s superb. Yes, it’s a bit of a faff if it’s been raining, but we just place it in the shower area when we’re on the move and it’s soon dries out.

We got the campervanbits one for our Cali following a recommendation from you from an older video. It’s superb - easy to fit and take off plus it packs down to a compact size and is stored in a good sized bag. We previously had Brandrup internal screens and we found they left a lot more condensation, took up more space when stored in the van and took longer to put on.

Rainbow screens for our T6.1, (come with a dry bag) excellent, plus a folding internal screen which connects to the rear wind screen in the tailgate using 5 suction cups, both have been game changers. We also use two car humidifier bags, which are brilliant, thanks for the video 😄🚐

Hello. Is the folding screen with suction caps you mention specifically tailored to the rear tailgate screen for the T6.1? I'm new to this game, and this past weekend made do with a 10€ fold sunscreen for the front; multi- vehicle type that proved inadequate. For the rear just curtains. I'd be grateful to know...

@@pondlife1952 yes, just Google rear internal thermal windscreen cover for T6.1, I can't remember where it came from, it was about £18 plus postage, it's great quality, fits perfectly and works well, it folds into a square and sits behind the rear bench seat.

I've been using the ukcustomcover external screen for 3 years now and love it. I've never had any condensation and leave the front windows down a inch for some cross flow. Yes; its a pain if the weather is awful , but considering it takes a few seconds to hook it onto the top corners of each door , its fast. Very secure, never blown off , never had any condensation and total privacy. I've tried the internal thick thermal foil ones with sucker pads and its ok ish for very hot climates ; but still go back to my external " sock " as I nickname it.

Hi Both. Hard to compare when you have only the screen cover but our external screen cover by Custom Camping UK. Is brilliant. Look great. High quality material, made to fit perfectly on our California Ocean. Best thing we bought. (Not sponsored in any way).

Only issue with these covers is dragging across the paintwork. My wife and I have it sussed so it never touches the paint.

My van came with a Hindermann external screen and not a drop of condensation. Didn't yours come with the same?

I use a cheap and cheerful internal set and 2 dehumidifier bags this is enough to keep the condensation away and most of the light out. I can’t understand why people need to spend a fortune on screens and window vacuums.

We have the Comfortz blind from campervan bits for the Cali. I think we’ll go internal though when we get the Columbus for ease. Too many wet and windy evenings setting up or taking down and cleaning of bird poo. They are very good though. We bought a little window vac that lives in the van for condensation. I’m assuming the built in blinds on the Columbia will be as useless as the Cali ones but will see what they’re like before we buy anything. Will see if Brandrup do the internal blinds for the Ducato. Their stuff just works doesn’t it. Thanks for the video!

@@travellingtaylors8352 Thanks. Never heard of the designation “Sport” on the Columbus. If it’s a 600D, it will be with the new interior. The last I heard, build was only starting in July. For the latest Westfalia news, look at Togo Reisemobile.

It’s called sport on the order form. I assume it’s because it’s the 180bhp model as I don’t think there’s anything particularly sporty about it 😂 It is the new model and we won’t get it before December. It’s the dealers original Orders that we managed to modify. We’ll see if we see it this side of Xmas 😂😂

Considering the high cost of the Sven Hedin, I’m surprised it does not come with Reni’s blinds fitted as standard. Much simpler solution. Is there any reason you do not want to use internal fitted blinds?
@CampervanTime
@CampervanTime 8 дней назад
Not specifically apart from the extra bulk around the dashboard and the doors I suppose - plus they don't fully resolve the condensation issue in 4 season camping, so there are alternatives etc. Nothing against them though, very practical and easy especially when it's raining!

A pretty meaningless comparison which was so biased in its outcome to verge on the borderline of comedy. It was quite clear from the outset who gave you product to promote. However, for people who do not have remis blinds as standard have a look at products such as project camper from Germany. Superior in every way to the things in this video.
