In italian it's called Roma not Rome. That could be the reason? If that's the case all these charts only show English searches. Like, what people that are in Egypt search for in English.
I dont think so, here in Madrid lots of people actually come as tourists and not as football fans to watch a certain match. But yeah, two big clubs in a city may be have an influence.
Love your video's from india (nagaland). Drew you're a grt youtuber....your content is really informative and fun .......I really appreciate your high geography skill ......should I recommend you something why don't you check out country's from space at night(neo nasa video )......it *Will be fun* ......just a recommendation.....btw love your videos
Hey Drew. Idaho is searching "Moscow" as Moscow is a city in Idaho! The University of Idaho is there and it is an excellent road trip stop between Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene
@@greywolf7577 I believe that the city was founded in the late 1800s by Russian immigrants. The city was old enough and was known for the university that the name stuck doing the Cold Wat
@Your Majesty, i think as a whole it makes sense for japan to have more searches of London than new york, prior to WW2 the UK and japan were big allies. japan actually used to want to be the UK of asia. the UK taught them how to organise their navy and they became the first non-western country to defeat a western country after the industrial revolution (russia). in fact a significant factor that helped japan to win the war was that they had a defensive anti-russian alliance with the british. also the '45 atomic bombs dropped by the US are probably a big reason as well..
Yea I've been to London ky many times either stopping for a break or staying there But I'm from Kenton county ky and been almost everywhere in ky except for Louisville so...... Yea
@@MisterSpinalzo also if you live near a city you might just need to search it less often bc you see news about it on TV, know the geography anyway...etc
10:41 hahaha, you do not know that but it is mainly because of the biggest soccer team which called real Madrid... This is why people search it a lot ( espeacillay in our arabic country)
you have to take into consideration that cities are called in a different way in different languages. For example, in 10:46 , don't you think it's weird Madrid is search more than Rome in Italy? Well, that's because in most languages Rome is called Roma.
@Your Majesty, Most of them are exchange students. Because they can take English classes (and it's cheaper than US or UK for example), the VISA process is more flexible, and they are also allowed to work part time. But also other reasons, like it's easier to travel to other places, and it's a beautiful country... etc.
11:21 reason for craze for Johannes burg in Indian subcontinent and Australia is simply goes down to cricket as Indian sub continent ,South Africa and Australia are cricket nations and all l important matches of South Africa tours happen in Johannes burg wanderers stadium
1:59 São Paulo is used as a case study of an urban region on the Leaving Certificate (Our big exams at the end of secondary school) Geography course so perhaps that's why it's more Googled here lol.
Considering India is overflowing with population and still breeding like crazy while Japan is having a problem with decreasing population. Very possible.
@Serving It Cold yeah maybe that is a possibility..Mumbai is facing an acute shortage of land for further development but Delhi or wider NCR might overtake though that too not for long since African cities will experience a population boom and gradually India's population stabilise and then ultimately shrink.
12:11 fun fact: the biggest city in New Hampshire is called "Manchester". That's why New Hampshire is the only state with a Manchester majority. Alabama also has a city called "Birmingham", hence why they search up "Birmingham" Edit: Scap that. I kept watching and he said it himself 😂😂
It's not really an unknown reason, they pay better abroad and Polish people are pretty industrious and educated so they have no problem with finding a job somewhere else. They also assimilate really well, especially if they know English on a decent level :)
As a New Yorker, or a cockroach-rat-man, I really did not know that New York City was that popular. In the States of course, but globally I thought it would be more diverse.
another quick thing at 5:18 is how Liberia is searching up New-York city the most seeing as Liberia was once a pseudo-colony created by the US when they were trying to figure out what to do with freed slaves, they thought they could send them back to Africa. however the freed slaves ended up turning the native Africans to slaves and modeled their society off of the pre-civil war south
How has Drew not realized part of the reason a city is searched in a certain place is because migrants from that city moved to said country, hence why the said city is searched there Also: Day 191 of asking Drew to delete the discord
@@droptimistic ok ya sory i had old data. Its France that is the most visited, with 90 million people in 2018. But paris is second, ao its still pretty good. Surprisingly, London is 3, and NY is only 7 th.
@@enalche2 Madrid gets so many searches because of Real Madrid. I'm sure Barcelona would have a lot of results too, but only because of football, nothing touristic.
6:35 there's a city in Idaho called Moscow which is semi-major in the state there's also Belgrade, Montana with a similar status as Moscow, Idaho which is just funny
1:30 Angola and Mozambique speaks Portuguese. We Brazilians watch a lot of Angolans and Mozambicans RU-vidrs and they consume almost everything of entertainment from Brazil, like our soap operas, movies, music, RU-vid, and etc. The world may don't know but we still have a connection. As a Brazilian I can say we have a special connection with Angola, they're the best in comedy And in 2:00, about that, Ireland has one the biggest Brazilian diaspora in the world
1:46 Yes... As a brazilian, Brazil have a connection with Portuguese speaking countries, especially with Angola, because of the internet and memes, Angola and Brazil it's like the same country in the internet lol
Of all places, I never thought that Ireland would have a lot of Brazillians, I guess we just share the love for the Green color, we even have in our flags!
India's GDP is 2 trillion and is by far one of the poorest countries in the world. How is it increasing its economy incredibly. Also I haven't noticed any influence culturally at all. In what way has it increased it's influence
I find surprising that almost the whole world is more interested in LA except for the USA itself (and some others) that searches more Chicago, like why is this city only that popular in its own country?
