The US styled itself as anti-imperial, wanting European colonial powers out of Africa, Asia etc but only to extend their own influence and power. Similar to Japan in the 1930s and 40s.

The U.S. invaded Russia during and after the Russian Revolution. The American Expeditionary Force (AEF) North Russia landed in Arkhangelsk and the AEF Siberia in Vladivostok both in 1918. The Arkhangelsk force did not penetrate very far into Russia because resupply of the forces became difficult and they were unable to successfully recruit Anti-Bolshevik forces to aid the invasion. The goal was to reach forces of the Czechoslovak Legion that had been fighting the Germans in WWI and had become stranded inside Bolshevik Russia. They were attempting to retreat, but were barred from returning to their homeland to the west as by that time Russia had exited the war and didn't want anti-Central Power belligerents crossing into the Eastern Front from now neutral Russia. They were ordered to go east to Vladivostok to sail to Europe from there, which is why the AEF Siberia landed in Vladivostok and traveled west via the Trans-Siberian Railway to secure the members of the Czechoslovak Legion. They also wanted to keep Japan from using the Russian Revolution as a pretext to create a puppet state in the Russian Far East as they eventually successfully did in Manchuria and Korea before WWII. While the AEF Siberia did manage to help evacuate the Czechoslovak Legion, both AEF interventions are regarded as failures/defeats for the U.S.

Two things that I would change about this list is #1 The year spain is added to the list. Andrew Jackson invaded Spanish Florida in 1818 & #2 I would and France to the list. During WWII the US invaded north Africa under the government of Vichy France which I think should count.

Why wasn't the war of 1812 covered?

What about Northern Russian expedition during russian civil war? USA intervened on the side of the white forces against the bolshevicks (in modern day Arkhangelsk oblast). It mostly consisted of small scale scirmishes though of about few thousand soldiers before americans just withdrew. And in russian far east Vladivostok and Khabarovsk regions as well there were bigger battles with red forces and partisans, the occupation of Vladivostok was the longest in the civil war. The war however was on very small scale and very unpopular in America so it pulled out relatively quickly. Not surprising that this part of history is not well known because it can harm relationship between two countries

This list needs: -Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War (1918-1925) with US Troops invading Russia -Vichy France (French Colonial Empire) being invaded with Operation Torch Technically you won't find the word "invasion" in US nomenclature, "intervention" is used, which can be interchanged with "invasion" on a case by case basis.

Actually the Philippines declared independence on June 12, 1898 which made it de facto independent from Spain. So it was a legitimate invasion of a country by the US, and not as a colony

Technically the lower 48 states did see military conflict in WWII. U-boat combat right off the East and Gulf coasts. Japanese physically shelled and bombed the West coast in minor raids.

You could say that the us invaded spanish cuba or something like that. Also I think leaving out Naval only wars is a slight mistake. The US occupied Veracruz with a purely Naval, as in the navy, engagement using ground forces drawn from the crews of the battleships involved in 1914.

The reason why the Philippines actually lose the war to US because during that war, Filipinos also fighting with each other too and they even call their greatest enemy that time are not the Americans but their fellow Filipino.

What about 1832 when USA invaded the malvinas islands which were under the control of argentina but due to the american invasion all the defenses of the islands were destroyed and the british used that chance to invade the islands and rename them as falkland islands.

USA did invade independent Philippines after Spanish-American War. The Philippines declared their independence after the revolution but later on with US presence on the country, they take the chance to invade the Philippines

During ww2, the USA was invaded by Japan, islands that are part of Alaska were invaded and occupied by Japan.the Vietnam war was a coalition of countries that were asked to help South Vietnam stop the invasion of South Vietnam by North Vietnam, so it wasn't an invasion because it was military assistance to south Vietnam. During the Korean war the USA did invade China which caused the Chinese government to send its forces into Korea and the coalition forces were pushed back to where the original north and south Korean border, this border was the agreed border at the end of ww2 just like the north and south Vietnam border was the agreed border. This agreement was made between Stalin and the USA. The invasion of China during the Korean war ended Macarthur's career because he was ordered not to enter China, if he hadn't disobeyed his orders, there would not be a north and south Korea today. Technically, the Korean war was not an invasion because South Korea had asked for assistance, but the USA did invade China during that police action. During ww1, Germany did not have any intention of invading the USA from Mexico and did not assist Mexico in any way, this was a British lie designed to get the USA involved in ww1.

During the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) World War I occurred and by the time Germany began to lose in 1917, they sent a secret telegram to the president of Mexico via their ambassador in which they PROPOSED that if we allow them to use us as a floormat to invade the US, Germany would later "help us" recover the lost territories of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. California wasn't mentioned. The pact was more than rejected by Venustiano Carranza because it didn't make any sense. And that was it. On the other hand, Pancho Villa decided to raid the border town of Columbus in 1916 because he felt like it. Neither the Mexican government, nor Pancho Villa, ever received "assistance" from Germany. You mistook two historical events that took place around the same time, but that were fueled by completely different catalysts and situations.

I really like your content and all your videos. Just one thing, Mexico was not an empire by the time the USA invaded, the first empire lasted only for two years (1821-1823), and it was a republic (although not a stable one) by the time the war with the USA happened.

I think it's more amazing that we did all these invasions and yet we never had an empire. We never participated in the Scramble For Africa, or tried carving up Asia (except the various Pacific islands we got when Japan surrendered). We never had a king or were part of a Kingdom since before our independence, we've never been under a Military Junta, or under enemy occupation. We've been very fortunate as a country and I'm glad for it.

The entire settlement of west (throughout the 1800s) was one long invasion of foreign lands... The lands of indigenous tribes. Most Americans are blind to that fact. Listing north American natives is one country is kind of silly. It's kind of like considering all of Europe as a single country. I feel like most tribes would be annoyed by this video. Also we still have ongoing conquest of tribes today as we have folks chipping away at tribal reservation lands.
