I've traveled from India to Armenia for work. I don't think I was very popular in Armenia since I was very strict. But Armenians loved my other countryman who came with me - they would go dancing with him at the clubs in Yerevan. In any case, I'm very fond of Armenia.

I'm Dutch and traveled to armenia quite often. I was there before the war of 2020, after the war, and during the war and some of my friends went to fight in the war. Before the war there was little hatred despite the racism and many massacres that were comitted against armenians by turks and azeris. I even met a azeri in yerevan in march 2020 while having dinner in a restaurant who had a very positive experience in armenia. Now after the war there is a lot of hatred (and rightfully so) and the feeling that the turks will never stop till every armenian is killed. I saw the country get from a very positive mood into a deep depression. Imagine almost every armenian lost family during the genocide and many have lost people in the cruelest fashion during the azeri pogroms in 1980s and 1990s, today almost every young person knows someone who died or got wounded during the war. So many 18 year olds lost, every family is mourning in this poor tiny isolated country. Armenians are the warmest kindest friendliest people you will ever meet but reconciliation is very far away. Every week armenians are shot at, prisoners tortured to death in baku and those who decapitated civilians are getting medals by the dictator of Azerbaijan. On social media azeris meme and send videos of civilians being decapitated or tortured while azeris laugh and celebrate and mock mourning armenians. It will be a long time before sentiments will change. There was a chance for peace and open borders but its definitely gone now. Azerbaijan chose war

As a Turk who has Armenian roots, I believe both sides have a lot to learn from each other. We are very similar people living in the same geography for centuries. Which is happened in the history is not like they are told to us. I know numerous examples of Armenian children adoption by Turkish people around me.
The famous adoptions came just after world war one, as a way to hide the genocide and erase it from history. Hyprocrisy!!
