i see lots of comments about Ethiopian women. but none about the men. i will also say we find our men the most handsome and love them. i also see a lot of comments that attribute the appearance of Ethiopians to being mixed. and that the "Black" ones in the video are the real African Ethiopians. no we are not mixed, we are a diverse nation with over 85 ethnic groups and 100 languages. we are completely different ethnic family groups that is why there is drastic differences in appearances. the Ethiopians being referred to as "Black" are from the Nilotic and Nilo Saharan speaking family. this includes; Gumuz, Berta, Nyangatom, Nuer, Anuak, Kwego, Kunama, Surma ethnic groups and more. they are the same ethnic groups from South Sudan. they are found in Beneshangul Region and Southern Nationalities Region of Ethiopia. other Ethiopians being referred to as "Black" are from the Omotic speaking family. this includes; Wolayta, Shinasha, Aari, Hamar, Konta, Basketo, Bench, Chara, Yem ethnic groups and more. they are also found in the Southern Nations Region of Ethiopia. other Ethiopians are from the AfroAsiatic Kushitic speaking family. this includes; Oromo, Agaw, Silt'e, Hadiya, Kaffa, Konso, Afar, Somali, Irob, Argobba, Kambaata, Gedeo, Sidama, ethnic groups and more. they are found in Northern, Central, Southern and Eastern in every Region of Ethiopia. Kushites are also found in Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, Northern Kenya, North Sudan and Egypt. and other Ethiopians are from the AfroAsiatic Semitic speaking family. this includes; Tigray and Amhara. they are found in the Northern Regions of Ethiopia. other Semitic speakers are also found in Eritrea. Habesha Semitic speaking tribes have a history with a Kingdom and cultural exchange with Yemen. which introduced Semitic Ge'ez alphabet and Semitic Ge'ez language from Yemen. the identity of the Habashet tribe from Yemen became connected to the Horn of Africa because it was apart of the Axsumite Kingdom (Northern Ethiopia, Eritrea and Yemen). this was largely a linguistic and cultural exchange, not a genetic one. other Semitic speaking ethnic groups like Harari and Gurage occured from trade and mixing with Northern Semitic tribes. and Falasha are a Hebrew people who are one of the 12 lost tribes of Izrael. Kushites and Semitic speaking Ethiopians still look the same. Semitic Ethiopians are still closely related to their Kushitic family. one cannot tell the differences between our appearances. we have the same phenotype, cultural food, cultural clothes, land etc. it has nothing to do with being "mixed". our physical appearance is simply the genetics of Kushitic people in the Horn of Africa. even within Habesha and Kushitic people, we have light skin, brown skin and dark skin people. wavy hair, curly hair and kinky hair people. as you can see Ethiopia is extremely diverse. there are AfroAsiatic tribes, Nilotic tribes, Omotic tribes. the reason we all look different is because we are different people ethnically, tribally, lingustically but nationally we are all under the nation of Ethiopia. and we are all *still* Black Africans in Ethiopia. we are also the home of many faiths like Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Indigenous faiths like Waqqafetta. Africa is the birthplace of mankind and genetic diversity. even tribes in North, East, West and South Africa all look different. and ethnic groups in the same country look different. look at Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria. it is very easy to see different appearances in ethnic groups. so of course AfroAsiatic, Nilo-Saharan, Niger-Congo, Bantu, Khoisan speaking ethnic groups across Africa are not going to all look the same. that is simply how genetics work. just like Europeans share the same continent and race but have different ethnic groups, languages and appearances. diversity is what makes us proud as Ethiopians and Africans. all Africans are beautiful. all variations of Blackness is beautiful. please do not promote strange uneducated beliefs about Blackness onto us. Ethiopia is known to be the birth place of humanity and oldest human fossils, our ancestors migrated to populate other parts of Africa and East into Asia, Europe and the rest of the world.
