this is an island with a small population under Emirati control and emeraties want to annex it so they poured a lot of money in. this island is a very bad representative for yemen. these people have not seen the extended of Saudi and Emirati atrocities. more than seventy percent of yemenis hate saudis and US more than any other country. US government gave the greenlight to saudis to attack and destroy houthis to prevent the expansion of "extremism" in yemen and after seven years all they have done is making people more sympathetic towards houthi cause. it's a self fulfilling prophecy. like the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

us The UAE Are enemies with North Yemen. Sanna is in North Yemen. Many people in Sanna hate us because they are enemies with us. Socotra is in South Yemen and South Yemen loves us because we helped them escape from starvation. we even built Schools and Hospitals for them. We even started projects there to try to make Socotra a Tourist Island

Surpised not one of them mentioned the Somali people which have been their most faithful friend for at least 5000 years. Even when they aided our enemies in the civil war, we took in their people and built them businesses. The Yemenis here are war-immigrants but they manage to find jobs at restaurants which is very rare and even in the desert countryside people pay them more sadaqah than ordinady Somalis in mosques, but they all favour the UAE which has given them a few breadcrumbs while bombing and accelerating their destruction this whole time.

The thing is the rest of Yemen’s opinions on other countries are nothing like this. We love our Somali brothers and sisters and we will never forgive the UAE and Saudi governments for what they did to us. Yes the south are mixed between south Asians and Somali people and it is because of the old trading and the other wave of south Asians with the British empire like aden and mostly they were Muslims and still are and the are from the Aryan race. While those who came with the old trading are mostly from the dravedian race. Go to south Yemen especially aden and you will see

Most people that live in socotra are off west Iranian origin and mixed with Indian women. A small % of socotra people are Bantu. Barely any Somalians. Not even proper Yemenis.

So What? He went to Socotra Island. if he was in Mainland Yemen it would be dangerous. The Houthis are a terrorist group in Mainland Yemen and There are many killings and Crimes in Mainland Yemen. If he was in Mainland Yemen he would have gotten hurt or probably killed or kidnapped by somebody. That's why he went to Socotra Island instead of Mainland Yemen
