People clearly know they are Asian however they don’t look like them so they generally get a category of their own due to their lack of similarities.

There are good looking and ugly people in every country. I think it's a matter of numbers. Overall, Koreans have more ugly people compared to China and Japan. For Europe, I would agree Russian men are nothing to look at. American men are very handsome, maybe due to the influence of Hollywood.

There are some Japanese who find SEA men attractive but in general, no. Most are seen as illegal migrants, poor blue collar workers and criminals in Japan. Heck, even Chinese are seen as such. Of cos, Koreans are the most favored Asians by the Japanese due to their higher living standards and K-Pop softpower.
