I know im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Frederick Jamal i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Love your videos! Always very clear and precise, and detailed information! 👍👍 I’ve hardly used my standard Striker..but after seeing this might have to upgrade to the CV.🤔 Thanks as always for making these videos to help us out! Best wishes!
I love my basic Striker 4, but I am leaning hard at getting a Striker 4 Plus....might go CV, but we will see. As the channel has more success, it will give me the chance to do so.
Very well done! However, now the Vivid 4CV is out on the market. Obviously the Vivid and the 4+CV have different transducers and I want to use this thing year round, so the bigger transducers are not conducive for use on the ice so one would have to get the ice fishing transducer. I'm guessing you would not have the Clear View functionality unless you were using the supplied transducer. So my question is is it worth it to get the top of the line when the supplied transducer can't be used when ice fishing?
I have a vivid and I could not be happier. At $180 it's an unbelievable bargain. I've had a lot of finders and this is hands down the best and easiest to navigate. I use it on my kayak
But what about the low area beam ?? When I see video of vivid the beam area I VERY small so many fish will not get detected 🤔 do you have a comment on that?? I was so close to buy vivid to my boat but didn’t bc of low area beam from the transducer.. I’m so confused and don’t know what to buy 🤯 It was a video from @1Cast1Fish that explained the low beam from vivid
I've watched your video on installing a transducer in the hull of a kayak, I would think that would effect the out come of the performance of the transducer, or does it?
Teriffic video! Are there any drawbacks to mounting these to the hull of my kayak (using duct seal) Especially curious about the 4cv vivid scanning tech. I fish a pretty shallow lake (8ft max). Trying to figure out my best option. Thanks in advance and keep up the great videos! 👍 Also - Is there a way to find a template for the base? I want to know if my RAM mount 7 holed baseplate will fit.
Should work fine thru hull...just make sure the mounting for the transducer is solid and no air gaps.....as far as mounts the one I use is linked in the description …that is the only one I have tried.
My dad got a new boat and we are planning going deep 10-80 feet maybe more, is it worth buying the plus just for the bigger screen and the map feature? I’m fine paying 150 max
Resolution is pretty good considering screen size and price. No the wiring for the low end transducer will not work with the CV, they are 2 different transducers.
Another great informative video my friend! I've been wondering if it's worth it to upgrade from my Striker 4 + to the striker 4 plus CV. What are your thoughts? I use mine on my Float Tube. Thanks man stay safe stay healthy
Dude you could teach a college course on this fish finder series. Really great explanations. I was thinking about getting one for my tarpon 140, this helps a lot.
Among all videos on sonars I have watched so far, yours are clearly the best: to the point, concise, and clear. I have a brief question. Comparing the specs of the recently released Garmin Striker Vivid 4cv to those of Striker Plus 4cv, it seems that the only difference is that the Vivid has new color palettes. Apart form that it is essentially the same unit, isn't it?
@@1Cast1Fish Thanks, I suspected so. Yet another brief question if you don't mind. I guess you have been asked it more than once but I didn't manage to find it in comments. Given that Garmin is replacing their Striker Plus line by the Vivid, there are very interesting offers of Plus 5cv that are starting to pop up. I am in the position to buy a sonar for my sea kayak and the natural doubt is, of course, whether to go for a Plus 5cv or a Vivid 4cv. Money wise it is very similar, so it is a larger screen vs a newer but seemingly the same model... I'd really appreciate some words of wisdom on this matter :)
I find when the price difference is this small just go with the best model they got. Then you’ll never miss a feature and always be happy with your purchase.
I have 4cv and use in a upper harbor scenario mostly. I find clear vue works best on fast scroll at slower speeds for accurately getting on top of guts that target species use to get to and from shallower feeding areas. GPS of course puts one there about but CV is quite exacting in getting the correct point of anchor. Nice informative video as usual.
The CV is a great feature once you learn how to use it...just like our fish finders...they are only as good as our knowledge is on how to work them. Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck out on the water
Well explained, of the course the dearer one is the best but hey when you are a serious fisherman why not, how about what they use on the big boats out there, some os them are amazing.
Yeah some of the really advanced sonars are $3,000 or more....crazy how much technology they put into these things. Even funnier though is that people pay thousands for a advanced sonar and never learn how to use it to the fullest.
Ive just brought a striker 4 plus. Will the GT20 transducer pair with this unit? Or will it be better to use the dual beam that came with it... I have the gt20 already attached from my last unit 45c.v
The 4 Plus is 1 step above the base model and includes the Quick Draw Map features, the Plus model does not have the Clear Vu (Down Scan) imaging. The GT 20 is used for Clear VU.
Something that's striking (😅) to me is the higher screen resolution spec on the Stryker 4 model compared to the Plus or CV. Is the lower res on the more expensive models noticeable in real-world use?
I think the other factor is that the Vivid and CV have a slightly larger screen area and that messes with the resolution. I honestly can not tell a difference
The Plus 4 is great, and can be found discounted sometimes. Also Look at the Vivid 4, as it can be found for only a few $ more when on sale. For Battery, look in the description links, I love the Nocqua 10Ah...last's many trips.
If in very shallow water you may be seeing alot of noise at the bottom of the screen, I have been in 2ft of water and the depth scale shows 10ft on the right side. Are you looking at the scale or the actual depth
I ordered off amazon, $107, I think it’s just the regular, good enough for this budget fisherman. Edit: I like that clearvu tho, been wanting to try it...some day
This guy Logan is spamming everyone begging for follow for follow 😩 hit u 4 times in this video crazy. Same with Music which changes the name every week weird
Have you tried the echomap plus 45cv? I can’t find any info or vs striker vids… It seems like the echomap is a better version with all the same features of the striker series
I have not tried the Echomap 45cv, however I do have the Echomap 106 Ultras. The Echomap is a better product IMO, but does come with a steeper price point. I think the best feature is the ability to run map cards, and update the units via SD card.
@@1Cast1Fish thanks for the quick response, I found the echomap plus 45cv on sale for $299 CAD, originally $479 until April 30… it’s like $50 bucks more then the vivid, at that price in Canada. BTW your vids are awesome
Anyone find the screen noticeably less bright or crisp for the 4 plus and the 4 plus cv than the basic 4? The basic 4 uses a different screen technology and I saw in a different YT vid that the basic 4’s screen was noticeably better and want to see if that was an anomaly or just what it is. Thx.
In most instances I would agree, go with the most you can afford or are willing to spend. However many times such as in my instance I just need a fish finder for the kayak on small creeks and rivers, so a small model is ideal. On bigger water I use my bass boat and the big 12" screens.
Hai sir i buy new gramin 4cv model Now is problems after i settings ready and i off... After i on back is setting go back to normal is setting factory...can u example to mi sir..
@@1Cast1Fish no sir i settings readay application and after finish i off...after 5minit i on back may setting dont have is return to setting factory way like dis ...u have video tutorials to setting can follow..tq sir
Congratulations! First video with essential information to define a good purchase. Thank you for the informations. Do you have comparison of Striker 4cv Plus vs Striker 5cv Plus? Grateful.
Hey Is the cv worth it in a kayak. I’m mostly in lakes and reservoirs, but most of the time I’m either slowly paddling or drifting along with the wind. Do you need to be moving/going a certain speed for cv to be useful or does it work while anchored/slowly drifting? Thanks!
The CV is a great choice if your really picking apart structure or want a better graphic image of what's under the kayak....or if you got the extra cash and want the most features. In most instances the Plus model is the best model for the majority of average anglers.
At the 3:27- 3:30 mark there is mention of depth, speed and temperature. What is meant by speed...the mph of boat while moving? Is this displayed on the traditional view screen as one of the numbers under the temperature? Is this covered in your tutorials...which one? Thanks much for clarifying. Several days later I contacted Garvin chat and got an answer---yes, the 3rd # down in list on sonar screen. Disappointed to be told that the owners manual was stopped being included with unit, but it is online at the site. See p. 3.
i am new to fishing...i am interested and my #1 need is to be able to come back to port from where i left off in case of heavy rain and fog wherein visibility is zero....will the GPS feature work on this? i will be using it in rivers in Asia....since we can not download maps to it. thanks
Yes it will work...however I would definitely recommend the 4 Plus for this type of thing. Bigger screen, and the contour mapping may be useful. Also I never recommend going out if conditions are that bad or expected to be bad.
Thanks for this video as it really helped my choice. So I just ordered the plus 4 cv. Do you know if the plus 4 and the plus 4 cv use the same transducer?
No they do not the CV models have a bigger transducer that gives you the down imaging capability. The Plus shares the same transducer as the standard base model Striker
@@1Cast1Fish I legit just picked up the 4CV tonight about 5 mins ago thanks to this video. Will hopefully get to use it a few times before the snow hits🙏
Thanks again for your garmin series. While your doing comparisons, can you comment on the Ecomap series of fishfinder. I kayak on the Northern California coast and inland lakes. Questions: 1. Are they as waterproof as the Striker series? 2. Are the charts preloaded in the units adequate or are there better charts for the California coast and inland lakes? 3. Could this work on a kayak? I have been caught in the fog where you can’t see the coastline, but I used the waypoints to get home (thank you for the instruction). I thought it would be nice to visualize the coastline if I’m ever stuck in the fog again. I continually return to your channel for instruction. Keep up the good work.
Wish I could help more, but I am not familiar with the Echo Series fish finders....here is what I do know 1. Are they as waterproof as the Striker series? Yes, they have the same IPX-7 rating 2. Are the charts preloaded in the units adequate or are there better charts for the California coast and inland lakes? Honestly it would be hard for me to say since I have never used those charts and have never fished CA...I would hate to steer you the wrong direction. 3. Could this work on a kayak? I don't see why not, many people use higher end units on their kayaks all the time...it will have more features than the Strikers.
Fishing for pelagics in deep water where I mostly just need to find bait balls and schools of tuna. Looks like maybe the basic model would be fine? Do the larger screens make a noticeable difference in being able to see the details on the screen?
Honestly if I was targeting those types of fish and conditions a larger screen would be better. once you get over about 100ft or so...you will wish you had a bigger screen normally...just makes the smaller sized targets easier to see.
Good video comparing these models . Cool they are a bit waterproof. Looks better than my old black n white fish finder lol Good information. Stay safe and have a great night bud .
@@1Cast1Fish it's been ok , cold.front has messed up the big girls coming shallow for now . Yeah I haven't used mine for my kayak in over two years since I never have used my kayak on a video once lol
So I did purchase a Garmin striker vivid CV and I checked the list of transducer types. With the new model I purchased I get the Garmin GT20 Transducer and I connected it to the boat. My old one was the Dual Frequency 200/50 khz Transducer. I have 2 of the 200/50khz one for the boat and one for ice fishing and now I know that the vivid has a list of transducer types then I should be able to use other transducers as long as you select the right one. So I connected the dual transducer 200/50khz to the vivid and selected the correct Dual Frequency and it works however you will not get the clear view imaging. So it is nice to know that Garmin gives us more opportunities to use old transducer types or purchase newer ones. Not sure if this is a safe practice and I do not want to damage anything but so far so good.
I wish I have seen this video before I have ordered my garmin strike 4 , it’s nice video explaining the difference between the three units. Is garmin striker 4 good enough for onshore kayak fishing ? In our country the sea is very deep just few distance the sea can be up to 100m deep.
I just bought the striker 4cv based on your tutorial. Do you have any tutorials on the cv? I had the striker 4 for several years, and it was a great little depth finder but I felt it was time for a step up.
If I ever get one sure, I have no sponsors and no free gear, so I buy everything myself, so it limits the different fish finders I can really do in depth
@@1Cast1Fish Thanks mate. Was enough to convince me to buy the Strike plus 4 about an hour after watching. Have it in my hands now. Can wait to get out on the water and test it out.
