fr lmao, these still sounded cool but when i think of distortion i think of metal distortion and shit like that. my brain is just rotted idk. LEFT HAND PATH CHAINSAW TONE 😁😁😁
@Nick Vondo it was a joke cause he don't put any distortion to his guitar, even if the video is talking about distortion. For a fact that most comments keep saying he's afraid of distortion
@@jimthethirdprobably Ha! Funny you should say that, I play thru and early 80’s Classic VTX series w/Phaser - I love it. I think I spent $250 or something, the thing is big loud , I have to play it thru an old POD - and have as yet to really see what the amp can do on its own . Built like a freakin tank. If I had more money, I’d buy up several
@@hazor777 Peavey classics are my favourite amps. I have an early 70's peavey classic 212 with tremolo, and it takes pedals better than any other amp i have tried. also it was £70.
@@Obama-bi4fm fuzz and distortion are both distortion but they work different. Generally, fuzz pedals create more harmonic content. This makes: major 3rd chords sound out of tune, octave effects above 12th fret, and thick power chords. A distortion can be heavier and have more gain but reacts differently to the way you play. For ex. Palm mutes and complicated chords will sound better. The Proco Rat can sort of do both sounds so it’s a cool pedal, if you want to see how fuzz/distortion react different. With the filter open it lets harmonics through and sound fuzzy. With the filter set higher it sounds more like classic distortion.
Bro his cookie cutter strat licks and tones are so annoying to my ears, cmon man. I find his videos interesting but his tones are horrid. (Please note that this is my personal opinion)
@@TylerS9812bro you probably play in your moms basement and shred off beat to 80’s glam metal tracks. quit hating on different genres and find enjoyment in music for musics sake
These are more like overdrive or heavy crunch tones, but I think they all sound really good. It's definitely not distortion though, even if you're using a distortion pedal. You can use the boss distortion pedal as a sort of boost/overdrive, or you can go full distortion, especially if you stack it with other pedals or go into an already overdriven amp. Anyways, they all sounded good. It's cool to see you play a guitar with Humbuckers.
I’d rather have my Boss Katana MKII 50. On a side note, dude definitely sounded more like fuzz than distortion. I own the DS-1 and the DS-2 and both sound better than what he just played.
I've been playing live in a punk band for years and i will always love the fender amp tone. Got myself a hotrod deluxe and it works beautiful with pretty much every pedal I have.
Personally I will never run away from Marshalls. Im thinking about trying an orange because I can't afford a tube amp yet but maybe I'll get a tube marshall someday
Marshal and blackstar seem to have the nicest and most widely applicable tone, I'm not the biggest fan of the others, but I'm sure someone can find a way to make it sound amazing in a niche
I still like my good ol' 1974 Peavey Artist loaded with Mesa Boogie tube's, and a beefy Randall speaker.... I'm satisfied with my sound... it took years.... finally nailed the perfect sound. Perfect dirt crunch, when I put the Master Volume on 1½, and the regular Volume on 10.... 🎸👈😉👍
Depends on the genre, or even really the song. All of them except for the Fender Champion 20 made pleasing sounds to my ear, just different for different situations. Although I personally tend to be more of a traditionalist when it comes to gear, I really dig the sound you got with the Blackstar
Channel 1 of any 2-channel Fender Blackface or Silverface is a nice, clean, tube-amp sound to serve as the canvas to paint on with your axe’s and effects pedals.
Orange all the way for me personally. I run a Schecter with EMG 81s through a crybaby wah, then a Boss Metal Zone, through the return on my Orange Crush Pro 60 all connected with Mogami cables.
I hate to say it, but the Marshall Cab sounded really good for this. I've never fully bonded with the Marshall tone on my own, more of a Vox dude for British tones. But the Marshall sounded pretty good.
For any one wondering there is no “distortion pedal friendly amp”. Almost any will sound good if you just adjust the settings right and the difference in sound here is mostly different kinds/sizes/amounts of speakers. Here are some easy settings for making distortion pedals sound good. - Fender or clean amps = lower the tone, crank the gain, volume just a bit louder than the clean guitar. - Marshall or crunchy amps = tone a little lower than halfway, lower distortion, more volume. - Blackstar or higher gain amps = lower tone on guitar, turn up tone on pedal, lower distortion and more volume. Ps. A Marshall cab doesn’t do the same thing as a Marshall amp…
