So this is my opinion on which halo has the strongest jackals. WARNING: THIS IS SURPRISINGLY MY OWN OPINION Also depends on the situation. For instance sometimes power jackals will overcharge the plasma pistol immediately taking out your shields, whilst the Elites or Grunts take you out. (i always play on legendary) Energy Jackals (lowest is the lowest difficulty and highest number is highest difficulty) Also never played ODST and only played a lil bit of reach 6. Halo 4 (incredibly predictable and almost never overcharge their plasma pistol) 5. Halo 3 (why i dont really have a reason, just in my opinion are easy to kill) 4. Halo Reach (simply because they have the best shields) 3. Halo 5 (they overcharge alot from my experience) 2. Halo CE (they are very unorthodox) 1. Halo 2 (they are incredibly good at distracting you whilst elites kill you, and also are very good at draining your shields) Sniper Jackals 6. Halo CE (pretty sure there are none in this game) 5. Halo 4 (i barely ever saw any) 4. Halo 5 (same with 4, never really saw alot) 3. Halo 3 (legit have a light on their head, and also are only in 2 missions if i remember correctly) 2. Halo Reach (they are way easier than halo 2 because of that light on their head) 1. Halo 2 (true pain)

Everyone always thinks that the skirmishers were wiped out on Reach, in lore their numbers didn't even take a huge hit, they just weren't included in other Halo games.

The main weakness of the Halo CE jackals is that their shields don't protect against melee attacks, so if there are just a handful of jackals, rushing in might work. They also die with just one headshot like the grunts, but getting that headshot is much harder than with jackals from Halo Reach for example.

The tail ends of this list are fine. I think there's an argument to be made that Halo 4 Jackals are the easiest because of the headshot bullet magnetism in that game. Combined with the ease at which one can get Jackals to drop their shields, I rarely feared them in Halo 4. However, you made a few great points about the ODST Jackals' AI weaknesses that at least justify ordering them in the fashion you did. Like with your Elite list, I knew which I'd put at the tippy top here. Halo 2 Jackals are the most annoying and potentially deadly enemy in the game, rank for rank. Snipers are "aimbot fast" and one-hit-kill deadly. Combined with being one the most difficult enemies to kill due to irrationally high damage resistance and low frequency of shield drops, Jackals are insanely powerful in Halo 2. I disagree with the middle of this list quite strongly, though. I would order them as such, from weakest to strongest: Halo: Reach - No snipers with Beam Rifles, no supercombines with needle weapons, ease of shield drops and follow-up headshots; mainly, though, Skirmishers are NOT Jackals: both Jackals and Skirmishers are Kig-Yar, but they are not the same enemy class (hence, their clear distinction in human naming nomenclature; they even have different homeworlds) Halo 5: Guardians - Tougher than Halo 4 and Halo: Reach Jackals because harder to stun, plus you forgot to mention that Halo 5 Jackals are the first EVER that will melee you up-close with their shields; will carry Needlers and can get supercombines; snipers can one-hit-down you, but they spawn in predictable places, and I've rarely had my whole team taken down by a single sniper, as I was usually in enough cover when hit to be revived by less exposed teammates Halo: CE - The most difficult aside from Halo 2 Jackals becuase they are harder to hit in the hand (therefore harder to stun), there's less bullet magnetism for headshots with the pistol, and most definitely the likeliest of all Jackals to successfully hit you with a plasma pistol overcharge (from great distances, around cover, etc.) due to the high tracking capabilities of that attack in CE; less deadly than Halo 4 and 5 Jackals for sure, but their support capabilities in CE and challenge killing with anything other than a grenade makes them a quite distant second place on my list

This ones a bit harder to explain than the Elites. Basically almost all the shield Jackals are little more than cannon fodder in every game, baring the unique Skirmishers, while the Snipers are the dangerous ones. Jackals in the lore are generally treated more as mercenaries than real soldiers so in most situations the shield Jackals are probably little more than untrained bodies the covenant pays to be thrown into the grinder. The Snipers are probably the only real ones with actual training and may or may not be more elite Jackals who prefer to distance themselves from the combat and let the Green Horns absorb the bullets for them. Therefore, the stronger the Snipers are the more elite the Mercenary unit can be said to be. The strongest snipers are in 2 and 3 which accompany the Prophet of Regrets personal flagship, so these where probably the most elite mercenary companies that the covenant could obtain and were therefore only used sparingly wherever the high prophets felt the most dire need of skilled soldiers to be. The Snipers in 5 were probably the most experienced Jackals to survive the war and probably spent time being hired by each faction (Swords of Sanhelios, the Banished, the Arbiter, etc) to raid and conduct attacks on the other factions to destabilize them after the war, so they would probably have snipers equal or slightly lesser than the ones employed by the Prophets, which is probably why they are such good shots. The Skirmishers are obviously just a very well trained sub species of Kig-Yar which never where that numerous and were mostly exhausted after the Siege of Reach. TLDR: The Shield Jackals are probably all newbies to their mercenary company and don't really matter, while the snipers are where the money and talent are. Best Snipers either served the Prophets directly or made bank working for every faction that needed to attack every other faction once the covenant splintered all to hell.

The mission Truth and Rec has a few glitches in it that I have found. 1 is at the end of the mission, you can kill Keyes AND hit the switch for the ship and doing so will allow you to lose, and win at the same time. 2 is when the Pelican comes to drop off marines in the big room, you can hop on it and get to the second level. It allows you to progress with the mission and get to save Keyes, then when you get to the room where the marines wait for you normally with Keyes, after everyone is done chatting, you'll beat the level instantly.

I remember in halo 4, the enemies are much less likely to shoot you in the back. They would actually try to face you before attacking. I cheesed through a lot of skippable fights by just looking at the ground or walking backwards on legendary.
