Nothing because if people are then it's likely they can afford to...I mean I could since I can make that kinda money in less than a week if I wanted to but cos I don't love working that hard or spending that much money I don't.😊
Here's the major difference no one talks about, support. Valve is pouring support into the Deck, 3rd parties are pouring support onto the deck, hardware and software are being optimized for it. Aya and One X? They don't even support their current product, they are too busy and focused on making another one that they will abandon as soon as it's available to buy.
Yes and the ease of repairability / upgrades on steam deck is incredible. You can buy a 64gb refurbished steam deck et easily upgrade it to 2tb, difficult to beat that kind of value
I agree with you regarding suppport. It may be steam decks greatest strenght. But I disagree that no one talks about it. Literally everyone points this out.
Valve is the only company that was big enough to push PC handhelds into a consumer-based population at a consumer-based price. Like it or not, they've lit up the portable market as a huge success. If you want to spend $1500 on a handheld to get 10 more frames than the SD, that's on you. But make sure you thank Valve on your way out the door.
Steam Deck is underpowered and it will be the first to fall behind, the Windows based handhelds. And this even with Windows hogging more performance as the more demanding OS. You also have more options from where you get your games from with Windows.
@@peterpereira3653Okay? You can install Windows on the Steam Deck. You have to do some tweaking, but if you’re telling me you’re willing to pay 1000 dollars extra just to have Windows preinstalled, I have a bridge to sell you.
GPD and Aya were making handheld pcs well before Steam. If you want to gargle Valve's balls then you do you, but make sure you thank GPD for walking so Valve could run on your way out.
Dude crib looking good, kind of gives the vibes that he could probably afford another $1,00 unit ifffff I were to try and make an educated guess. Sheesh I would be shitting a brick if anything that costly including the steam deck was on the ledge.
I'll agree with this. The thing I love about the deck is that it cost me around the same as a Nintendo Switch. It was console priced which made it so much more friendly! My wife has an Ally which was a lot pricier but still, the price we paid was reasonable and no more than a console. She uses it like a tablet and for gaming. If we were going to pay £1000+ I'm just gonna get a mid range gaming laptop that'll last me a few years!
@@therunawaykid6523 all the illegal practices.. spying.. inability to turn this off despite pretend options that are supposedly letting you do that.. telemetry that takes up processing power.. taking ownership away from the user.. forcing updates.. being focused on million thongs that have absolutely nothing to do with what the user needs it for.. etc. etc.

As a nintendo switch fan I finally got me a Steam Deck OLED. And oh my God it’s amazing. Still love my switch OLED for nintendo exclusives but everything else I just play on my Steam Deck. And it looks incredible.
My friend got a Steamdeck a while ago and he just uses it as a standalone pc, it runs nearly every game on the steam store great, even ones that aren’t verified. He has two monitors hooked up to it with a keyboard and mouse, he also uses the integrated microphone on calls and it sounds great. It runs just as good as a mid to high end gaming pc, even with windows booted onto it with an external drive, and it is a beast when it comes to emulating, you can run virtually any console game on it, better than the console that it’s made for can. And again this is on a computer that’s not even made to be a standalone pc, for around $600 (that’s including more separately bought storage). TLDR; the Steamdeck is the best choice.
I’m gonna buy one but don’t know anything about shaders and bottles and all this random PC stuff I just wanna be able to play OW and COD without installing a bunch of other stuff 😢
@@bigbruv5328 No, you’re confusing it. There’s a difference between best pound for pound vs the best. Price isn’t counted in when you’re just comparing straight metrics, when you add in cost then it’s value/pound for pound
@@misterspock4630 Steam deck is still the most optimized and will be more power/performance efficient than the x. $1400 for a RX 6700 is simply not worth it.
@@05zianne I mean, It depends because I only pay $300-$400 for another iPhone because I don’t get the absolute newest model. Walmart has models that are two years older than the newest ones that go on sale every so often so when I need an upgrade I just buy that. The new one is the 14 right? So I’ll be buying the 12 at Walmart soon for like $400, maybe $500 at the most. I see no reason to get the newest model if a slightly older one is going on sale. So essentially I’m personally paying the same price as a Steamdeck for a new phone.
@@TheSurrealist. Not to mention, most cellphone carriers are always offering promotions where you can trade in your older phone model for $800-$1000 off on the new model. Handheld PCs offer nothing close to that.
@@robras2850 But he’s right. This video goes into absolutely no detail on what each device is capable of which is hands down the most important factor in deciding which one is right for you.
The fact that the steam deck is NOT Windows based is a selling point. You're having to battle so much resource consumption for shit you're not using on Windows, and Windows is just not designed for this kind of platform. The Steam Deck is designed for this experience from the ground up, and it can still be used as a full-fledged pc, which I use mine for. Besides, it's not like you cant install Windows on it... If you really feel like categorically ruining the experience lol Not to mention the cost of Windows contributes to these other devices' cost.
@@fabiandrinksmilk6205 it doesn't make sense replying to me cuz the comment from pizzaomc was about putting windows on the deck and all I did is to comment that the ally has windows stock
I bought an Rog ally and it broke the first day , then I got a steam deck this week. For what it’s trying to do , it does it very well. They put thought into their product and it shows from the moment you unbox.
Awesome 😔 i cannot even bye the simplest , in my country everything is 10times more expensive than yours, good 4 you bro, enjoy you life , peace n luv to u bro 💖🇮🇷💖🇮🇷
I think the steam deck is the best for me because I have a steam account and the steam deck can play so many games and I only want pizza tower and SA1&2
Be curious to see a follow up including the GPD 4 which comes in at a cheaper price point and is smaller than all of these and closer to a PSP successor.
Also Valve has just released the Steam Deck OLED that is faster, clearer, longer battery life, faster charging, etc. The OLED also has 512GB and its only $550. Also you can easily upgrade storage with a fast 1TB Micro SD or an internal m.2. Also it has emudeck which is freaking awesome for emulating the games of your childhood. I have one and its worth every penny. If you're thinking about getting one then get one you won't be dissapointed.
what's this, a steam deck ad? It's hilarious the dude compares steam deck with just two extremely expensive handhelds that no sane person would ever give this kind of money for a HANDHELD ffs LOL
Be wary of any of the Chinese ones. If a year later yours needs repair or parts. It will be a pain to replace or to get to support. Love the one x and ay but steam deck is more trustworthy long term
Steam Deck was my first proper introduction to Linux, and I feel you on wanting Windows, but there are a ton of tools that you can use to essentially make it run like a Windows. I’m able to not only play a lot of Steam games - that are not officially supported or approved - with no issues, but I have all the emulators. Got Nintendo Switch emulator to work to play BoTW. Ultimately, I prefer Linux over Windows now.
@@erichanson3148 No bloatware, a lot of built-in optimizations straight from Valve, instant boot and pause, and things just work with very minimal settings required.
To help you out, I'll share some details but not to persuade you to pick. So the Aya Neo is more expensive than Steam Deck unlike before. However, Aya Neo doesn't support long-term support. Every 6 months, they release a new updated model rendering the previous off. As for Steam Deck, mostly updates but is supported for long-term. Question, will you spend several times for a console or buy once which goes long-lasting? *I don't know much about OneEx console so I can't tell you about it.
Gdp. Steam deck if you install Windows doesn't support hardware accelerates video encoding so you can't stream you can't record your screen at 60fps+. That's a deal breaker if you want to use it as a pc.
The positioning of the right thumb stick on the Steam Deck makes all the difference for me. It is painful to play on my Switch for more than an hour and less comfortable, overall.
that's still cheaper than than the Aya. I had the 2021 version and dropped 1200 on it...then it fell out of my bag onto the concrete, RIP. Steam deck is like 400buck and a 2tb 2230 is like 280 on ebay. so like 700 bucks all together.
Steam deck for sure. I already deal with enough windows issues on my PC. Nice to have something running a simple operating system that doesn’t break all the time. Plus I have abnormally long fingers. The other systems shown look really uncomfortable like the Nintendo switch
Steam Deck I had all 3 for two weeks and I settled for the Steam Deck. The Price/Performance is crazy and I just love this device. You can use is as a Handheld Computer. Valve made it a soo smooth experience. You can browse the Web and Valve made their thoughts about anything. The other Platforms are just klunky and have a smaller Screen. Also im now a Linux lover. Never used a Linux System before but damn, it’s a snappy system that let you do what want and has no bullshit menues that hide shit from you.
@@stoniegadg3t-music345 Steam sure, it’s the steam deck from valve. Xbox Marketplace not, but who uses this? Xbox Gamepass via cloud works great. And you can run any normal windows game just fine, even Epic store and the most games from there work. You also can install Windows via dual boot if you want both systems and from there you could use Windows Marked place or play games that can’t run on Steam OS because of anti cheat like Overwatch 2. But if you really want you can run any game with the steam deck. There is always a way. ;) even a way to play Nintendo Switch games on the steam deck, but pssst. ;p
I mean i well perfer the steam deck cause you can play all the games like for free and it has gta 5 so like you can play gta5 when you on the go like i whould perfer the steam deck to be honist
I swear by my GPD win4, i know price tag is a lot but the feel, keyboard, ports, battery all have been great. Owned it for like a year and i don't regret it.
