Being an ECE and working in IT gives me an edge over CS in my troubleshooting and problem solving skills. It really helps in your profession at a later stage.
@@alimuhammed7785depends on what your career plans are. If you want to do masters or go for a job. If you want to go for a job, I would recommend Linux, cloud, Kubernetes related certification courses for a quick jump to IT jobs and SRE (site reliability engineers) are most needed in organizations nowadays. Do some research on these job titles to get some idea.

A is not better than B. Vice versa. Everything getting automated. Electronics & electrical , coding , mechanical... are needed for automated systems. Take one of your taste or random... Become the one expert in that. IITs are better than NITs. GEC > Aided > self financing. You will get admission according to your capability of gaining and applying knowledge. Yeah It's major Subject is Electrical so It's approved in PSC .It have al lot of scope in Abroad. According to American System .It's BS in Electrical and computer Engineering in USA and Canada. Computer Science Branch comes under Electrical Engineering In American System. So when looking Masters ( MS ) in Abroad especially USA It's very useful

My sister is in MACE. she told me the companies providing placement only allowed for CS department (the college already has 3 cs courses), so probably gonna be very tough for other core branches
Don't do anything with fancy phrases. B Tech is basic course where you are taught basic theory. Unless you are talking about going to IITs, all this will not help. Top product companies - Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft won't recruit anyone from Kerala colleges, even CET. Those are the companies that deal with AI. Even statu ups will look for tier 1 and 2 colleges. If you are thinking about IIT, you are okay. You will get placed somehow - small chance for AI but other product companies will also consider you.

I know this is late, but I am trying to help those who are looking for the info. Engineering colleges are generally graded into three levels in India. Level 1 is 1st and second generation IITs and top 3-4 NITs. Level 2 is other new IITs and NITs. Everything else are Level 3. In Kerala, CET can be considered level 2, even though most people might consider it level 3. The rest are all level 3. Among them, few like Thrissur, Model Engg. College have some reputation and might attract some goid companies. The rest have zero value in terms of brands. Service companies like TCs, Infosys will consider them because they need huge numbers but not product companies who pay 3-5 times better than TCS. Dream big guys, don't compare the college's that have 50% pass rate. They are trash.

In cet mech, you would get better exposure, but not necessarily better placements.Ypu would likely choose non core jobs.If would be good if you go for mba etc.On the other hand,in ece nss, though the college reputation is less, branch is solid so you can write gate or so and if you get iit,nit etc you would get better placement than mech graduate.
@@devika5005 I am also looking to take admission in cet aeie as I have a rank of 2708.As i enquired, one cet aeie alumni (now working in abb Bangalore) said me there would be jobs for sure as you can get more or less same jobs as ece grads of cet in core, but she said software companies sometimes ignore aeie as aeie is not one of the so called 'core' branches. The other guy I called is studying mtech in vlsi at iitb now and he said me he studied aeie knowing he would take mtech in electronics in future. He also said the same that scope is more in eee or ece but aeie is good.If you study good(>8 cgpa)you can get jobs having CTC >=8lpa in cet aeie branch, both said. Also there is this atmosphere of cet around us.Basically the syllabus of both aeie and ece is almost same, differing only in 4 courses maybe in third year. The disadvantage is the lesser recognition of aeie and also that you have to study bit of instrumentation which many dislike.
