I'm getting the iPhone 13 in December. I had a 6s plus for 2 years and the battery just died, not a big deal. I was supposed to get a new phone, but I haven't got the chance to buy one. I wanted to get the iPhone 14, but I changed my mind, and choose a 13. A great budget-friendly option without breaking the bank. Great battery life, very nice display, a smaller notch than 12, and to get 3-4 years of software support. That's the best iPhone under $600 from Apple.
my gf and I just bought two new iPhone 13, I came from a iPhone X and her's was a SE 2. We both think it was an amazing upgrade, if you don't want the 15 (or is over your budget), just get de 13, has everything the 14 has and it's cheaper
Went from an android to an Iphone 14 last month, my gf has 13. The camera difference is huge, and i find the 14 much faster and it holds battery better.
@@GameDeveloperPrim-Evil it feels like, smoother? its more like user friendly, but id agree iphone has like 0 customisation, last couple updates though came up with some nice customisation festures but its still like nothing compared to android
I just upgraded from the iPhone X to iPhone 13 Pro Max 256GB. Great deal for it. Been using the iPhone X for almost half a decade now. Upgrading mostly because I was feeling a bit dated, I got my wife the iPhone 13 on release and was upgrading her from the iPhone 8. I found myself using her phone more and more for pictures. It was time! Fully intending on keeping it for the next 4-5 years; which imo is a good timeline to be upgrading your phone.
@@PineappleOnPizza69 Bought it late January 2019, sold it December 2023. Guess it’s around 4 years 11 months of use. Hope that satisfies you. Cheers 👍🏼
I have a 6 as a back up phone 😂 but most apps don’t upgrade anymore. Dad loves his 7 and I have the 11 but it’s dying and I want a bigger screen. I totally get where your coming from As I barely use the camera and I have noticed that one of apples upgrades always seem to be the camera 🤦♀️ now im confused 😂
@@PineappleOnPizza69haha my iPhone 6 is a decade old 😂 fk I feel old. I do have a dying 11. So I do need to upgrade but all these people that fall for the latest and greatest got me dying 😂
My iPhone 15 pro arrives tomorrow. I’m currently using an XR and before that iPhone 7. I’ve never been in a position to have to “latest” anything I’m so blessed ❤
@@ian-eg4dv well the truth is, it was awful and I sent it back 4 days later. The camera made everything look grey and weird. The next phone I get will be a Samsung 🤣
@@8bitchiptune420I just commented. I’m looking to get a newer iPhone. I have the 11 😂 it was a great phone but now It’s glitching and the storage is shite. So which do I get? I just want a bigger screen lol
im sticking with my 13 mini until it will die😭😂 it's the most perfect size of a phone i ever had. i really hope apple will give us a small sized flagship level phone again in the future bc an SE really isn't the same
Yeah…you are excellent reviewing the iPhone series…love the way you are comparing them…surely iPhone 13 the best ever instead of 14 & 15 standard…I got the 13 since last year…it’s so valuable but regretted I just only have 128g…you know nowadays 256 is better option…currently I would like to have the 15plus…cause of bigger and worth it….yeah u are just giving me confident to look for it.
@@luckystone2293if you don’t use much space 128 should be just fine. 256 is great for those who use a lot of space on their phones, but it’s absolutely not necessary to spend that extra money unless you know you will be using the added space. If you go into settings on you phone and then go into storage you will be able to see exactly how much of your storage space you’re actually using and if you still have plenty of unused storage space you should be completely fine with 128.
Thank you for your comprehensive and systematic review of all the options. I have the ancient dinosaur iPhone SE 2020 and I'm looking to upgrade. This was a very helpful review for the "average" user.
I think the 14 pro is a good option instead of the 13 pro max if you want the extras but I think the 13 would do fine for a while more if you just need a more regular phone
I had my 13 Pro Max for about a year but I think it was finally time to upgrade because I think I dropped it too many times and I don’t know what happened to it, but it cannot connect to Wi-Fi cell signal would not turn on so I was forced to upgrade to the latest 15 promax, but I still miss my 13 Pro Max quite a bit
I own it it’s to big heavy and uncomfortable. After using the 13 pro for over a year I just bought the 13 mini and it’s fantastic so comfortable. Battery life no issue for me because I was charging the 13 pro the night before then again in the evening next day so no difference.
I just upgraded to the 14 from a 6S Plus. It was on its last leg and the upgrade for it is $4.99 a month. I thought about the 15 but that was hitting for $25.39 per month. Absolutely not worth the jump.
I’d get the iPhone 14’s over 13’s any day. The data speeds compared to the iPhone 14 compared to any device that’s 13 or older the data speeds are way faster.
Iphone 11 is still good even tho its not sold Its sold by walmart and cricket 270$ brand new If you could find one go for it its still a good option way cheaper
@@Ilan444 Not iPhone 13 quality and not iPhone 8 either. A bit between the 2 having deep fusion and the A15 which helps. But its ok for most of the tasks
Currently have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and absolutely love it. The only thing I think I would change is getting a different color. I got the blue thinking it would grow on me, but it really didn’t wish I got the silver. but otherwise love it. 7:33 7:53
@@Thelivingliv that’s an idea I never thought of doing although I dropped my 13 Pro Max too many times and had to upgrade to 15 Pro max. I kind of wanted to go to android but had to switch to latest iPhone due to my AT&T plan next time
Love my iPhone 13 regular with 256 gb n it’s been a year 7 months n has awesome battery health n life. Looking forward to iPhone 16 regular or pro as both might be 6.3 inches screen size which for me is way easier to handle 😊 than pro max iPhones 😊
Same. Ill prob wait til 17-18 though, im not a fan of the island and am hoping i can skip it. I consume a lot of horizontal video on my phone and the idea of it constantly cutting into video is a no go as it is more intrusive than the notch.
Have you bought those subscribers? The views don’t add up? I’ve got 18.5k followers on TikTok and had millions of views. How much are you selling it for?
Own the 13 pro which is a heavy brick I’ve got bored of the uncomfortableness. Just purchased the 13 mini and it’s a breath of fresh air so comfortable.
I’m currently using iPhone 7 Plus & I’m thinking of upgrading to iPhone 13 soon but I’m worried about its small size so idk if i should buy iPhone 14 Plus however, I’m not gonna spend a huge amount on a phone so idk maybe i should wait till march to see if the se 4 is actually getting the new design
i suggest u to not go for 14 series.. base 14 models are no different from 13 and 14 pro models drain battery so fast. choose 13 pro max or 15 plus or wait until 16
@@masonstewart9535 it depends on ur daily usage. r u more into camera stuffs and gaming stuffs including 120hz ? If so, go for pro series although it's really heavy. u will only get 60hz which is not a big deal if u r a normal user and won't have the access to the latest camera specs if u choose 15plus but it's light and more than enough for daily usages like social thingies.
I’m still using my iPhone 8 Plus and it still performs smoothly and does everything the newer phones do apart from a less powerful camera but is still great quality footage. So is there really any need to upgrade?
@@parthjain7941 the latest isn’t necessarily the greatest. I want something that is bend proof and won’t break glass overly time I drop it. I’m a tradie
@@igorcovers the 14 could possibly be supported longer but both phones contain the same processing chip so they both could likely be unsupported at the same time along with the 13 pros
@@igorcovers of course, its just the 13 is similar and is more budget friendly, making it a better option for people who don't have much preference and have a lower budget. The 14 does have more features though.
Previously had iPhone 13 it was the best iPhone I’d owned up till this year, however due to daughter needing a new iPhone I upgraded to the 15. Result both of us extremely happy ….Apple clearly have stolen the market modern iPhones are brilliant and regular softwear updates for up to 6 years make them great value.
If the iPhone 15 series is above your budget, the iPhone 13 series is a no-brainer. They are still fast and have at least 85 per cent of what the iPhone 15 series have. I have both iPhone 15 Pro Max and just recently gave away iPhone 13 Pro Max both just awesome phones which will last many years
If you are on a prepaid plan then more likely avoid iPhone 14 and up, because most providers do not have a clear procedure to convert a physical SIM to eSIM. Only Mint mobile provides such procedure , because they are prepaid by default. The situation can be changed in future, but for now...
I'm stuck w an iPhone 11 and gosh the battery is so fucked... I can't update it anymore, too much glitches, I have literally no storage room left. I have this phone since is was 14 and now im 18. I think im going for the 15 plus. Although the pro looks very interesting aswell.
i got an iPhone 13 in late April of 2022, and i love that phone. it had great battery life and it never lagged, even when i ran ios developer betas. I just got an iPhone 15 Pro on the 23rd of this month, and it’s also a great phone, but it feels pretty much the same. The few differences i’ve noticed are the animations being smoother, it’s a little faster, better camera quality, always on display, power sharing, and of course the addition of the dynamic island, usb c, and the telephoto lens. if i wouldn’t have gotten the iPhone 15 Pro, i would’ve been perfectly happy with my iPhone 13.
@@alanzemsky7695 I would hold on to it as long as l could before upgrading, so maybe when Apple releases the 16 or 17 (depending on your usage and battery health)
Been a 14 Pro owner since December 2022, my first Pro iPhone. I don’t think I could ever go back to a non pro model unless the Mini somehow makes a return somewhere down the line. I like the 3X camera on the Pro, the Promotion display is also nice to have. It’s nice to have the option of a AOD.
Have an IPhone XR 2018 for the past 5 years and it still works well for my needs. I understand the SE4 is coming out in March, 2024. At $499, for a 128 GBs, that is going to be my new phone. All the needed features at half the price of a 14, 15 or 16.
@@AhmedGotaymon7 it last a while honestly and I can go the whole day using it regularly without charging it from 80% unlike my SE which could only last an hour from full

@@notsabih yea so it works like this, our battery health is prob at like 96 or 97 percent, but it displays at 99. There is a shortcut to find the true health and u can find that online. And iphones that aren’t plus or pro max lose battery health faster because 1% of their battery is a lot less that plus or pm’s 1%. Like my relatives 15 pro max is at 100% even after 10 months
@@thegameslayer33 Yeah but my old phone was 6.7” and oh man that phone was a struggle to use my hands are a bit small. Tomorrow i might buy the 14 pro ive been Samsung my whole life but finally want to switch over my biggest thing is battery life and from what i see the 13 has a worse battery but everything else is the same i kinda want a 15 but eh it's expensive
I recently got the SE 3rd gen and so far it met my needs. Small, light, can be used with one hand. I sold my 12 mini to buy a 6.7 inch android phone and i sold it after 3 months as my small hands get easily tired using it. So, i turned back to the small phone which is the SE 3rd gen.
im planning on switching from my iphone 10s max to the iPhone SE 3rd generation unless the 4th generation has a home button then ill switch to that one most likely.
I had a 13 mini and upgraded to the 15. I liked the mini but it was too small. Now that Apple has introduced AI with the upcoming iOS 18 I read it will only work with the chip and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max and the new iPhone16. I will wait to see what the AI is all about. Had I known I would’ve waited.
in August I am. Going to upgrade to the the 15 pro coming from a 13 just want a better camera and battery life the reason I want the better camera is for photography even though the 13 has a great camera
@@Javier-r1o8c Because there isn`t a single (new) iphone that is actually worth your money. Only a very very very small percentage of people actually need a phone that is as powerful as most iphones. Or other flagship androids for that matter. But since there is no 'cheap' option for iphone that is atleast 4+ years old. There is no Iphone truly worth your money. In my opinion ofcourse.
SE 3rd generation for me. I love it. My hands are really small and fit in my hands. The performance is great, and i’ve never liked the notch especially how the newer notch is literally taller than the older one which gives me OCD.
As an SE user: get a 2nd gen SE PLEASE, it’s the same phone for 1/3 of the price. The difference in power is negligible, the battery is basically the same (horrible for both 😢) and by the time the 2nd gen stops getting iOS updates you will be able to get a 3rd gen for 100 dollars. If you actually want a small phone and don’t mind spending 400 dollars you can get a 12/13 Mini. Obviously it’s your money and you can do whatever you want but yeah that’s my point of view.
@@mgmdc14battery is is way better in se3 compared to se2. (compared in real life) and speed is also 2 gen ahead ( A13 vs A15) even 13 pro max and 14 base have same chip
@@PrantikNath In theory yes, in practice the 3rd Gen has like one hour of screen time over the 2nd Gen in the best of days, so if you’re a power user it will not last the whole day anyway. And again, if you think the A15 chip is worth 300 dollars over the exact same phone with a A13 that’s fine, but I’m telling you it doesn’t feel any different 95% of the time. Ironically the extra RAM actually is noticeable but that’s it. The SE 2022 is a good phone, I’m not saying it’s not, but it’s extremely expensive for what it is; and I personally wouldn’t give Apple 300 extra dollars for 15% more battery and a slightly more advanced chip.
@@mgmdc14 1 hour extra time makes a huge deal cz that’s on screen time so overall its more than that, and this phone is not for power user in the first place. 2gb vs 4 gb ram also makes a difference. and you are right it’s expensive i forgot to mention i bought used and that’s why i got it cheaper. so used se3 is a good deal. buying new is not.
I have a first gen SE, ancient, but still works fine until the past month. The charging port has become flakey and the battery won't hold a charge longer than an hour. This is my 2nd battery, but I think it's time for a new phone since the charging port seems hooped.
I’ve never been in a position before to have one of the newest iPhones. I always got old half broken hand me downs off friends. I’m currently using the iPhone 12 Pro Max but I’m trying to decide if I want to upgrade to the iPhone 15 or just get the iPhone 13. I need help making my decision any suggestions anyone?
Current SE no, it'll be better to get a 13 mini. Edit: On second thought, if you don't have any interest of playing demanding mobile games and having the latest tech, the SE is still a good choice.
i've had the 2nd generation SE for a few years now, never really felt the need to upgrade. it does its job fine for what it is, you can make calls, text, and take photos. that's all i personally need in a phone, and the battery life was never a big issue for me because i always keep it charging.
No need to fix a design that is already perfect. Better battery and other interior features is far more important than changing the already great design.
Give yourself a budget, otherwise you will end up spending more than you need, the 13 is probably the smartest to go with. Will get ios updates for the next years, great camera, great design. If you got more money to spend it's always wise to choose the newest version and go with the 14 or 15 tho :)
if you dont mind 60 Hz and lack of dynamic island just wait for some good discount and buy 15 or just wait for 16 to come out, compare both and if there are no noticable differences buy 15 at cheaper price
Sad how iPhone went from affordable to rich people items. 6:50 That does not look very nice, and the comparison hardly shows a difference. 13 is really the sweetspot. I'm upgrading from 6S to it just now.
6.1 inches of screen is good for me i got a 6.5 inch phone currently and i can say that i wish it was smaller, it also limits risk of drops and more comfortable to hold. I personally want to switch to iphone after having a Samsung A03core for 1.5 years its honestly my worse experience considering this is my 1st Samsung device. Now i wont lie it was good until it past the 1 year mark now its laggy. I want something to last long term like 3yrs or more i think iphone is best for that also because it still gets updates i haven't gotten any updates on this phone since last year so yeah my worse experience with my first Samsung so I'm switching to iphone thinking about an iphone 12 maybe gotta be something with great quality and doesn't break my bank.
I have the iphone SE3 I got from Verizon bout a week ago so far I have no complaints .. not tryna impress no one with the latest iPhone it’s a phone I’m more into the build then taking a damn instagram picture lol 😂 I could care less a about society snotty nose trolls 💯🙌🏾❤️
Don’t get the iPhone 14, instead either go with the iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13. iPhone 13 Pro is far better than the iPhone 14 in all ways, heck it even uses the same processor that means same longevity as the iPhone 14. But if you don’t care about the extra benefits of the iPhone 13 Pro. Still don’t buy the iPhone 14, instead go with the iPhone 13 which offers similar features as the iPhone 14 and is at least $100 cheaper, it can be even cheaper in some cases.
As a person coming from a galaxy a 13 the iPhone 15 pro max has been the best phone I’ve ever used it’s fantastic it’s extremely smooth and great for watching videos and playing mobile games I highly recommend it if you have an available upgrade at your phone store or even use your old phone for a credit to get a new one I highly highly recommend buying the 15 pro models best experience I’ve ever had with a phone hands down
