Which is Better? 50CC Husqvarna 545 VS 562XP 60CC Professional Chainsaws

The other day I was cutting in the Oklahoma Heat and I had two chainsaws with me. The Husqvarna 545 and theh 562XP. The 545 was sporting the 20" bar with semi chisel x cut chain and the 562XP was using the 24" Holzfforma bar and chain. As I was working, I found that I was drawn to 1 particular saw. You see, much of the cutting in the country is just like this. Lots of hardwood limbs criss crossing all over the place.

I own a tree service business and i never know what I'm gonna be cutting from job to job ! I have an 346-xp that's cut tons of wood and still runs strong ! I did buy a 550-xp mk 2 because I was told it was even hotter than my 346 and it is ! They do most of what I need regularly for the most part ! Now I've been hearing for awhile about how good the 562 -xp is from fellow wood cutters ! Well I bought a brand new 562-xp not long ago and wow its my go too saw now ! I can do just about everything with this new saw , it has great power for a 60 cc saw and its light ! It puts a smile on my face every time I pick it up ! If you want big wallop in a small saw the 562-xp husqvarna is the one !

I❤ my 545 which I upgraded to a 20in 3/8 chain so I won't have to worry about getting 325 for it and it pulls even better with the 3/8

I have other saws that take same chain size so makes it easier when I run out or can just change out chains if need be

Thank you for sharing how you have your saw set up. Do you have a lightweight 20 inch bar on it? That would be a very cool set up! I have never run 3/8 chain on a saw that came with .325. doesn’t it have a slightly wider curve on the 3/8? I would have assumed that it might be slower through the cut with the less displacement engine. Thank you for watching and I certainly appreciate your comments!

They all seem to cut very well. I have a husky rancher 450, but ever since I got my stihl 661 I hardly ever use the smaller one. It’s just so much faster.

Man……. I know why that is 😉When a man has access to machines he doesn’t typically crawl into the brush as much because he cuts the tops out and cleans them up mechanically and is only left with the nice stems to buck up. Hahah. When I ran a saw at the excavation company, I got to the point where I primarily used the 661c with a 24” bar and semi chisel chain. Just Buckin logs off the stump so the cat 316 could come and grab the trees. Or, you could be just more of a man than me. 😉 I do have an office job you know? Hahaha

So my dealer told me the 562 will be a Mark3. Definitely love my 550mk2. Good stuff as always!

There are already in shops in Europe brand new 562 xp mark 2 with autotune 3.0 They mixed 592 xp and 550 xp mk2 to get new 560/562 mark 2. It is build from base new. Cheers✌️

I am hoping my 550XP MKII will be back from the saw shop this week I have paid to have it ported and a muffler mod. You can't beat a little saw when cutting little limbs like that. I think the 562 is a heavy saw for what it is, I have recently acquired a 357 which i am really liking going to put a pop-up piston in it.

A 550 is 11.6 Lbs a 357 is 12 Lbs and a 562 is 12.5 Lbs @@oakiewoodsman

@@patrickvennard838 excellent info. Need to check out out with the appropriately sized bars. I have a 20” in each. I think the difference may get a little larger once suited up and ready to go.

I love my 545 Mk2 but usually run an 18” bar on it because I like the balance better. Do you run .325 or 3/8 on your 545?

.325 semi chisel works well for me. I have a few of em that is why. Never ran a full chisel on the saw. Would be interesting to do. I actually have an 18” bar by Holzfforma and some of their chain that I will periodically use as well. Thanks for sharing!

After using my 562 and 400c and going down to my 550 it seems like the 550 is a toy but it can get some serious work done

Good info from actual experience! The interesting thing is that is the 400c nearly the lightest saw there? With a 20” light bar, it would be a great combo!

The Atwoods near me is really trying to get rid of a 545 Mark II Pro. They're selling it for just under $450 when most places sell it for about $700.

That is an excellent deal. I am not sure they are a super good seller. I think the average person doesn’t know what they are looking at and are truly missing out!

@@karlrovey possibly but I think many people buy based on name and price along. You could probably offer some people a 545 for $300 and a ms250 for $250 and they will think they got a better deal and a better saw out of the 250.

Bottom line - owing two chainsaws is better than one. I don't care what size they are. If someone has never pinched a chainsaw, they are a much better man or woman than me. My 2005 Jonsered CS-2152 has been my primary chainsaw for the past 18 years. I own 72 acres of woods in SW Wisconsin & burn firewood. It gets used. Outside of taking it in to find a replacement muffler bolt that was lost, it has never seen shop time. I prefer a .325 semi-chisel chain & a 18" - 20" bar. My 83 year old dad is letting me borrow his 2004 Jonsered CS-2165 this year. It's our way of keeping him out of the woods. We don't want him cutting alone any more. If you take care of your equipment, it will last you a long time. I have 4 chainsaws, & my 2005 CS-2152 is the newest one. I like window shopping for chainsaws, but haven't really needed to buy one for almost 2 decades. Yet, I use them way more than the casual home owner.

@@oakiewoodsman To be honest, I haven't used my dad's 65cc chainsaw with a 3/8 pitch full chisel chain all that much yet. It may spoil me & make me realize what I have been missing all these years.

@driftlesshunter9200 well, one thing is this. Once you run something that does a better job more enjoyably, you are ruined. Best maybe sticking with what works for you. To me 3/8 vs .325 doesn’t matter because when both are sharp they cut great. I do however like the well performing lighter weight stuff. With some of this wood I have been cutting recently, o could have definitely used a 32” bar and 90CCs. I am excited to see how well my 620 runs once I get it back.

I dont remember what is in this video but I assume you are asking why I roll a log with my feet or hands instead of one of my 2 cant hooks? If so, the reason is because I likely didn't have them with me or simply didn't find it necessary to use the tool in that circumstance. Thanks for watching!

someone mentioned them on sale at Atwoods. A local atwoods some time ago here had them on sale too. Like $450 or so if I remember correctly! My Ported 620 got shipped today buddy! BOOM!

Thats a good price, paid $300 for one barely used when I flipped a lot of saws. Was a friend I sold it to so get to run it once in a awhile. Yea man I’m eagerly waiting to see a video on that saw!

I need to weight them and find out both configured with a 20” bar. That will be an interesting video. I found myself gravitating to the 50cc but I am not sure if it was just because of then lighter smaller bar. Thanks again man. My 562 has been running very well and continues to do so. Excellent tool! I am hearing the 562Xp is getting the Mark 3 designation. Interesting since Mark 2 exists but not many are out there.

@@oakiewoodsman yeah I might have to try one of these new 50cc Husqys just to see what I'm missing out on - lots of folks swear by them. But I'm still put off from buying one by the small bar mount on them and not being able to use my current inventory of large mount Husqy bars without cobbling one up to fit.

@@902hand7 I hear ya but I really think the bar just being smaller helps out with the feel quite a bit. It truly is one of the most versatile saws I have. For my physique, I can run it for long periods of time and not long to put it down. Good when you are exhausted for sure.

The 545 is one saw that makes no sense to me. It's basically a detuned 550xp. For a couple more bucks the 550 has more power same weight.

That initially is the thought right? The thing is there are many people that have both saws and appreciate the 545 more. Of Course, there are those that like the 550XP more. To me, since these saws are a bit more fragile, I figure the 545 may have a chance of lasting a bit longer due to the detuned nature and the same bearings and all. Thanks for watching
