I recommend you get the flocked filter with the black and translucent plastic. Best not to use the orange top mesh filter except in coldest weather like below 25 degrees F.
Love my new 545 mk2 with 18" bar! Coming from a 2020 435 mk2 15" . I'm using it now for cutting a big beech tree top, that came down after a storm. Lots of power and not too heavy. It's a beast!
I have the 545 mk 1 and I've run it every winter for 5 years now. Other than snapping the rope. I've never had any problems with it or had to swich any parts other than parts I've destroyed myself by being dumb. I really like this saw, but i think the 550 xpg is a little bit better. They are pretty much the same, but It feels a bit stronger in the wood, and the heated handles are nice
Thanks for your comment, from what I read on their website the 545 mk2 has 3.6ho, and the 550XP has 4hp. I only bought this saw because it was 130 bucks off, but glad I did. Take care.
@NSAHWoodlandLiving seems like a great buy. Seems to me all the 5-series non xp saws have great value. It's a pro saw, same cc as the xp and buildt just as sturdy. They aren't tuned as aggressively, and they don't come with heated handles.
Yes I agree, I'm always grabbing this saw for most of my feeling jobs. And yeah the 3/8 has more options but I find the 325 semi cheisel to hold up well before needing sharpening. Thanks for your comment.
