If you are already stable there in the US as a green card holder (having your own house and secured full time job) i think it's worth to stay. I know some people who are a citizen of UK, New Zealand and some from European countries they still moved here. But someone coming from the US have'nt met yet. Having said that, maybe US still better from Australia from a US citizen perspective.
Yes it's true but it depends if you are working in the government. While in private mostly you'll receive around 55000. Be noted that is per year computation and also a tax deductible.
