Which mic should i get in the $185-275 range AKG P420 ($185) AT2050 ($200), LCT 440 ($250) AT4040 ($275) I'm a standard - low tenor voice. Using ONLY for vocals to make music, not for instruments.

Hello Brandon! I do own a fifine K688 and i like it a lot, been using it exclusively for a year. Between the AM8 , the K688 and the Tank 3 from fifine, which do you prefer and why? Price difference here are not relevant for me as it is somewhat small. By the way , if you sell the k688 mod, i am buying!

With is up with mic people talking about 16khz being worse than 20khz? You ain't even gonna hear anything beyond 16khz.

I never said it was bad, but for professional applications, it makes a difference. Can the human ear of an adult hear above that frequency? In a small percentage of people, sure, but it’s more about the information it captures and how it can be manipulated for audio mastering. Again, and as I said in the video, it will not be an issue for content creation at all, but it is something that does separate the capsules and represents a better quality capsule for professional recordings.

One thing i never really understood is eq, everyone just ways do it until it sounds right. But I don’t know what “right” sounds like. Do you have any sourses and want to make a video on that?

high pass filter at 80hz to remove low end room noise and -3dB cuts at 200hz and 500hz to reduce muddy and boxy sound are a good place to start

I’m torn between the Fifine AM8 and K688, thoughts? I play pc games a lot with my speakers on instead of a headset and my current mic be picking up everything lol love the vids!
