I have been fishing the slx dc in salt 3-4-5 days a week for bay bass for a year or more never service just rinse with fresh water at the car and it’s smooth as the day I bought it.
I subscribed for your uncommon ability to NOT take yourself too seriously. That, and it was also a very good and informative video. Keep up the great work!
Love the channel so far. I primarily fish inshore saltwater and haven’t had any issues with either DC reels. My only dig is that I no longer want to use my expensive ass non-DC reels
Hey Kameron, although it does use a digital chip, Shimano does call it the Digital Control System. "Shimano's new Digital Control braking system utilizes a microcomputer..."
Hey nick, wondering if you’ve bought one yet. If so, which did you decide to get, do you you like it? I’m really liking the slx dc and i might buy it. Not sure yet
It's a fantastic reel! For the bass only guy, we think it offers a little bit better value than the Curado. However, if you're going to do any saltwater, definitely go with the Curado
I'll probably buy the slx DC on bass pro shops sale this weekend, I'm gonna fish some bass turnements next year and am wanting to upgrade from my $100-150 combos, I just bought the concept z reel $65 off on Amazon just in case I need to fish brackish or saltwater! For the price, from what I've heard and felt of them, it really doesn't seem like I could go wrong with ither! If bass pro shop has the courado DC for sale I might just buy one of those, if not, would you recommend the slx DC or the courado k?🤔👍
I continually go with the Scorpion DC over Curado simply because of I-DC5 technology. Not saying they're better, just saying I've never had a reason to try anything else at this point. Prob is they're up to 300 bucks now on amazon, curado dc's you can find at Dick's
I'll take the SLX gears any day over the micro teeth gears of the Curado, a true marketing gimmick, larger teeth stronger, thats why the Metanium went to brass, the aluminum micro where too weak, I wish a reel repair guy would comment on that.
