I have this in a 4k paired with a bull bay sniper medium heavy , caught a 80 pound tarpon on a 5inch NLBN paddle tail! … the best reel in the world lol !
Personally, I think the new OJ 2500 LD is more comparable to the saltiga 35jh or the 35 2 speed (which i have), Could you please do a video on that? I have pretty much all Ocea jigger reels except the new 2500 and absolutely love them. I am so used to the auto engage the star drag OJ brings. I have fished the valiant before, it is lighter but not significant. Also a great reel.
I’ve fished all of the reels you mentioned and the LD is much more refined. I own the LD and a 2500 F custom high gear. I find myself fishing the LD so I don’t need to rely on thumbing the spool all of the time.
@@ryangastley985 thumbing the spool is not a big deal for me but auto engage is lol. It is a personal choice of star drag vs lever drag. I had the saltiga 35 2speed before the ld2500 came out. But still, I gravitate towards the OJ 2000/4000 all the time
Your suggestions between st. Croix avid inshore 7’ MF and the bull bay bolt 7 mhf please? For Wade Fishing for specs and reds, casting in surf, and a good all-around rod. I’m putting a stradic 3000 on it. Thank you
Hey! I think the avid inshore would be the better choice, it has tons of power, but plenty of tip for casting lighter baits. It’s an incredibly versatile rod
@@tailwateroutfittersi appreciate your time and opinion. TBH I kinda thought people would say go for the Bolt but few people I asked most say at. Croix. My other inshore is a st Croix also. And been using for 15 years and still looks n fishes good with no issues. Was kinda wanting to try something new but thank you for making me realize not to change a good thing!!! Fully 🇺🇸made. Liked and Sub’d ‼️🎣🇺🇸🎣🇺🇸🎣.
I own a 19qt Engle....I have been using it for several years....never had minnows die. Even during the hot days of June/July....it is great....Keeps them alive for a full day of fishing. I have never added any ice/frozen water bottles....sounds like a great idea but, it hasn't been necessary for my fishing.....
It’s good to point out that titanium is also more impact resistant. This is the main reason why the spool lip is titanium. Picture fishing from jetty rocks and slipping and having your reel hit the rocks. This literally just happened to me and spool lip is chipped now.
I own an exeler, fuego, saltist back bay, and two fierce reels, I killed my first fuego in six months of surf fishing,(didn’t spray it out once!) but I don’t even blink at the fierce reels ! If it is salted up spay out with wd40 and penn grease everything at every spot! Right back to rough out of the box! That is the best reel for 100$ But the saltist reels are smooth forever ! Like a better fuego! And yeah I’m hard on everything! But I love it!
I’m guessing if you follow these two a lot in other videos this is could be funny(ish). If you stumbled upon this because you wanted the review for the specific rod and you have no idea what channel this is, then yes very cringy and when he said that they covered the majority of the rod, they in fact hadn’t even said a single thing about it by that point. I personally hate eating in front of people. It was not satisfying, watching him eat that salad. You don’t have to do anything for me, but my personal recommendation is to redo this video all over again regardless of the views it got.
I checked out both this Daiwa and the NASCI earlier today while shopping for a new setup for surf fishing and while the Daiwa was a bit lighter, it was too light in fact for my 9'6" rod. The NASCI was far better balanced for it, and felt more robust and durable. Plus the NASCI is saltwater resistant.
Since these reels can be used in salt water, you might of gone over how they are with water intrusion. I know the Nasci is sealed (hence the higher start-up force). But, what about the other 2?
