But i love to ride with pride my CI engine bike. New enfields are same as like hero honda splender. And the sound, style, rudeness only can be enjoyed in old enfields If you want speed then get other bikes like ktm, pulsar etc
Brother I have 1979 bullet and it's not leaking from anywhere.It takes courage to start old bullet.their sale was decreased becoz of their unique features which new gen finds difficult.they need self start bike with gears like splendor.those who starts bullet with self start cannot even imagine to kick start old bullet.

You are right at some point but CI is better for me because of the simplicity of engine that heavy crank and the soul it has the thump is way better in CI than uce i know its hard to maintain CI still i would prefer CI all day long did ladakh on my 1958 g2 i never had any problem regarding gasket leak or any other problem tho only one major prob occured but still i prefer CI over uce all day long.
If old is gold and real men ride ci bullet then why did royal enfield production died?.royal enfield is revived by uce RE bikes which is sold by huge numbers now.my question is if ci bikes were so good then why did RE production line was closed at that time and now uce started and sale has sky rocketed.
I had a 1974 Enfield that saw service till 2010 and gave me many many trips to Ladakh, Garhwal and Kumaon Mountains! I continued with an old model hub system for both wheels, and never encountered any problems except that everything leaked oil, and the battery acid burned all my pants! Last year I bought an Enfield Electra, and found it lacking almost all the defects of the robust ( but technically inferior) Old model Enfield! I am very happy for its fuel efficiency, soft suspension, reliable front brake, and good fitments on the handlebar (that don't fall off on their own)❤
UCE is anytime better than CI I had a CI engine standard 350 and then after using it fir few years I upgraded to UCE bullet. Rainy seasons it was a problem, point used to get moist and bike just won't start. UCE may not be unique like Right side gear and left brake but technically much better

😢😢 little heart break.. coz I have 2009 Electra. I have ridden both UCE and my bike and the feel that I get while I ride my bike is far better than a UCE engine. Folks may disagree but that is how it is 😊😊
Agar purani ci engine ka feel chahiye to fir abhi ki nayi standard 350 base model with drum brakes wala try karo uska crank abhi ke saare enfields se heavy hai around 10.5kg. Haa purani ci engines ka bahot heavy tha somewhere around 14kg lekin ye baat 1980's ke models tak hi limited thi..late 90's ke jo ci engines hai unke crank bhi light kar diye gaye they....conclusion is new uce standard 350 is same as ci in performance n feel and better
I have 1960s bullet 350 (G2 engine) and it's still running. But it has a major issue with kick start. Often it stops suddenly and doesn't start after 20 to 30 kicks.
Sidhi baat hai, the newer UCE engines are much more powerful than older ci's, they are much more efficient in power transmission as they are constructed as a unit unlike the older ci's, of course the older ci's had a better build quality than the UCE's, but still UCE is definitely an evolution, though a little bit!!.. Agar aaj bhi ye bike England mein ban rahi hoti, to ab tak wo log ise bahut upgrade aur refine kar chuke hote, without changing much of it's basic characteristics, but India mein har kaam slow hota hai.. don't know why!!...

The clutch needs a thinner viscosity as it needs to react fast and there is less moving part. So generally in CI specify oil was used for those modules and hence the parts used to have more life. I had never opened my gearbox in 15 years. But the UCE it's the same oil for all and hence there is a trade off with reliability but better convenience.

Ye comparision ni tha bhai. Compare krna tha to detail btani thi. CI me point gap ignition system h, UCE me advance Transistor Controlled Ignition syatem h. CI me carb manually fuel inject krta h, UCE me electronic fuel injection h. CI me gear driven tapet , UCE me hydrolic tapets jo adjust krne ki jrurt ni. Plus UCE me ECU use hua h CI me ni. Par in sb advance features k baad bhi personally I like CI engines way more, those are robust engines, one does not have to rely on electronics while riding a CI. I tune it myself and it runs far better than any UCE. UCE vibrates too much on highways, and you can never enjoy a UCE like a CI. Yes the CI is slower on highways, but the feel of a CI could never be comparable to any other motorcycle. I m riding a CI for 10 years, but it every single day when I ride it, it feels like the first ride. Problems with it are tuning, it needs proper tuning after few months or weeks. But overall CI is best

Being objective, from the view of a spare parts dealer the new bike is good because most of the parts on the new models are fast moving and expensive on the other hand the CI parts are slow moving and inexpensive. The best example is the starter motor on the new models. For a rider like me, last week (09.10.17) was the 1st time in 12 years (Mine is a CI Bullet 500 from 2005) I got a major repair work done, the job was to change my rockers coz it developed a play due to normal ware along with the full service. The entire cost including labour and parts came up to Rs 3700 in Bangalore. I am sure, not a single new model bike can claim the reliability of a CI. CI's have stood the test of time.

CI engine Bullets are made for peaceful riding..one should never go on a group ride having modern bikes with his/her CI engine. Owner has to have good mechanical knowledge of engines and compression to start and use old bullet. I ride a 1989 model bullet used by my uncle rigorously. Still in solid condition. It's not at all unreliable but cannot be taken care by people who just dont care about their bikes, UCE can. Hence so many UCE royal enfields (not Bullet) on the streets these days. Uniqueness gone, pride gone. Don't you think that's a shame for a company with such a legacy?

UCE engine is for people who don't need to take care if the engine, but CI had better long life in general wear and tear. These days the companies need the customers to come back for spares and services and that's how they operate and have get the funds from. I have seen a lot of bikes going to service centers and spares with UCE , than when the CI was there. I hardly saw a bike for service in those days with dealers. The main advantage of CI is the separate compartment for each module and they need different type of oil. The gear needs a thicker viscosity oil than engine and there are a lot of moving parts,
I love CI engine.. bt 2day's time ppl still buys RE bikes because of electric start.. even latest STD 350 is also a UCE engine bt it doesn't have ES... Either classic, electra or TB models are preferred by lot of customers as they have ES..

This question I am asking for those people who do not like UCE and those users who are fed-up of their UCE bikes. I have heard from a lot of UCE users that CI was better than UCE because of UCE maintenance and less reliability.
Bro please share a valuable info What are the weights of your two Bullets? Because I rode a 1995 Bullet and on the RC the weight was just 163 kgs. And the 1978 Bullet that I rode was much heavier than my Electra 2016(187 kgs)
In New model Bullets if any parts get damage you have to open all the other parts also to get repair but in old model Bullets you have to open only damage part and get repair . And in new Bullet if you take off rear tyre and it's ring then when it stall again in the Bullets your New model Bullet can back brack fails sometimes . That's why mechanic don't want to open rear tyre and rim and in old model Bullets their is no risk for rear Breck fail . I have 90 model disposal Army Bullet .

CI इंजिन का अगर काम करवाया हुआ तो वो कभी भी चढ़ाई सही तरह से नही चढ़ेगा, अगर आपको इंजिन का काम करवाना है तो फिर उसके सारे पार्ट बदलने होंगे, जिनके बारे में बोल जाता है कि ये तक लेथ मशीन पा सही हो जाएगा। सिलिंडर तो आपको हर हाल में नया लेना होगा। गियर बॉक्स का भी पार्ट बदलना ही होगा पूरा। लोड कम करना होगा।
