@@AradSabet the 747 is one of the safest planes in the skies, for according to statistics, the 747-400 will kill 0.06 people for every 1 million flights, one of the lowest statistics Any pilot who makes a mistake can cause a crash regardless of the plane, have you not seen the how many incidents there are on other planes related to pilot error? From 737s, A300s and many more? There have even been times when the plane + the pilots saved everyone on board, both the 747 and A380 have been in this situation, Qantas 32 and Philippine airlines flight 434 are great examples The only Boeing plane you should be avoiding is the 737 MAX

I love the fact that when the a380 is at rest, the weight of the engines pulls the wings down forming an arc. As soon as the plane approaches takeoff speeds the lift generated by the wings levels them out. Amazing!

I was going to write the same thing. So far (as a pilot) my favorite noise is the CF6-50 during takeoff. That magic moment when you go to climb power is so distinctive. I love it. Or the powerful howl of the GE90-115.

Excellent to read your experienced comment! The Queen, from her Special Performance version through to the -8, has always been a faster aircraft in Mach CRZ than the majority of Airbus designs... except when the 380 took an unfair dive from CRZ altitude during validation flights and raised its bulk to beyond Mach 0.9 I understand...

I live on the JFK south approach at the Atlantic shoreline. Both planes are quite loud with a slight edge going to the A380. To see such a massive machine like the A380 in midair is unbelievable! But watching that 747 glide is truly a thing of beauty.

A 1 dB change in a sound equates to about a 26% difference in sound energy (remember that a 3 dB difference is a doubling of energy levels). Beautiful shots of two of the finest passenger planes ever made. Inside the aircraft, as a passenger, the 380 is much quieter. For s plane the size of a seven story building, the 380 makes a very very silent take off. You will hardly feel it, unless you are watching it on the IFE Tv screen in front of you. Watching the 380 leave the ground is a pleasurable experience, whether you are inside or outside of it . It is also solid like a rock in the air. The 747 also looks terrific, no doubt. I got goosebumps at 1:45 and 4:25 as the two planes began take off roles.

It's not fair. A380 vs 747-400, no. A380 vs 747-8, that will be fair. The 747-400 is much older, than the A380.

The A380 is 2007. 747-8 Engines: General Electric A380 Engines: RR or EA So tell me what you mean with 747-8 is old and they have the same engines?

ANSWER: Technically the 747 was louder and mostly from the higher pitch sound from it (at taxi) although 747 only beats the Airbus a380 by 1db

@judas crim hi yes I have been on it 3 times now in 3 years and what i mean by paper plane its my way of expressing how something so huge and so heavy just lifts off the ground without feeling anything and feels like the whole aircraft is made of paper because its feels weightless and so quiet like it dose not have anything to make it fly like engine's because I cannot here any real noise unlike any other plane iv ever been on and it's such a beautiful aircraft too fly on that i will miss it very much once they stop using them

@@AndrewGuns concordes engines were so loud it use to set off car alarms. There are videos of it flying overhead and car alarms being set off lol. Plus many countries didn't want it flying to their airports due to engine noise. Then add the fact that it had to be very careful about where it flew faster than the speed of sound due to the sonic boom. I don't think the AN 225 can compete with that lol 😂

Thanks for comparison. A380 seems quieter. The older 747-400 engines put out 56500 - 63300 lbf while the 380 puts out 74740-80210 lbf. Light fun video that possibly shows the advancement of jet engines over time as being more powerful, efficient, and quieter.

Both planes are stunning. A380 is a giant that flies, till this day it amazes me how such a heavy plane can manage to lift from the ground. 747 is a classic beast, no other giant comercial plane can compare to the thrust this plane generates with its engines, it can lift quite quickly compared to the A380 that requires almost the entired runway of distance to lift, I love both of them but the winner is the 747 based on it's longevity and track record, 747 is the giant darling around the world, A380 is the luxurious rare to find behemoth that everyone in the world wish to fly on it.
