Some races exist just to fleece the public, who probably don't matter to F1 anyway. Living in London, about half a dozen work colleagues looked at Silverstone and paddock tickets. As a group we could spend less money and buy an 85inch 8k tv. Or, as one calculated, it was cheaper to fly to Baku, stay overnight and buy paddock tickets for that GP than make a day trip to Silverstone's paddock.

Even worse for fans who need travel visas to attend races as those are often not cheap, and can have long lead times.

@CB56 ain’t no way the general public would be ok with subsiding motorsport events

that's fine by me tbh, i'd rather go to a track i prefer, abroad, knowing it's cheaper than the GP at home

One thing I've learned throughout this series is that you can be a little sneaky to get further than your tickets will get you! Sneak responsibly, my friends!

It was easier before, when Shanghai was a new GP there weren't a lot of Europeans and if you dressed well and tucked your lanyard pass into your shirt pocket nobody stopped me once I was in certain areas. I got into the pit lane walk once and took a pic with Jean Todt in front of their garage, I met a lot of drivers at that GP.

I will say having been to Austin for the GP a couple times that you can get excellent opportunities to meet drivers and team principals chilling outside the Fairmont in Downtown Austin. This past race I met Leclerc, K-Mag, and Zak Brown while only being there for 30 minutes!

I used to go to f1 races regularly, but since the ticket prices are gone off the rector scale It’s cheaper take a sun holiday and watch it from the beach!

Your videos are so enjoyable, and of course the very definition of unique. That and the undeniable quality makes them bet entertaining to watch and Valuable just to add to the enjoyment of my favorite by far sport on this whole planet. I’ve been passionate about Formula One since 1986. 3 doz years following , starting year 37. Amazing sport through lots of evolution and some dramatic history making seasons of suspense, surprises, and excitement. So much fun and it just keeps growing.

Good feature. I worked on the Montreal race a couple of times, (worked with Murray Walker) and also attended, it's a good venue. Attending, I saw more and enjoyed Qual days, more than race day. Americans have an advantage with the proximity, and a very favorable exchange rate for the dollar.

In Vegas, if you get strip view at the Flamingo, you'll have an amazing view. Price last time I checked was $900 a night.

Having been to COTA, we absolutely LOVED it. You’re right though, parking is an expensive nightmare. Spent 150 for a 3 day pass, out in the boondocks… after the race we didn’t move for 4 hours only to discover the attendants were taking bribes to jump the line. That was the only negative though, will definitely do the bus next time. Great content as always!

Yeah, Vegas. I regularly go to Vegas, have a timeshare there on Harmon, right on the track. They said you have to book that whole week charging double weekend points. Not doing that, unfortunately. You're very correct about Vegas.

The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort is the place to be in my opinion for the Austin GP. Park in the surround farms on the southern end of the track and you will have no issues leaving immediately after race or quali and you can get to hotel in about 10 mins... traffic can be an issue here as we all know but they are working on this issue too.

Before watching this after doing a lot of research myself trying to narrow down which one to go to I was thinking Hungary, Austin or Singapore. Thanks Kym you just backed up my thoughts. Probably going to settle for turn 3 lounge at Singas. Eye watering price though.

i went to Austin last year and i can say that i found cheaper accommodations in San Marcos (30ish min drive). that does mean you have to rent a car and get parking tho, so i would spend some time comparing the cost of each option. i parked w Chris Taylor Racing and i would say we got pretty lucky overall. day 1 getting out was a nightmare, took nearly 4 hours, there were no attendants, a fight broke out and the cops showed up, and we were at the back of the line to get out. day 2 we smartened up and parked in a spot that allowed us to get out way faster. day 3 we showed up a lot later than most and got put in an overflow lot (which was probably just Chris Taylors grandmas house rather than an actual lot 🤣). there were like 10 cars in that lot so we pretty much just left instantly, which was lucky af. great time tho. if u can afford bleachers then sit at the end of the long DRS zone. also bleachers will allow you to not be in such a rush to secure a spot in a GA section. worth it to wait a few years and save up in order to secure a more relaxed experience

We tried to get tickets to Vegas but it was too big of a gamble for us so we opted for an Indy race. We went to St. Pete this past weekend and it was a lot of fun! It was a street course so we saw a lot of action. It’s a great way to see open wheel racing for a lower price point. My only issue with it was they didn’t have any place to refill water bottles. So we spent a good amount of money on water. I wonder if it’s the same for F1 when it comes to water.

Thanks for the great series Kym, I'm wondering how you manage to stay connected when you travel - do you use your home providers roaming package, or do you just grab a sim from the airport when you arrive at each destination?

Racing is for the rich, not the poor. Many people oppose that concept passionately, but it remains a fact indeed. Participants and observers, (or those who attend in person) both need much more money than average people has.

Best race to attend? The one where Lance Stroll is forced into retirement for being an entitled jackass. I'm not into F1, but I can confidently state that watching a race from home for free is much better than paying thousands of dollars to be part of a circus while you stand in line for hours and hours. Unless you have a backstage pass, there's really nothing to see that you can't see at home.
