I’ve always enjoyed the sister and brother connection. I think it’s the most realistic. Usually with the real life true crimes people are often murdered or attempted to be murdered by a family member, partner, friend, coworker, neighbor, or someone close to them.

Never thought of it that way, Thanks :)

I think RU-vid user @FreakinSweet86 said it best. I just love the "Choose your own adventure" style that appears to have formed unintentionally from the series. You can follow: - Halloween 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 (Laurie dies, Story moves to focus on her daughter Jamie Lloyd, ends at H6) - Halloween 1, 2, H20 and R (Laurie survives, Michael comes back 20 years later, Laurie/Keri dies in nuthouse) - Halloween 1, 2 and H20 (Laurie Survives, Michael comes back 20 years Later, Laurie/Keri kills Michael, end) - Halloween 1, 2018, Kills and Ends (Laurie survives, Michael escapes 40 years after capture, Laurie is recluse survivalist with an estranged daughter and granddaughter) Take your pick. Honestly would love to see if a horror film could pull something like this off intentionally rather than by trial and error. Couldn't have said it better myself. :)

There actually isn't anything about 'Halloween: H20: 20 Years Later' that contradicts the Thorn Trilogy. It can be assumed that Michael's body disappearing after 'Halloween 2'[1981] was simply what the general public was led to believe. Plenty of 'Halloween' fans consider the Thorn Trilogy to be canonical to 'Halloween: H20: 20 Years Later'. However, there's a set of comic book stories that count 'Halloween: H20: 20 Years Later' as canonical, while ignoring the Thorn Trilogy. In my own personal 'Halloween' headcanon, 'Halloween'[1978], 'Halloween 2'[1981], 'Halloween 3: Season of The Witch'(in my mind, the film seen playing on TV is an in-universe based-on-a-true-story movie about what happened in Haddonfield on 10-31-1978), 'Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers', 'Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers', and 'Halloween: H20: 20 Years Later' are all canonical, there's an alternate 'Halloween 6' in which Jamie Lloyd doesn't die, and there's a story set in 2018 that would involve Laurie Strode, Jamie Lloyd, Billy Hill, John Tate, Molly Cartwell, Dr Loomis, and Daniel Challis going up against Michael('Halloween: Resurrection''s explanation of his survival would still count in this 'Halloween' canon), and bringing an end to the Cult of Thorn(which, in my mind, Conal Cochran and the people working for him were part of) and the Curse of Thorn, with Michael being freed from the Curse of Thorn and dying at the end. If my ideas were to be used by Trancas for future 'Halloween' projects, this would allow for many projects that could take place during the gap between 'Halloween: H20: 20 Years Later' and this hypothetical story set in 2018 that would be titled 'Halloween: The End of Michael Myers', and each of these stories that fill in said gap could involve Michael going after new characters. If you want to see these ideas come to fruition, please sign this petition. www.change.org/p/trancas-blumhouse-universal-miramax-and-netflix-fan-tips-for-the-future-of-the-halloween-property.

Halloween 4 is the one I watch every year. The original is the best, but 4 is just plain eerie.

I know I've already already commented on this video, but to answer your question I'd say my favourite time line is thorn, although I do feel they missed a great opportunity to with the ending of 4 that was sadly squandered in 5. I also personally think that one way the Halloween series could carry on is the creators could revisit the concept that was set up in Season of the Witch, with Halloween becoming a anthology film series, with a different story each time centred around Halloween. I know it didn't work out so well the first time but maybe with the success of American Horror Story, and the VHS film series the audience might be more open to the idea now. Just a thought is all.

I'd love to see an anthology franchise with a Halloween themed movie coming out each October.

You should check out the Fan Film *_Michael Myers- Absolute Evil,_* it documentary that takes place in the universe of Halloween and explores how all the films tie into each other, even the Rob Zombie films get a small reference. Bare in mind that this is a fan film, and as such the production is far from brilliant, but for me that gave it a sense of realism, kind of the same way Dracula was presented as dossier. You can find it on RU-vid and it's just over an hour and a half long, it may not be for everyone, but if you're a fan of the Halloween franchise you might find the way it sifts through the storylines and lore that've built up over the years entertaining. I did.

As someone who has always enjoyed Halloween II, I'm quite happy to watch I and II as a double bill and for me, the story ends there.
@GrumpyAndrewsHorrorHouse
@GrumpyAndrewsHorrorHouse Год назад
That's entirely valid seeing as Michael is shot twice in the head and clearly burned very much to death at the end of part 2!

Firstly, the correct answer is "Halloween 3 timeline is the best timeline." But, if we're only counting Michael movies, and we have to include all the films in their respective timelines, I'd have to vote for the Thorn films. If we can pick and choose, I'd go with Halloween/Halloween. To me, Michael dies in that house fire. It's a nice, closed story and should have ended there.

Lesson here is really how good some of these timelines are if they end early. Just I & II as a double bill works, I, II & 4 even works with the Jamie sting, just I, II, and H20, and just I & 2018 is superb, but no single timeline (removing Zombie's for a second as its own thing, and only two movies anyway) doesn't fudge it by the end. For me, I'd take 2018 as the best conclusion to the "Laurie arc", and I, II & 4 as an overall collection of movies, but anyone saying one particular timeline has clear cohesiveness over another is probably leaning on first exposure bias.

Great video, Grumpy Andrew! I'm ill-equipped to judge as I've only seen 1, 2, "H2O", and 2018. Of the ones I've seen, my timeline is 1978 and 2018. Happy Halloween!

Great analysis video on those timeliness. My personal timeline would be Halloween 1978, Halloween II 1981 and H20 and that's it. Someone did bring this up to so I can't take credit for it, but how about this timeline: Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), do Halloween Resurrection as a prequel to H20, skip the first 15 mins with Jamie Lee Curtis/fake paramedic death of Myers and then end it with H20?

Honestly I wish they went the anthology route. Halloween 4 could've returned to Haddonfield with somebody trying to copy Michael's crimes with some supernatural elements. I think they should go the anthology route now

At this point, I'm ready to make up my own timeline... - John Carpenter's Halloween happens precisely as seen on screen. - Halloween II follows, but without the unnecessary sibling nonsense. Loomis is very, very dead. - Ten years later, we get _Evil Dies Tonight; or, The Death of Ted Hollister._ No orphaned daughters. - Another ten years later, Laurie and Michael face off in California. LL stops her from killing him. - Another ten years later, Laurie and Michael have a fatal confrontation in her Shape-Trap house. - Another ten years later, Michael's spirit inhabits a Plymouth Fury and haunts Laurie once more.

I’m with you that zombies Halloween needs more love. If it wasn’t for resurrection I’d easily pick the sister time line. Personally the Gordon green movies aren’t for me, 2018 is good, kills is bad and I’ll be honest I actually liked ends. I probably liked it because I expected it to be like kills, and it was way better than that. Great video 🎃

I liked Ends in a weird way, if it was a standalone movie or a side movie, but it simply doesn't work for me as the concluding part of a trilogy.

For me... Thorn>Gordon-Green>sister>zombie I like the Zombie timeline but it doesn't have the original film on its team, which in this 'game' handicaps it. Thorn was always going to win for me because I'm one of those weirdos who loves 4 AND 6. For people who don't like 5 or 6, maybe they will pick another timeline as their champion.

A fan of 6, very interesting. Do you prefer the theatrical or producers' cut, or do you think they are both much of a muchness?
@themidnightwoodsman1804

@@GrumpyAndrewsHorrorHouse I've never sought out the Producer's Cut. All that stuff with magic rocks has never really interested me. Maybe one day. I saw the theatrical cut on VHS rental in the 90s and have loved it ever since. It's got some of the best atmosphere and suspense in the series IMO. Technically there are plot holes, I guess, but when I'm watching it I just fill in the gaps myself and that works for me.

I am with you for most part I have seen all the Halloween multiple times except Ends only once and love some, like some, meh some and only hate resurrection. Picking a favorite timeliness is tough for me as you said because of inclusion of some of the movies like resurrection in "sister". Or 5 and 6 in thorn, not awful but not great by a long shot. But Original and 4 are great. I personally think 2018 is best sequel if that time line ended with Michael burning to death at end would probably be my favorite but it went downhill after. The whole mob scene in Kills was annoying if I never hear evil dies tonight again I will be happy buy enjoyed it for the Kills. Ends was a good slasher movie which would have been good spin off but terrible way to end Laurie vs Michael. I like H20. It's kinda corny but then went to resurrection with is terrible. Part 2 is an enjoyable watch but like Kills there is not much there other then the killing RZ I liked the first but seeing the ghost of Mr Ed in part 2 was kinda dumb. But did not hate as much as others. The shear brutality like Kills keeps it worth watching. So IMO thorn by a little. But Original and 2018 with Michael dying at end would be best time-line

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! Knowing now what came after 2018, I think I'd have a much easier time coming to terms with some of the things I didn't like in 2018 if, as you say, they'd have just ended it there and then.
