I decided to go with the Paperwhite and I’m so glad I did. Mine is green. It’s helped me read a lot faster and with more focus. I love the warm light for evening and night reading and that it can easily fit in my purse.
I watched your video and bought myself a Kindle Paperwhite signature edition. A perfect fit for my reading habit. Keep making these videos, you are awesome!
@@renatomacedof I have OCD so I never drain it down completely, but it seems like it would last for around 15 to 20 hours based on me watching how much it drains through my use.
@@renatomacedofI had mine for 5 years now and I read about 10/20 mins each night, I don’t remember when I last charged it as it’s so infrequent. Best guess once a month or every 6 weeks maybe
I'm a researcher in analytical philosophy. My work device is a Supernote A5X. I just bought a Paperwhite and I have to write it's a great device. Fast, great display. If I don't have to make annotations on PDF I'm using it for study too. Thank you for all your videos, you helped me getting the right device for me
I’ve had the Kindle Paperwhite 6 back in like 2015 and that bad boy is still kicking. I actually just purchased the Paperwhite Signature edition because my book collection has grown AND I signed up for Kindle Unlimited. I can’t wait to get my new kindle. Still going to use my old Kindle for traveling, or taking to work so if it breaks or anything, I”ll be fine. Just excited about reading again! :D
your videos are so high quality , this helped me in deciding which kindle to gift my little sister after she fell in love with it when she borrowed mine
I think the paper white is the best. It’s light, small, has the warm light. I have to have the warm light or I can’t read on it. I would love the oasis for the buttons but it’s too costly, especially for a 2019 model.
I absolutely love my oasis I've had it for 3 years now however for some reason it won't charge to 100%it stops at 95% I still get a long charge I just think its wierd 😳
My wife presented me oasis for New Year and boi this is perfect device. Yes, I’m switching everything to type-c, that’s a con, but all the pros of the screen ration, grip and buttons that I missed so much on paper white makes it perfect for me
Your kindle reviews really helped me sort out the right kindle for me in 2023. thank you! I was gifted a Kindle Paperwhite … I love it. I purchased a case that reflects my personality and enjoy picking it up everyday. You’re right about getting a kindle. It improved my reading habits and I finished over 30 books in 2023.
I bought a 2023 11th generation Paperwhite and it's amazing. The only minor issue I have with it, which seems to be the case with most kindle devices lately, is that sometimes the charging tops off at 99 % percent so I need to restart my kindle for it to charge up to 100 %. Other than that, as someone who still prefers physical books, I never knew how effortless e-reading could be. I think reading in the dark with dark mode turned on might be my favorite feature, but there are many more.
I bought by Kindle this year after being in the Barnes and Noble universe for decades. I was on a budget so I bought a refurbished 2019 10th generation. I go back and forth between my Kindle and my Nook Glowlight 4 but I find myself defaulting to my Kindle more and more. I just love the convivence of it. I'm more of an everyday bookworm so I'm leaning heavily towards getting a Paperwhite in 2024. This video was great in helping me weigh my options. Thank you!
I'm glad you're enjoying your Kindle! Looking forward to seeing what happens in 2024, we might get some new Kindle announcements. Either way, at least you have two different e-readers to use for now :D
This is the best video so far to explain. I am a first time buyer, I was more keenly interested in reading the books more but since I am now a mother and a teacher with every duty possible to do in the world I should now go for Kindle. I was confused with the basic and paperwhite but now I am so sure which to buy!!! Thanks alot
Great review! Your breakdown of the latest Kindles for 2024 really helped me weigh my options for an upgrade. I appreciate the detailed comparison - it's making my decision on which Kindle to buy much easier!
Thanks for this rundown. I have a paperwhite and was looking at a possible upgrade. Looks like I'll hold off for now and see when the current version is updated.
I use a Kindle Paperwhite 10th generation and a Kindle Scribe. I am very satisfied with both devices. I recently discovered your youtube and I really like it. Keep up the good work.
I have never paid to get ads removed, but don’t have ads on any of my kindles or Amazon fire tablets. Whenever I ask nicely for them to be removed for free, the customer service agent has kindly done it. You just need to remember that they don’t have to do it, so being nice will go a long way
I'm bought the 2015 paperwhite in 2018. Its still going strong in 2024 except for a scratch on the screen. I'm not meaning to replace it any time soon!
I personally think the Paperwhite superseded the Oasis as they made it 6.8” closer to the Oasis 7” and added all the features the Oasis has minus the page turn buttons. That’s what makes me think they won’t be upgrading the Oasis. I’m really disappointed as I’ve been waiting for an upgraded as I would love the page turn buttons 😢
Since there hasn’t been any new releases, would you personally wait for a new one or just buy what’s currently on the market? I heard there’s a color version coming out soon.
I wanna ask can we store our local pdf books like Textbooks from college and stuff via USB in kindle/if yes do they look colourfull or black and white , they are usually 200 - 300 MBs in size ?
Me too! I gave the paperwhite to my partner and he really loves the warm light (I'm happy with dark mode) and I prefer the smallest size because I take it everywhere.
As of 11/27, for cyber monday, the kindle paperwhite signature edition (no ads, 32 gb, wireless charging) is $140 and the kindle paperwhite (NO ads, 8gb) is also the same price. I snagged myself a paperwhite signature edition (in green) 😁😁
I just bought a Kobo aura 2nd edition, second hand. Already my most proud purchase. 😅 as a non american Kobo works better for me due to its epub compatibility.
Thank you for making these videos, I'm a 14 year old guy who recently got into reading on a Kindle (I've got a pretty old one my grandma gave me, an 8th gen Kindle that doesn't even have a backlight) and have been looking for an upgrade. I want to buy myself an Oasis, but having no hardware updates in 4 years is a pretty big turn-off. I'm thinking about just buying a Paperwhite Signature Edition, but I'm worried that it might have uneven front-lighting because I'm very sensitive to that sort of thing. Does the Paperwhite have good lighting or will there be dark spots? I'd love to know.
The base kindle has 4 lights, the signature has 17, and the oasis has 25. I personally have the signature and the lighting is very smooth. Since you’re sensitive to light differences, it’s stay away from the basic, but the signature should be more than fine.
Man i have been using i dont even know which kindle, its so old it doesnt even have a backlight in it, it has to be read in an external source of light. Im seriously considering splurging on the Scribe or the signature one.
I have: Kindle Oasis 2019, the Paperwhite Signature Edition, and the Kindle Basic 2022. It’s a shame they’re probably getting rid of the Oasis, but at this point it’s an outdated device, IMO. It’s 4 years old. My PW Signature is just as nice as the Oasis. It just missing the buttons, but the Oasis is awkward to hold in comparison. The only drawback for me with the PW is the size. It’s just a little too big for it to be in my purse with me. It fits in most of my bags, but it doesn’t fit in ALL which stinks for me. The Oasis is also not only too big but more fragile feeling. The PW’s screen is amazing which is obviously why it’s less portable. Shooting straight down the middle with the PW is a good idea for most readers!
I own and love the Oasis. Love the waterproof feature, the physical page change buttons, the size, shape, and weight. After a little over three years, the battery life is starting to dwindle. It's still usable? But I have to plug it in way more regularly. What I really want, is just the next gen Oasis, but it looks like they don't really have one of those? Waterproof, with buttons, nice size, easy to handle?
Brother, I have a Kindle scribe and I started making a sketch in it but ,when I am half way in my sketch it would lag bad , would u recommend any suggestions?
Please review the third gen kindle keyboard and compare how much things have changed. They still work and would love to hear your commentary. Google how to sign in bc there is a trick you need to follow
I'm bit confused which one to get Libra 2 vs Kindle Paperwhite? Tho i would mainly side load files/books, also want a seamsless experience to export notes/annotations so what's up?
I liked your video very much. It was informative and interesting. I am not in the market for a new Kindle, but if I was, I would find your video very helpful. I have a Kindle Oasis. I use it but I find it very hard to find things on it. Also, my fingers don't seem to have enough electricity to make my journey amongst the pages. Do you have a video on how to use the Oasis properly and any tips for navigating?
I have basic kindle almost 7 years old and kept in most unkempt condition but now its dusplay has dimmed slightly. Tablets offer more flexibility in reading pdf than kindle device. Not a.big fan of reading at night ( marketing gimmick not good for eyes)
that was the only reasom i got rid of my kindle! the software became so slow and with the updates.... i would have to wait for the book to load and wait for the page to turn then wait for the words to come up.... sigh* i will say it was a 2014 kindle and i wanted to keep it forever! but i forgot how technology works and it is not like books that stay in the same form for decades 😭😭😭😭
I have had trouble finding help with this Kindle issue: I read in Kindle and highlight text, but after an update, I lost my highlights and notes in the Kindle. They appear on my Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad, but not on my kindle. I have tried syncing my Kindle several times, but no changes. Any suggestions?
They have to fix disappearing covers problem first. I hate disappearing Covers. Doesnt matter how many ways to know about fixing. Still happening this s**t
Hey, I'm planning to upgrade to the new Paperwhite (I was on the 7th gen) but I can't decide if I should stick with black or go with the denim. I just thought to ask if the denim actually looks lighter than in photos/videos? Thanks!
I have the Denim Kindle Basic, which is made of a different material than the Paperwhite. It’s a nice color (I love blue). But personally I like black better when it comes to reading because the bezels are less distracting. It’s really a personal preference!
My recently bought Kindle Paperwhite signature edition now has a pencil thin white line across the screen, it doesn't go away even upon multiple re-starts. Any suggestions on how to fix this, have you guys also faced the same issue?
You can replace the battery on a Voyage? That's the best Kindle, I think, though to be sure, it is the one I have. I definitely prefer having page turn buttons of some sort.
heyy!! I'm about to buy a new kindle... i just wanted to know if I can add my own PDFs or do I have to buy the Amazon books... also will I be able to add my Goodreads account on the Kindle? loved your vdo!! thanks for the suggestions!!
i watched a couple of reviews, and i m not really clear on some aspects of the kindle (i m thinking about buying one for the first time). can you use it without an amazon account? i have an amazon account, but i mean, do i have to be logged in, or can i just use it to read PDF files that i already have? is there a ebook-reader that is specifically for PDFs? what's important for me is also a long battery life. thanks to anyone who responds ♥
