Many people will be considering buying an LG OLED TV this year and some will be choosing between the 48" and the 55" as they are the most popular sizes. But which should you buy? Here are my thoughts..

Thanks for making this video. I'm watching it in February of 2023. Everything you've said helps to confirm that I'm making the right choice in buying the 55" C2 TV. It's currently on sale, in Australia, for just over 31% off! (Down from AU$3200 to $2100!) One thing, despite LG's quick set-up guide showing a diagram of the TV on a swivel stand, none of the C2 TVs come with a swivel stand one one is not available...However, there are VESA mounting screw holes on the back, so it can be mounted on a 3rd party swivel stand (or wall mounted.)

@pulsarevent8487 Год назад
Of course a bigger tv would be brighter than a smaller cuz of the number of pixels.. at the end the technology used in 48 and 55 is the exact same ! Choice just depend on the distance u will be sitting from the tv. For gaming, i think the 48 is a more suittable one.
@Bailey0li
@Bailey0li Год назад
As you said If you use the 48 inch for gaming there will be no significant change compared to the 55 as you are viewing the tv at a closer range however if you plan to put the tv in a living room which is in a lighter environment and further sitting distance then the increased brightness caters for that - so the 55 is best for lighter and longer viewing distances mainly for movies and the 48 is better for up-close gaming as the pixels appear brighter when your closer to the screen

I had read the LG C2 42" and 48" use the same OLED panel as last year, while the bigger sizes have the actual W-OLED panel and that LG is shipping just now the WOLED versions of 42" and 48" without actually telling the customer which panel they are getting but rather advertising everything as new evo oled. How are you supposed to test your C2 to check which panel you got or is this true at all?

48 is sharper. Has accurate color. Better dynamic range (reveals more information in dark scenes and it does not blow out background highlights while showing better sharpness) . I did not care about counting stars. Both look great and with the 55, given the color should be able to be changed and can lower the brightness to see if the background+highlighs are better rendered, the 55 would better match the 48 and show more stars when brightness is turned up again for the star scenes😂

But then again I also still have my 2009 LG 22 inch 720P led LCD fully working. You don't need it because when you sit closer the 55 inch has 80 ppi the 42 is 109 mean better picture quality brightness destroy picture quality if too much
@Bailey0li
@Bailey0li Год назад
If you use the 48 inch for gaming there will be no significant change compared to the 55 as you are viewing the tv at a closer range however if you plan to put the tv in a living room which is in a lighter environment and further sitting distance then the increased brightness caters for that - so the 55 is best for lighter and longer viewing distances mainly for movies and the 48 is better for up-close gaming as the pixels appear brighter when your closer to the screen
