Great video and comparo. The RF roof is similar to a Porsche Targa roof. That is sweet in itself. However, the speed (and ease) at which the soft top can be deployed is insane. And a few reviewers said the RF has a wind noise coming form the canopy when driving. IMO, the soft top is the way to go. Cheaper and probably more fun in a fully opened top than the RF. Cheers

The debate begins at Soft top or RF ! $3400 to $3600 new difference is hard to understand for the RF premium. Oh it looks better from the side - yea it also blocks your side vision. The soft top models are how the 1st Miatas came. The truth is the ND soft tops have a hard shell that extend over the roll bars making them lighter & faster overall because the RFs are top heavy. The soft tops are quieter top down than the RF which many people don't understand. Both cars have basically the same filtered drainage systems & its a good idea to avoid parking under any trees. Owner of a 2016 Club soft top so I've already been thru what could possibly go wrong. For the RF money difference the Club with the Brembo brakes / BBS wheels & Recarro seats is the way to go for enthusiasts.

The BBS/Brembo/Recaro package wasn’t standard on the RF Club prior to 2023 so comparing the prices on a used 2022 and prior RF Club isn’t an apples to apples comparison to a new 2023.

The RF versions of both went up $2k while the price stayed the same for regular soft top wow. This must mean RF in higher demand?

These trim types are for America only. Different countries around the world get different styles depending upon what that country negotiated with Mazda Japan. And the MX5 hasn’t been called “Miata “ since 2005 however I know it’s hard to change an icon 😊.

I just test drove a 2022 with 5000 miles, and they were asking new price. It was the base model.

This was the worst driving slowest sport car I ever tested. I hated every second of driving it. It was terrible
