We will test what impact drivers between the Flex quick eject, the Hercules, m12 gen 3, craftsman R+P, SKIL PWRCORE12, Hypertough12v, and Metabo hpt triple hammer can remove lug nuts. Each of them will be torqued to around 100 ft pounds. Thank you for watching! Have a great day.

I have used my Milwaukee M12 impact driver to remove lug nuts that were torqued to 112 ft-lbs. It's a beast, considering its size. It damn near replaces the need for a mid-torque impact wrench.

@@Kaleb_RoSs You don't use 1/4" on lug nuts because the adapters can break. Lug nuts around 80 foot pounds, and the breaking strength of 1/4" hex bits and adapters is around 80 foot pounds. Use the correct tool for the job. Minimum 3/8 socket, or better still 1/2 socket.

This is SO helpful - HD has the Ridgid right angle impact ratchet on sale but it's expensive. Never thought to use my impact driver on these. SOO for the really stuck ones, I'll use the Bauer corded 1/2 inch impact wrench with something like 1000 ft/lbs of break away torque. They have a 25% off sale which makes it only like $60!! Which is insane!

Dude you can do the buy one starter kit with the 6ah & 4AH and you can get one of the Ridgid mid torque right now for far less than that right angle impact and it’s plenty powerful unless ur looking to break loose Honda crank bolts or work on an 18wheeler comes out to 90$ for the tool alone an 90 for the starter kit but I’d just buy it and return the starter kit (ppl call it hacking the deal) and if u do that u got the mid torque for under a bill…just figured I’d wish someone would’ve told me if I were you oh and to lyk they have the high torque on a bogo too but it’s a lil more expensive but well worth it for the price as Ridgids last octane model high torque was actually even more powerful than the 2767 Milwaukee, however Milwaukees back on top with the 2967 it’s a great tool

I haven't tried the others, but i own the Hercules 20v impact driver with 5a battery, which is surprisingly strong when used with 1/2" impact sockets and adapters. Obviously not the right tool for it but it can most certainly remove lug nuts. I use it for pretty much anything a 3/8" gun is suitable for, and of course the typical screws. Because of how it performs, I haven't had the need to get any 3/8 impact. I'm also fortunate in that i live where cars do not rust In addition to the impact driver, I also own the Gen 2 Hercules High Torque 1/2 impact wrench, and the Dewalt DCF891 Mid Torque 1/2" with the 5a Powerstack. Harbor Freight needs to come out with a stronger 1/2" compact Mid Torque as their current one is somewhat weak

Hello Kaleb, question Boss. I was just gifted a Milwaukee impact as I wanted to use it to speed up my process for my monthly wheels off detail. Would this be good to use? Also what was the tool you were using to measure the torque of each lug nut? My apologies for my ignorance. Just trying to find out some information. Thanks in advance.
@Kaleb_RoSs

I was using impact drivers to see if they can remove lug nuts but I wouldn’t recommend using them for that regularly. They can do it but an impact wrench is much better suited for it. I was using the quin torque wrench adapter on my breaker bar in this video but you can get some reliable torque wrenches for a better price than this. Thank you for watching!

@BuildThatFixThis

the triple hammer is a good concept, on paper, but, it has a flaw, most impact drivers have 2 hammers spaced apart at 180 degrees, so when hammer #1 hits, it has a longer travel from zero degrees, all the way around to build up that momentum , when hammer #2 hits, it has travelled a full 180 degrees, which means more momentum, harder hits, harder impact, more force, its physics, the triple hammer has 3 hammers, each hammer travelling a shorter distance, smaller revolutions, less travel, less force, weaker impacts... if you can visualize this, you will understand
@funkmon
@funkmon 6 месяцев назад
You got a lot of impact drivers. I tried to remove lug nuts with my impact driver and it can't do it. Sad! I have a Hyper Tough 20 volt brushed and the Skil 12v impact driver. The HT impact wrench of course makes quick work of them.
